The little cabin by the lake is, indeed, a little cabin by the lake. However, it's a poorly maintained little cabin by the lake. The kitchen faucet had no hot water. The extra blanket for the bed was covered in cat/dog hair. There was a coffee pot in the kitchen, but no coffee filters. It's run down and, in our opinion, not a great value for the money. (approx. $160/night) Read more

This cabin is a disgrace, old, dirty and the shower floor is so old that the concrete is eaten away.
I can not believe that anyone who had prior knowledge who stay in this cabin. It is a disgrace and reflects poorly on your management company.

We had a great stay. Everything was provided in the cabin that we needed. It was great weather and so were able to enjoy hiking and just sitting out on the porch of the cabin and reading.
We had a great time and would certainly want to do it again.

If you are looking for a rustic cabin where you can reminisce bygone days, this is the place. Staying at this cabin it is easy to picture the adventuresome souls who dared to travel long dusty roads to spend their summer holidays at this beautiful mountain resort. The location of the resort right on the lake cannot be surpassed at similar properties in this price range. The location is far enough from the village to be quite, but still close enough to walk. It could use a few new dishes in the cupboard and new blanket on comfortable king size bed. There is need for a couple of low wattage wall lamps in the living room (the one in place does not work, seems like a short). The bathroom is surprisingly rooming. Read more
We have purchased new dishes and silverware for our lodge units.

first of all there was a tractor parked by our cabin, trash all around, doors left open, fences that needed mending. the area looked so uncared for. dog hair on the pillow cases. white stuff on the bedspread. we threw it on the floor and covered the pillows with our clothes. the door was hard to close, so we kept a chair under the knob to keep us safe. curtains were old besides ugly. the couch, old and you sank into it. thank God the bed was comfortable. It was nice to wake up by the lake, but come on! the place needs a lot of work . Read more
It sounds like your vacation was not going so well
We did do a lot to your unit Sunset #101 prior to your arrival like;
1. Deep clean of interior
2. The outside grounds were spotless due to a subcontracted landscaping crew that a wedding hired for this date in time
3. The curtains were replaced in February along with drapes and the new TV
Addressing your door
We do have a great 24 hour maintenance service that can always take care of issues like this immediately. With a simple call to our front desk we could have looked into relocating you to a different cabin that would better suite your interest.
Overall we would love to have you back and show how much we care about your stay. We were unaware that there were hardships.

Very nice location but I would reccomend for summer or a time when there was more snow. The price was ok (150)but they said the rate would would be raised in the summer which I think would be too expensive.

Nice little cabin for 2 people. Enjoyed the view of the lake. Wished the water boiler didn't run out of hot water so quickly... but had a nice heater ready after the shower. Would book and stay there again.

The consummate Big Bear Lake Experience!

Our cabin at Big Bear lake was exactly what everyone should have when staying at Big Bear: quaint, cozyt, homey...not 'Holiday-Inn-style' by any means; but rather; rustic, charming and earthy.
Very peaceful, pleasant location; very quiet; lots of hot water; very comfortable bed... exactly how everyone should experience Big Bear lake.
Our hostess, Jackie, was very pleasant and knowledgeable about the area...she helped us get around and find the features we were seeking.
We will return and try to rent the same place again.

Cabins are in dire need of repair and upgrade; "pull out sofa" was not comfortable and broken - needed to request an air mattress (which was delivered promptly and was comfy); trash around courtyard was full for 3 days before being emptied; trash dumpster had no lid and was right next to our bedroom window; great pool and ping pong table and friendly staff; great location for beach and boating; I would stay again if cabins were updated and cleaner; our party of 18-20 may return next year, but may look for accommodations that are cleaner with similar access to boat ramp and beach for family... Reservation and check in/out was easy. We are very low maintanace and required no additional services or assistance so it is hard for me to comment to that regard. Went for daughter's 2nd birthday. The home was cute. Cozy for party of 2 tight with 3. We loved the location. It was awesome. Right next to the lake and nice walk to The Village. What I didn't like was, one of the required things to do before you leave is wash dishes; found that many dishes and utensil were not washed by previous renters. I also would have liked for property manager to do a little more meet and greet with renters and offer "things to do".

The location is excellent - you can see and walk to the lake. And the pool and spa would be nice in the summer. But while the home was advertised by Big Bear Vacations as suitable for 4 adults, it clearly was not. The bedroom was a nice size but the sleeping arrangements for the living room were unacceptable - very small futon that slides flat, not big enough for 2 adults. And in the kitchen there were only 2 coffee cups, 3 plates or bowls - never enough for all 4 of us to eat a meal together.

Awesome Customer Service, Ella was very sweet and helped me to choose a house according to my budget and expectations. What a disappointment as we checked in: pictures from website are made that room looks a lot bigger than really are, hair on the bathroom floor (FYI: no toilet paper because it's not part of accommodation), I wasn't sure if linen were changed because I found hair under blanket and gross spots on comforter that I don't want guess where did they come from.
Next day at the Office the manager gave us clean linen and offered room service at no charge. A little bit late because First Impression means everything! Read more

The location is really great. You are only feet away from the lake and one of the best fishing spots on the lake. It is very quiet. However, there is no internet access which can be challenging.

The location is perfect. The atmosphere friendly, unpretentious, nostalgic. The
cabins just need some updated appointments -- lighting is very poor, for
example. But the experience was five-star!

The staff at Big Bear Vacations were very helpful especially Matt and Cherie. The accomodations were excellent. We stay at not only this cabin but Lodgehouse 100 and Twin Pines 101 which were both great for a large group. I would recom, mend these facilities for anyone to come and visit.

We stayed with a huge group of friends at Shore Acres. We rented all the cabins but one so we had the place to ourselves to enjoy and relax at the beach or in the pool or in the courtyard! Right?
WRONG! The management company that owns this place sent huge groups of people from thier over 100 properties to come and use the little pool and beach at this property as a "community pool"! There was soooo many people that took over our property we couldn't use the pool, horseshoes, or let all the kids run around with out them getting run over!
When we confronted the management with our irritation that we rented 8 cabins at a large expense and expected to have the place to ourselves, and nowhere in the pages of rules did it say anything about it being the community property, they could care less. They charge you if you have more than one vehicle, and yet the place was a freeway of cars to use the pool. The cabins were VERY rustic, but have charm and were fun to stay in. A few had gas leaks inside that needed more attention than were given. The beach is not much of a beach, more just a place to dock a boat. No one would swim in it. It was pretty rough and dirty.
I would not recommend this place for groups, or for individuals. There are so many other properties you could stay and enjoy in the Big Bear area, you should find one of them!

It was just two of us and two dogs...The cabin could sleep 4 but 4 could not move around comfortably otherwise. Only 3 windows actually opened which was upsetting considering there is no AC and it was 80 plus degrees. Being next to the trash disposal for the entire complex also had its issues. On the upside, it was very dog friendly and very close to the water. Despite the heat and small space we had a good time and I would consider going back when it is not so hot. Read more
Thank you for your response to Sunset, Unit 101. This is a one bedroom unit. Some of the windows are built into the cabin and do not open. Wwe do have fans that help make a breeze in the cabin. Only 1% of the homes in Big Bear have air-conditioning. The nights in Big Bear are cool, even in the summer. We hope you didn't have a large inconvenience due to the heat.
