Right by Bear Mountain. This place is huge with lots of room. Great hot tub and deck. The cabin was nice and clean and the pictures are 100% accurate.

I normally do not follow-up with a review after renting through Big Bear Cool Cabins. That's not to say my experiences haven't all been great, but for the most part, they're on par what what I expected. What's prompting me to write this time around is that I was absolutely thrilled with my stay at the Chateau Penguin. The pictures and description absolutely do not do this place justice. It's clean, well kept and offers a comfortable living room where my 9 friends and I piled around a warm fire on cozy couches and watched movies. The bathrooms are spotless, the beds are cozy and layout is perfect for a larger group. Everyone has their own space yet feel very much together.
I've never stayed in the same place twice in the long-standing 6-year tradition of my annual Big Bear trip with friends. But, this is the first time I know for sure I'll be seeing Chateau Penguin again.

The service I received from Big Bear was great. The night we drove up there was heavy snow and chains were required, which delaying our arrival time. The 2 women at the check-in location stayed late just to hand us the keys!
The cabin was clean and had all the amenities our big group needed. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook and the cabin was nice and warm. The couches and beds were comfortable and had no problems with the cabin itself.
My one and only issue was figuring out how the hot tub worked... but once we did it was great after a day of snowboarding. Hope you enjoy! -

Upon arriving to check in we were greeted with the friendly staff at Cool Cabins. The house was great! Plenty of room for our group and the hot tub was so relaxing. We were close to shops and a short drive to the village. A great time was had by all!

Great time was had by all!! The only thing I would say is that they could be a little cleaner!! Other than that it was awesome to have the entire family in one big cabin. We loved the layout and the fact that there were two bathroooms.

Chateau Penguin was a great cabin! Very clean, spacious, and big enough for our group of 10. The only cons I can give is that the hot tub was filthy upon our arrival, so we didn't use it much. Also, we had problems with the kitchen sink backing up...but management was fast about sending someone out to fix it. Overall, I'd rent that cabin again!

Everything was acceptable but there was a few things not connected:
1.- The Wi-fi not working
2.- Microwave out of order
3.- the key to unlock the jacuzzi was not there

A comfortable and homey cabin! My friends and I were surprised at how roomy, modern, and clean the cabin is. The pictures don't do it justice. It fit the 9 of us comfortably. The top floor was a great entertaining space for all of us to hang out at, and roast s'mores at the end of the night. We definitely enjoyed the fresh air, and amazing view of the mountains on the decks while we grilled and hot tubed it. Each of the 4 rooms were charming and very spacious. The master bedroom was huge. It has it's own large fireplace and private deck. I wish I had that big of a master bedroom! Even though we did not have any kids in our group, the large bedroom downstairs would be a great space for kids; especially since there were video games and board games in the coffee table to play. It was a nice touch that they provided all the little things that you normally don't pack or forget to bring (fresh towels, mouthwash, dish soap/sponge, laundry soap, can/bottle openers, all the utensils needed to cook, coffee pot, toaster oven, etc.). We've stayed at cabins in Big Bear before and they did not have all of these amenities. They really did think of everything! We loved how the cabin was less than 5 minutes away from Snow Summit. Even though we normally don't stay in the same cabin twice, Chateau Penguin will definitely be the place we stay at from now on. I highly recommend it! Talk about luxurious. The cabin was huge! It has four bedrooms two of which are as big as two rooms in one. The game room downstairs was a perfect setup to bring the kids on the next trip. The kitchen was fully equiped with everythig we needed to cook dinner every night. The hottub was wonderful with a great view of big bear mountian and snow summitt. Both mountians were only a three minute drive so we were able to be the 1st ones to hit the slopes in the morning. We felt very much at home in this cabin and we will definatly make this our place to stay every time we visit big bear. Thank you for the wonderful memories.
