Three bedroom, two bath, fireplace, 4 cable TVs, 4 DVD players, washer/dryer, and full kitchen with stove/oven, refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, blender, toaster, coffee maker, dishes, pots/pans, and more. Deck with barbecue and fenced backyard.
Bedroom one has a new queen bed, cable TV, and DVD player.
Bedroom two has a king bed, a twin bed, cable TV, and DVD player.
Bedroom three has a double bed, cable TV, and DVD player.
Livingroom has a twin size trundle bed.

Great cabin very close to Big Bear's Brewery! Not too fancy, but it was exactly perfect for our group. Only downside was no bathroom upstairs, so we all bunked downstairs as there were plenty of beds/couches/daybeds! Would definitely stay here again...

Negatives:
Home was plain looking overall when driving up compared to the immediate neighbors with more "wood" styled "cabins". Inside some very old furniture existed (sofa's with tears, carpets with stains, a pillow case with stains, musty smell that took a day to 'air out', some breaking/broken blinds, needed to use a lighter to light some of the stove top burners).
Positives:
Overall however very affordable -> 3 rooms -> each room with temperature controlled heaters! Big real fireplace, electric-fireplace/heater in master bedroom. 2 restrooms, small fenced backyard. Microwave/dishwasher, washer/dryer all availabe, room for 3 cars to park. Well stocked with soap/shampoo, toilet paper, utensils/pots/pans, basic cleaning supplies, extra blankets, additional sleeping areas in living/family rooms as well, and so on.
Summary:
For what you get for a place to sleep, relax talking or playing games with the family it's a great deal. myself and the kids and cousins had a great time. Some attention to the more aging or stained items would have made it perfect. -

The cabin was much bigger than I was expecting. The decor was dated and the place generally had a slightly shabby feel. The bed in the master bedroom was really uncomfortable but the others were better. However, they had a lovely new fridge and the house was very warm. One big concern was the heater in one of the upstairs rooms, it was turned off when we arrived so an engineer came out to relight it, however it went out again very soon after. We ended up leaving it turned off permanently as I was worried about it gassing us all. This really needs fixing as it is a safety issue.

9/21/11 Big Bear Cool Cabins is very happy to announce that the owners to Alpine Retreat have recently revamped the property for future guests enjoyment. As of today all broken furniture, chairs, and tables have been removed from the property. Extensive "Spring," cleaning has also been completed along with freshly cleaned carpets. Alpine Retreat now has a NEW side by side refrigerator. Along with the inside the outside has also been completely revamped and is anxiously awaiting its next guest!

I loved the cabin but we had other family coming up the next day and did not know until late that night that both couches that were supposed to be used as pull out beds for some of them were unusable. One was broken and the other would not open up at all. I did report this the next morning at checkout. We liked the location of the cabin and if the couches get fixed would definitely stay there again.

Pictures oversell this cabin. It was clean enough, just terribly neglected by the owner's. Needs lots of tlc, from the dirty, stained carpets that they attempt to hide with the use of way to many oversized area rugs that were trip hazards. To the doorhandles that fall off and broken chairs, end tables. One of the sofa beds took two big, strong men to pull out and barely get back in. The yard was in bad shape,dead weeds and no patio furniture to sit on outside while you BBQ across the driveway. Also the brickwork in front entry was all broke up and all of us at least once tripped on it. So at least it was pretty clean, just a disappointment of quality and upkeep.

We traveled with another family so there were 4 adults and 3 children. The King bed was great but we didn't have another large bed for the other couple. Also, the cleanliness was very poor. Lots of dust and debris on the floors. The heat system was great as we were plenty warm. The games and books were all a mess and the remote for the TV in the master bedroom was missing. The location and ease of check-in were great.

I went with a couple friends. the inside is just tiioo perfect.has everything you need. We took our own things but knew it had everything dishes and all of that it would have been great. Loved the experience there.

Decent cabin, good location, comfortable and a good price. Clean beds, Bathrooms and kitchen but the carpet was very dirty throughout the cabin. The carpet hadnt been cleaned in quite a while. No problems with anything mechanical but for a shower door that didnt close all the way. Did not have a working gas BBQ grill. It was worth the price but had we paid more I would have had higher expectations.
