      The perfect family Christmas spot!

Left on 01/05/2012 for a stay in December 2011

We really were thrilled with this cabin.I have four adult sons and they thought I couldn't have made a better choice. Lots of room for everyone. They liked the game room and the large family room. I was happy to find a kitchen that had everything you need and a table with seating for six. We made snowmen and even had a place to sled out back. We really had a wonderful Christmas in this cabin, Thanks.
Ps. instructions on operating wood stoves would be helpful.

Great experience for the Family and the Dogs!!

Left on 11/30/2011 for a stay in November 2011

Loved this quaint cottage in the heart of Big Bear Lake. Just minutes from Big Bear City and Skiing. The house was great. 3 Stories with 2 bedrooms, a game room downstairs with a pool table/air hockey table, and a nice look through kitchen. We are definitely thinking about spending next Thanksgiving in Big Bear as well. My 70 Mother told my wife and child that this was the best Thanksgiving she's ever had. Sure, my cooking was part of the praise (kidding) but the city, the atmosphere and this beautiful cottage all helped make our 4 night stay memorable.

      Wonderful family time!

Left on 06/29/2011 for a stay in June 2011

Very nice unit, clean, comfortable and well equiped. At far end of lake away the village, quiet. Master bedroom was warm, a portable fan would have made it more comfortable. A few spiders and moths, but to be expected in a cabin environment!

      Pleasant cold stay

Left on 01/06/2011 for a stay in December 2010

The location is nice and the cabin has a large kitchen with a fun downstairs game room. The cabin was okay. I thought that it was central aC system but it did not and the downstairs room we stayed in was really cold. The heater that was in there was not working properly but luckily we found two little room heaters in the game room and used them. It was dangerous because we traveled with a 3 and 1 year old who like to touch everything. The upstairs room was really nice with a nice view and was not cold. There were a few brown spiders who kept creeping out and that made the beginning of the stay a bit disappointing. Overall okay but I would not stay there again. Last year we stayed at Tres Osos and really enjoyed that cabin, sadly it is no longer managed by this company.

      Dear Guest,
First of all, I would like to say that I am glad that you are a returning customer and I hope that the inconveniences that you faced will not change your perspective of Big Bear Vacations. Our goal as a company is to ensure your satisfaction. Our maintenance staff is on call 24hours a day to correct any problems such as a heater not working. Next time I encourage you to give us a call so that we may take care of the issue and help you enjoy your vacation. Big Bear is located in the heart of the San Bernardino National Forest, which is why we have such beautiful scenery. However, we do pay the price of brown furry spiders called Wolf Spiders. They are harmless, scary looking creatures that find warmth in cabins during the winter. I hope they will not keep you away, because we would love to have you back in one of the many cabins that we have that is comparable to Tres Osos.
      Have a great day!

      pleasant

Left on 12/31/2010 for a stay in December 2010

The cabin was clean. The sliding door near the front door was unable to lock but we managed to fix it ourselves so that was not a problem. The service was excellent. We had a problem with the heater and called in for service. About an hour later, a nice friendly gentleman came and fix the heater. We requested two portable heaters and he brought them to the cabin the very next day. We were very happy with the prompted and friendly service. The kids had so much fun playing in the snow at the side of the cabin. We didn't have to drive anywhere else for the kids to play on the snow with their snow boards.
It would be better if there were more lighting in the cabin. It was too dark at night in the cabin. We couldn't do much inside activities when the sun goes down. The mattresses were too old, needs to be replaced. The rollaway bed was useless, unable to sleep in it, new mattress desperately needed. The bottom line is all mattresses need to be replaced! The ping pong table was a lot of fun for the kids and adults but we couldn't play with the pool table because of missing balls. Other than that, we had a pleasant and fun time at the cabin.

Thank you for your response to our survey. The we removed the pool table from the description. The balls are smaller than normal and unable to find replacements. The mattresses in this house are only 3 years old. We are sorry they did not meet your needs. the cabin does have wood paneling as do a lot of homes in Big Bear. This does make a house look dark at night. We hope ou ar able to enjoy yourselves the next time you come to Big Bear.

      An OK Place to stay

Left on 12/29/2010 for a stay in December 2010

The entire cabin is very dark, need lights all the time, even in the morning. Watch out! Lots of spiders! Heater is not working properly. The location of the place is hard to find and is far from big bear mountain. Also, the rental office and the cleaning crew have no communication. On the day that we were leaving, we had some problems putting on the chains so we called the rental office and told them we might be late for the check-out. Some of our friends are still in the cabin when the cleaning crew came, and the cleaning guy was very rude and tried to kick my friends out. Very bad service.

      We loved the area.

Left on 09/15/2010 for a stay in September 2010

We loved the area. The house however was dark, doors did not work properly, other than that it was fine. Having a charcoal outdoor grill didn't seem very smart given the fact that it is in the middle of a dry forest. A gas grill would have been nice so we could cook outside.

      Almost Easter Wkend

Left on 03/31/2010 for a stay in March 2010

My family (6 of us) really enjoyed our long weekend at this cabin. We really liked the warm cabin feel, the multiple sleeping areas and the kids really liked the game room. There was snow so the kids had a blast sleding down the backyard slope. The are small areas for improvement which are mainly in the areas of housekeeping: the dishwasher has standing water in it, will not drain (so even though we washed our dishes in it, they may not be really sanitary); many, many large spiders; no can opener (which we did not discover until dinner time);only 1 small shampoo and 1 small bar of soap for each bathroom; not enough towels (thank heavens we brought some of our own)only 2 trash bags; lots of flash lights with no batteries in them, many light bulbs were burned out. Since the cost of a three night stay was almost $1,000.00 it would be nice to feel a bit more "spoiled" than we did.

Thank you for yor response to our survey on unit 1090, Talbot Treasure. We do leave a start-up of shampoo and soap in each bathroom. Our in house housekeeping department has been notified to leave more of these products in the units. We do have additional supplies of shamnpoos, soaps, trash bags and towels available at our on-site housekeeping/laundry site. Nice cozy cabin. We were 4 adults, 1 toddler and 1 dog. The game room was
very nice - there were toys for our son to play with. Our dog cuddled by the
fireplace and rested the entire weekend. Well equipped and the heaters were
working great! We will definitely return.

      not too bad..

Left on 03/17/2010 for a stay in March 2010

Big Bear customer service is always been good to us, very helpful. Staying at this house for one night is not too bad. The location is good not that far from the village and everything. What I like most about is the big open space in the back of the house for the kids to play and ofcourse the play room at the bottom floor of the house, it helps a lot because we have kids.

Clean cabin, good location.Kitchen was well equipped. Game room was fun.Beds were very comfortable. Plenty of extra blankets. Downstairs bedroom was a little on the cold side but there were space heaters available.
Was concerned about potential traffic noise as cabin is one house away from Big Bear Blvd. Proved not to be an issue. We felt very much at home here, and would rent this cabin again.
