First of all I would like to the say location was perfect, very close to the village. We also really enjoyed the backyard. It was fenced in and the kids loved playing in the snow.
The cabin was very old and dusty. The carpet and flooring were filty, our socks turned black from walking around. The entire cabin was dirty. Dirt that has accumulated over the years. We ended up leaving a day early, because my husband and son could not stop sneezing, water eyes, and coughing. Furniture was old and dirty, probably their since the 80's. I think if they painted, cleaned, updated the place it would an ideal cabin. Definitely needs some TLC. The service when we checked in was fine, no issues, easy, efficient and friendly. I would probably use the management co again but check to make sure the cabin was updated.Response from Big Bear Cool Cabins - 03/13/2013

Left on 01/11/2013 for a stay in January 2013
Was a good place to stay. Plenty of room but there is plenty of room left for cleanliness. Carpet could definitely be upgraded. House was good size and heater and water heater were very good. Cute little backyard area. We did call on check-in to let them know screen door was broken off the hinges and the promised to send someone out but no one showed up or called. Overall average place.

It was a great place it stay at and it was hassel free to work with the company. I just thought that we were over charged given that most of the cabins in the neighborhood were empty.

The location is good, but in that area can be too much traffic sometimes, takes few minutes to drive to the ski resorts.
Room enough for 6 people. Well kitchen equipment and more less clean.
We had good time there, and we can go back any time.
The only annoying thing was the fire alarms that are very sensitive, for example with the shower steam coming from the bathroom to the hall.
A nice touch was the Christmas decoration! -

Cute, comfortable, clean cabin. Great for small family or 2 couples. Very near to the alpine Slide. Small grocery store nearby, but quite far from the major groceries (Staters/Vons). If you are a "reader", bring a book light. No bright lights for reading purposes, but plenty of light for ordinary activities. We would stay here again.

We were told this place is walking distance to the lake, Although it was, it wasn't as close as we expected. The place was clean and cozy. I think the furniture should be updated in the living room I felt a bit itchy sitting on the couches. Overall a good experience for my parents. Great summer vacation stay.

The cabin was perfect for our visit to Big Bear. It was in a great location with plenty to do. The only down fall was there was no ironing board and iron and the upstairs smoke detector in the large bedroom is very sensitive. Went off when people opened the door after a shower. Otherwise it was perfect!

Very nice and cozy cabin. Great for the weekend, close to all. Parking space was just right for a regular sized crew cab pick-up, but anything bigger will have parking issues. Very clean and well kept up. Easy check-in, no complaints from us.
P.S. dont forget there are electric heaters in the closets of the bedrooms too,as we did.
Thank You, Big Bear Cool Cabins. -

We had a very nice stay at this very nicely appointed cabin in a beautiful rustic setting. We took walks every morning and enjoyed the neighborhood. We went into the village almost everyday which is a very short drive or a nice invigorating walk for those who wish to get a little exercise. There is a little grocery store right up the street, which made it very convenient when we wanted to eat in. We enjoyed our stay a great deal and the price is right and we look forward to staying again next year.

Thousand Oaks, CAPlenty of space, comfy overall but filthy!
Left on 07/07/2011 for a stay in July 2011
We stayed at "Bear n Tree" cabin and the floor was nasty. I had to sweep the kitchen/DR floor when we arrived, the carpet and flooring are 40 yrs old so imagine how nasty they are!! My son threw his Pjs down the stairs, disturbing the spiderwebs and dirt that was on the walls so then he was afraid to come down b/c of the stuff hanging from the wall. Moths are living there! When we opened the blanket, 4 of them came out of it (disgusting!!) and we spent every night killing moths in the bedrooms. They need to hire a new cleaning crew and replace all flooring and actually clean the walls in this place. If you're 20 and plan to be drunk the entire time it's fine but if you have a family and young kids (we have a 1 yr old...hands in mouth and walk/crawling so it was esp disgusting how filthy it was), I suggest trying some place else. Otherwise, beds were fine. Pillows very flat but there are plenty of them to stack so it was ok. Lots of space. Nothing really to walk to so needed to drive everywhere. Overall, average to below average. Even the dishes in the cabinet were hit/miss on being clean. Ran out of hand soap in one of the bathrooms and didn't find a replacement.

Thank you for taking time to share information regarding your stay; your feedback allows us to address any issues and identify them immediately. On behalf of Big Bear Cool Cabins I would like to apologize for the issues you experienced during your stay. According to our records you did not call during your stay and report these issues. Unfortunately up here in the mountains we are fortunate to have to experience nature at its best. With that said, moths are an everyday issue in the Big Bear Valley. I spoke with the owner of the property and we were informed that the carpet was actually replaced this last spring, and the property itself is not even 30 years old. All issues in regards to cleanliness have been resolved as of today. If there were unsatisfactory issues in regards to the condition of the home at the time of your visit we would have welcomed you to inform us of any situation. We pride ourselves on maintaining exceptional standards of customer service. With that said our guests’ satisfaction is our priority! Our office works very hard in our efforts of communication. We would have expected you to share your information at a time when we could have been helpful. We hope you will allow our company to welcome you to Big Bear in the future.
Thank you,

Very nice, clean cabin but we had difficulty regulating thermostat. It kept resetting to 55 degrees every few hours and when we returned from skiing or in the night we would find the temperature in cabin at 55. Also, cabin somewhat laking in kitchen utensils but still usable.
I would probably rent again in summer, but not winter.Response from Big Bear Cool Cabins - 03/18/2011
