      Great Stay

Left on 02/04/2011 for a stay in January 2011

      Pros:
Check-in was friendly, quick, and easy.
The house had lots of things to keep the kids busy like puzzles, games, big screen tv, and a pool table. We really liked how there were two wings on the house so we had the families with kids on one side of the house, and the older family members on the other side for some peace and quiet. Kitchen was spacious. Location was 5 minutes away to Snow Summit.

Cons: You could feel the springs in the beds and they were a bit noisy. They would squeak just by rolling over.
There were also a few ants in the kitchen and upstairs bathroom. We didn't know where the ants came from since there was no food out and everything was in ziplock bags.

Overall a great place to stay with family and/or friends.

      Comfortable stay

Left on 09/16/2010 for a stay in September 2010

The cabin is quite comfortable. We were 12 of us and the cabin could sleep 16. So, it was extremely spacious.

The pool table and the jacuzzi made it fun to hang out in the cabin itself.

Couple of minor issues we had:-
      Dish wasn't working
The pool table was extremely dusty
The house does not have centralized cooling

The dishwasher is working. Houses in Big Bear traditionally do not have air conditioning. We open windows. The average summertime temperature is in the high 70s.

      Nice Vacaion Home

Left on 01/13/2010 for a stay in December 2009

We have been going to Big Bear for the past 5 years now. Every time we go we stay in a different home. We really liked this home for several reasons. Check in was easy and hassle free. We were four families of four and it was perfect. We all had a bed and our own restroom. Which was great! The kitchen was big enough for us to cook our meals and socialize at the same time. The floor plan of the house made it feel extremely roomy. The kids were able to spread out and not run into each other or get in between the adults. The home has 2 washers and dryers and it looks like the whole house has had some updates except the game room. The cons.....well, we did have an issue with the cleanliness of the home. The table just looked dirty. We bought a table cover to go over it. The couches in the living room had stains on them of who knows what. They need a good steaming (the carpets too). We used one of the blankets to cover it up and sit comfortably. Lastly, the house didn't have a broom. I know not a big deal but it is when you're trying to clean up after yourself. We also had to buy one so we can keep the kitchen tidy. However, overall, despite the cons which were not too major, we would stay here again. This home did meet our needs, not exceed them, but it did meet them and for that reason we would gladly stay again.

The house design was nice, 2 bedrooms on each side of the house (4 all together), a great family room and kitchen. Plenty of room to spread out. The back deck with spa was really nice with views of the lake. The master bedroom has a queen bed that was unusable, damage to the bed frame caused the bed to sink severely in the middle. Most of the chairs where damaged so there was a shortage of seating both inside and out. Plumbing issues in the master bath prevented us from taking advantage of the nice bathroom in the newer section. Definite pluses and minuses to the place. Not near anything within walking distance, but centrally located. All in a all a descent house.

Do not expect much from the management company, Big Bear Vacations. When alerted to the problems the management really did not seem to care or do much to correct the problems. The maintenance staff had a nice guy on it though.
