Happy Trails is a great single story home in the Eagle Point area that was completely remodeled in 2007 – a beautiful new kitchen and bathrooms and all new flooring throughout. Happy Trails is the perfect location – walking distance to Big Bear Lake (right down the street), Meadow Park & Swim Beach (grass and picnic areas, tennis courts, sand volleyball court, play structure and swings) and Snow Summit Ski Resort. tucson, azGreat Place!
Left on 06/12/2012 for a stay in June 2012
We stayed here for a weekend with our kids and they loved the "bunk house" room with the three sets of bunk beds and their own tv! It was an easy walk to the park and a very quick drive to all the restaurants and activities we wanted to do, like boating, bowling and the spa. It was clean and well stocked with kitchen items and extra pillows and blankets. The meadow behind was beautiful and the entire experience was peaceful. We arrived late and were able to pick up keys at the security office at 1am. Made the check in process so much easier!

Our second experience with Big Bear Vacation rentals and just as happy as the first! The house was great, pictures represented what we were getting perfectly. Great space for a big group to hang out, everything was functional, plenty of hot water, comfortable beds and couches. Can't complain! Big Bear rentals is the way to book your trip and Happy Trails is a great home.

Los AngelesNice but smelly
Left on 01/22/2011 for a stay in January 2011
The house was nice and big, with comfy sofas and a great bunk room if you're travelling with kids. I would have rated this place a 4, but when we arrived there was an overwhelming smell of cat pee - strongest in the bunk room. As it was in the 30s we couldn't leave the windows open, and it was tough for the people staying in that room. Apparently someone had noticed the smell because there was a little air freshener placed on a table in there, but really they probably need to replace the carpets. It was a pretty strong smell and I wouldn't recommend this place unless it was taken care of.

Thank you for responding to our survey--The bunk room doesn't have this order any longer This house is built on a slab floor. There was so much rain that water did penetrate the corner of the house in that room (standing water was above the slab-line). This is a no Pets unit. We hope you were able to enjoy yourself while in Big Bear Bear.

Hollywood, CAA nice house for a group, but come prepared!
Left on 11/19/2009 for a stay in October 2009
Overall, I was happy with my experience, although there were some annoyances that made paying $450 for one night a little "over the top."
First, the good: the home was located in a nice neighborhood, with ample parking. The house itself was clean when I arrived, and included nice amenities like a CD player with iPod plugin, and wifi. There was ample seating and amenities, although with this house specifically you should be aware that the "bunkhouse" where there are three sets of bunk-beds is actually in a converted garage. It's all finished and clean, but there is no direct heat in there and no bathroom. (The two bathrooms are with the other two bedrooms.) There was a charcoal grill out back, and a fireplace inside. A small yard was nice for star-gazing for a few minutes.
Before I start with the bad: none of this is a deal-breaker. I would probably use this service again, knowing what I know: the sliding glass door in the back of the house could not be locked shut after it was opened. I tried calling the management company at about 6-something in the evening, but no one ever picked up.
There were also an inadequate number of plates for the size of the house. I think 10 plates total for eight beds, which means that you have no plates for, say, putting food on while everyone has their own plate to eat off-of. A little odd.
I was also told, when checking in, to just put the dishes in the dishwasher before I left and "leave them there." When I arrived at the check-out office the next morning and advised that there was no dishwasher-specific soap to clean with, I was asked if there was any liquid dish-soap. I advised that yes, there was, and was told that I should have cleaned all the dishes (for 10 people) with the liquid soap. I was then told that if I didn't want to be charged a fee, I would have to take their dishwasher soap back and turn on the diswasher. I then had to do that.
Nonetheless, not a bad experience overall. I would rent here again. -

Myself & my wife really enjoyed Happy Trails with our 4 children. The house is in a beautiful neighborhood and it is almost to quiet. The backyard is great for children to play & it has a great view of the woods. With the exception of some doors not closing properly I highly recommend this house.
