The cabin had character. This is no game room just a garge that was a good to store our skis and snow boards. The master was nice but the boards under bed where falling out. The water pressure was very low it took for ever to take a shower. Read more

There were no toilet paper in any of the restrooms. There were spider webs upstairs in da hallways and a dead spider in the downstairs shower. The darts were broken and there wasn't a game table in the garage. The boards of the master suite bed kept falling out everytime u tossed and turned in your sleep. There was no frying pan and the dish soap was watered down. Other than that, place was quiet for being on the main road. The master tub was very lovely.
Good place to stay with family

Nice home a bit dated minus the master bedroom slept 10 comfortably although we were only there for one night. Several spiders noticed and master bedroom mattress had a big dip/sag in the middle and couch pull out mattress was messed up.

Not worth the price - not as advertised!!!

Where do I start?
#1) The place does not have a game room in the garage like it states. We had 5 kids and 2 teenage boys that were really looking forward to this! It's just a cold garage with an awkward tv up in the corner??
#2) For a house that fits 10+ there are only 3 dining room chairs around a tiny table!!!
#3) The couch downstairs is a nice size but is so old and gross, we didn't even want to sit on it.
#4) The upstairs master is probably the only thing nice about it. It looks like they were starting to renovate and only got to the upstairs master! The fireplace is nice and the bathroom is nice with the jacuzzi tub. However, the be is so high! With kids, we had to have a chair on the side to climb up!
#5) The guest rooms upstairs had really horrible/cheap blinds that didn't keep any light out. My sister had to put sheets up over the windows (super tacky).
#6) The location is right on the corner of the main street, so not optimal for little kids that wanted to go out and play in the front yard.
#7) The heater downstairs is in a really awkward place on the opposite side of the family room...took forever to get warmed up.
Overall...We would not stay there again and think they should really update their listing. Too bad, because we spent a lot of money and it was a huge family event. We usually love big Bear Vacation Rentals, so I think we'd stick with them, but make sure we inquire more about the place before we got there.
Great location for average accomodations

The house is in a great location, literally walking distance to Bear Mountain. The master bedroom was great, but the rest of the house was mediocre. We were a group of 8 and they claimed it would sleep 10, which would have been really cramped!!! We had one knife for 10 people, so it definitely lacked a few supplies!! The driveway is also on an incline so we had a tough time getting out every day with the amount of snow that fell that weekend!! But I would stay there again, as long as we were less than 10 people!!

The accomodations were suitable. The home was located right down the street from Bear Mountain, which was really cool. The home was clean and cozy.
My only complaint is that the driveway is a down slope and with all the snow this made for an adventure for us "snow impaired" individuals.

It was a great place and great time to getaway with close friends. We all really needed it, and all had a great time. the beds were amazingly comfortable, and the showers nice and hot. We're glad it snowed on our last day there, perfected the trip for us. We do plan to go again, but don't know when.
Hopefully in the near future this trip will happen, and for a longer period of time.

A place away from society since no wireless signal nor Internet.

The first night, there were someone outside trying to pull a prank on us, which make the girls all scared because of the sound. Also, I wish that this house was equipped with wireless Internet because it was hard to not have Internet nor cell phone. However, this house was really clean and roomy for 10 people.
Clumsy start, but great finnish!

I have little bit mixed feelings about this cabin. When we came it was literally freezing in the cabin. Everything was shut down, water, gas, heat. We started with little adventure and look for all those things to work. After we finally found everything it took awhile to let the rusty water go away, but the biggest problem was the heat. A Little heat unit for the whole cabin!! After several hours of heating on full power with no much result, we have decided to go and buy us some heaters and wood for fireplace. We start all heaters on full power and in few hours it was nice and cozy in our cabin. Since then our stay was blast. We had a lots of fun. I guess a little bit of heat in the mountains makes a difference;o) We truly enjoyed ourselves and would repeat it again.
Enjoyed the stay except for some issues...

My family stayed there overnight, it was a good stay except for that hot water system is not working, bed sheets/comforters had not been washed yet because they were all lying just on the floor inside a storage. When we entered the house, it was smelly probably because there was no occupant renting the house. For an overnight stay plus we were all tired, we had a good night sleep.
Home was nice - Big Bear Vacations Company was HORRIBLE

We stayed here for 1 night around Christmas. The home was $250 per night but with all the fees we payed $460 for the one night. But we were okay with that because it sleeps up to 10 people and the home itself was pretty nice. Here were our issues with the whole experience:
1) Upon arrival they told us only 3 cars were allowed on the premises. There was no street parking so we had to shuttle people from a parking lot a few miles away, not fun when it is freezing and there is snow on the roads. They should have let us know the 3 car limit beforehand.
2) Although there was a $120 cleaning fee they still made us wash all of our own dishes. Kind of gross right? That means the people before us washed the dishes that we are going to use now, and who knows if they did a good job? And if we left any unclean dishes there was a fee of $25 or $50! They also made us take our own trash and charged a large fee if all trash and recyclables were not removed from the premises.
3) The ad said there was a Foosball table and dart board. There was no Foosball table at all and the dart board did not work (it was an electronic one).
4) The deck, which was supposed to be a nice place to bbq and hang out, was not shoveled, it was covered in ice and snow.
Big Bear Vacations did not set our expectations very well at all. And when I was checking in they treated me like a kid that was throwing a big party, however I am 28 years old and was there with my family and friends (who were waiting outside in the car). They were very unaccommodating and confrontational when dealing with them. I had a very bad experience overall.
But again, the cabin was nice (minus the missing foosball table, dart board, and large deck we couldn't use).
Hope your experience is better if/when you stay here or book with Big Bear Vacations.
