Inland EmpireGreat cabin!
Left on 02/02/2012 for a stay in January 2012
Beautiful cabin! The pictures don't do it justice. All my friends and family loved it, they all have stayed at cabins before and they all agreed that this has been one of the best cabins yet. Very spacious and accommodating. The cabin of suppose to fit 12 people and space showed it, also the kitchen was big enough and had enough pans and utensils for the 12. All in all if I end up needing a big cabin this will be my choice!

Palm SpringsFun time.
Left on 12/21/2011 for a stay in December 2011
House was very comfortable for a family of 12. Kids had their own little apt to relax in. Nice large dining area for all to eat together. Did have a few little problems...oven door didn't close securely, heater vents were full of dust (with 3 firemen in the house, there was a concern for fire with dirty heater filters) Vacuum cleaner didn't work, no mop or broom to keep floors clean. No breadboards to chop. Old coffee & mold was left in the coffee maker.

LAFirst Time Mistake
Left on 10/07/2011 for a stay in December 2010
When I went with friends the pricing seemed right for what we bought. In the end, it was more than what we thought. The place was too big for the amount of people who were there. So we're going back with more people and it should be perfect if only the hot tubs and heater were working properly. The location is a quiet dead end street. No pool table.

Left on 08/17/2011 for a stay in July 2011
We had all our children come and stay for a "camp out"experience. We had a great time there and it was our first time at Big Bear. We enjoyed the area and was able to spend time with each other for those 3 days. We will come back if the need arrises because of our experience.

Orange CountyThe cabin was worth the trip.
Left on 02/02/2011 for a stay in January 2011
The cabin itself was extremely nice. The look on the outside wasn't so great but when you go in, you had this nice warm feeling to it. Here are my thoughts:
Pros:
- Extremely Spacious
- Tons of things to do (pool table, jacuzzi, sauna, board games, tv w/ DVD player, etc)
- Sauna was extremely nice and hot.
- Very close to Summit Mountain & Bear Mountain
- Had all the kitchen utensils, dryer & washer, etc
- When we needed help, they came within an hour to help us.
Cons:
- Furniture & Kitchen need some work. Tables was not stable, bed wasn't comfortable as I wanted it.
- Jacuzzi needs cleaning. The water was very murky and it had this weird smell to it. We called the guys out but all he did was throw in the chlorine that was on the ground. They couldn't change the water.
- The toilet in the main bedroom needs to be better because you had to hold your hand on the handle to flush the toilet.
- When you turn up the thermostats, it was extremely hot upstairs, and extremely cold downstairs
I would definitely come back again. -

Left on 01/17/2011 for a stay in December 2010
Great Cabin for large family, plenty of bathrooms and hot water. If concern with steps do not rent this place, too many steps to get to the front door. Great location for sliding around the cabin with the kids.

The house was great. Only problems where the number of icy steps leading up to the front door (approx 25) and the parking. The steep driveway and extra parking area were snowed in and there was no snow shovel on the property to use. One of our cars got stuck and we had to have it towed out and then we had to call a service to come and clear out a place for us to park since there is absolutely no parking allowed on the street. But once we got inside the house we were comfy and cozy.

People at the office were very friendly. Housekeeping was not up to par. The house was big enough. The location was ideal. . The best was the location of the house , the kichen and the cable t.v. and wifi. The least was very poor housekeeping. Sticky floors,Misrepresented extra queen bedroom in detached addition, and no extra bathroom paper and trash bags. One very important item that maybe should be disclosed pertaining to this property prior to anyone renting is the many steps to get to the house. Very difficoult for anyone with walking disabities to overcome.

Thank you for your feedback on our Elk's Lodge #1045. Big Bear Vacations boasts a 24 hour maintenance department as well as a housekeeping department located at our office. Our notes in your reservation indicted that you reported a carpet stain, but there was no mention of sticky floors or a request for us to send someone up. We would have been more than happy to send one of our housekeepers up if we were aware. The bed in the detached room had just been replaced by a full bed and it was changed in the description of the property. We are sorry that this was not mentioned to you at check in. If you would of mentioned the issue of walking disabilities to any of our agents, they would of mentioned that this home did have stairs going up to the main house. We do hope that you will return to spend another vacation with us soon.

It was very comfortable and provided a superfluous amount of entertainment, which is always a plus when traveling with college students. I only wish the check-in time could be a little earlier, and the check-out time could be a little later, especially if no one is booked before or after your stay, rather than having to pay a fee.

Overall the property was amazing! All the bedrooms were more than comfortable and spacious. The game room/bar area was the main hang out point which was great.
There were only a couple of draw backs for this property but it didnt slow us down.
1.There was no radio/Ipod hookup or other form of source of music.
2. The steps were SUPER icy and slippery(it was winer and snowed) But the proprety looked liked the snow hadn't been shoveled in a couple of weeks.
3. If you you tried to use more than 1 shower at a time no one got hot water.
Other than those 3 issues, it was a GREAT TIME!!!! We will be staying here again next year for sure. -

Upon arrival to the elk lodge #1045 our children ages 3yr-triplets and 11yr daughter ran into the cabin to select their room and explore. We shared the cabin with my sister/fiance and mother/uncle and were breath taken as we all walked in. The serenity, tranquility and hospitality big bear brought is highly reccommended. The cabin was clean and well kept. All the necesities were supplied. The cabin is home oriented it felt like we never left home. All the rooms had extra blankets and the beds were very comfortable, clean and fresh no old smells. The restrooms were very clean no stains and plenty of hot water. The kitchen had everything you needed even a bread maker. We loved the big dinning table, the different games for all ages supplied in the game room. The extra cabin with the pool table-great for extra family. Great for families to go hiking in the wilderness. We didn't get into the jacuzzi because everyone forgot their proper attire so this is a great excuse for us to go back and enjoy big bear cabin. Thanks for a great memory and fast and easy service at big bear vacations.

We had a spectacular visit. We went ziplining then came back to the cabin to relax and enjoy the sanctity of the cabin. We made good use of the Jacuzzi and the kitchen. The beds were incredibly comfortable. We were pleased that the bedrooms were quiet and private. Our favorite time together was sunset on the deck in front as we listened to the birds and watched the squirrels frolic. Thanks for making this special b-day a peaceful, pleasant trip.
