Walking Pines is a wonderful cabin that is perfectly appointed for maximum enjoyment whether you are planning outdoor activities or indoor fun. This cabin is located in the neighborhood of the Aspen Glen Picnic area. Only steps away from this wonderful national forest area, great for exploration during the Spring, Summer, and Fall and snow play fun in the winter!

Walking Pines is less than a mile to the lake and the Big Bear Village with it’s shops, restaurants, cinemas, bowling alley, and fun zone. Also close to the Alpine slide, mini golf, water slides, and slick track. Winter season offers the Big Bear Snow Play Hill. These activities are tourist favorites all throughout the four seasons of the year.

The home is welcoming and warm with pine paneling throughout. The great room with its vaulted ceiling is open and spacious and offers a pool table, multiple sofas for comfort, a flat screen TV & DVD. An awesome wood burning fireplace is situated perfectly to command attention anytime of the year. Sit around, play a game of pool all the while being warmed by the fire that is so special in a mountain cabin. The windows in the main living area give the cabin an open feeling, the home sits on a corner which allows guests to view from many angles of the home, giving it a more open feeling.

The kitchen is to one side of the room and has lots of spacious cabinets as well as a long counter top. This makes working in the kitchen a joy, lots of room to spread things out. Use the extra long counter as a buffet for holiday entertaining. The dining table is a nice size for 6 and doubles as a great place to play board games or cards, or just sit back, relax, and enjoy a fresh cup of coffee in the morning while reading the paper.

The two bedrooms, downstairs, offer different options for sleeping. One bedroom has a King as well as a TV, the other offers a Queen and a Twin over Twin Bunk Bed.

Moving up to the loft is an adventure as the stairway leading up to it is a spiral staircase, makes you feel like it’s the stairway to heaven, and for kids, it is! The loft is another great source of entertainment. The foosball game table is in the loft as it some comfy chairs situated opposite another TV with VCR and DVD. Kids will be entertained for hours playing their gaming system on the TV or playing foosball, watching their favorite movie on the VCR or DVD. There’s a bathroom up in the loft as well so they won’t need to come down until dinner!

The back yard has a nice cement patio where you can relax on the furniture, BBQ on the grill or just sit outdoors and listen to nature sounds you don’t hear down the hill. The yard is private as it is completely fenced. This makes it a great place for families with young children as well as their pets.

The washer and dryer offered is brand new and is nice to have for extended stays or just to dry children’s clothes in the winter when they come in for lunch after a morning or afternoon of snow play.

  Walking Pines was a wonderful house and was an outstanding choice. It was close to all activities and we enjoyed ourselves very much. House had a lot of space and comformable. Games (pool table and fursoball) were a hit for the 12 years old. Day park across the street was great for walking the dog and the boys riding their bikes. Service was outstanding. This was our second time we have rented from Gold Rush and we were just as happy.
