At Ned’s Hideaway, as you open the door and step inside you notice a large room offering many options to explore. The foosball table in front of the large picture window appears to please but the couch in front of the TV looks exceptionally inviting, and, although your plan was to enjoy a good book or master a few cross word puzzles, it seems as though you were seated just for a moment when the weight of your eyelids won out. Once you’re inside this wonderful cabin the stress seems to melt away as if it never was there to begin with. This is the magic of the mountains and Big Bear Lake ’s greatest medicine against stress.

In the late afternoon or late in the evening you decide its time to light up the comforts of the living room with a fire in the enormous stove that sits to one side of the living room. Again, you gaze at the dancing flames and get mesmerized by its hypnotic effect and are ready to doze off to sleepy town. No need to count sheep, the high altitude and fresh air brings a whole new experience to the word relaxation.

Wake up and begin your day at Ned’s Hideaway to the rays of the sun illuminating the cabin and you know it’s an omen for a great day ahead. Within minutes you can smell the freshly brewed coffee and homemade lumberjack pancakes just waiting to fill your emerging appetite from the fresh mountain air. Ned’s Hideaway cabin in Big Bear has been thoughtfully appointed to offer entertainment when guests are indoors. A new flat screen TV is in the master bedroom as well as the living room. The upstairs den has a TV as well, although not a flat screen, this ensures there’s no lack of electronic entertainment options anywhere in the cabin. There’s an option to have the TV channels come in a variety of foreign languages.

The living room also offers a foosball table, just waiting to challenge guests to a game. The upstairs den is cozy and offers an alternative space for kids or adults who want to be separated from the activities down in the living room.

This cabin in Big Bear is equipped to host up to eight guests, perfectly furnished for two families to enjoy.   We had 8 people and this home had plenty of room for all of us. We loved the location. Although we had to drive a mile or two to get to ski slopes, the sledding area was a very easy walk (a block maybe). There is a little brewery / grill that is also within a short block, which was very convenient. The bathrooms were somewhat outdated - not dirty, but old tile. The "fireplace" did not work well as smoke filled the room even though the flu was open. Comfortable and nice, though not luxurious. Good value for the price we paid on a holiday weekend.

  The owner just acquired the cabin and is anxious to please their guests which is reflected in the pricing.
