Secluded budget-priced guesthouse, friendly forest

Peacefully secluded, budget-priced lodging on 160 quiet acres of lush forest with great views of mountains across our small meadows. We only accomodate one party at a time (2 on rare occasions). Private lake with dock, shaded bench and rowboat. Shady trails through the awesome forest and along our private mossy creeks. Nearby swimming, hot springs and fishing. Our friendly staff provides trail maps and directions to nearby waterfalls, lakes and other attractions. We are very pet friendly; dogs may run free. The garden guesthouse, simple yet comfortable, has a complete... eat-in kitchen, A/C or heat, with chaise-lounges, chairs, BBQ and picnic table under the oaks, a splash pool and a pet pool. Its airy bedroom has a queen canopy bed and a twin bed, both with premium mattress sets and unscented linens and towels, line-dried in the fresh mountain air. The living room has a queen sofa bed, DVD player and movies for all ages (no tv). Groups needing more space may also use the 2 bedrooms in the historic log house at the same rate as the guesthouse.

Daily rates are $85 for one, $106 for 2 persons, $17 for each additional person 14 years and older; $12.75 per child under 14 years; $10 per dog and there is no weight limit. We are at 2500' elevation. The forest on and around the property includes Douglas fir, cedar, madrone, Ponderosa pine, sugar pine, dogwood, ferns, wild azalea, lilac and wild roses. Our trails offer an awesome assortment of lush vegetation interspersed with mossy streams. The silence is broken only by birdsong and the occasional honey bee revelling at our flowers. Located 60 scenic miles North East of Redding, adjoining the Shasta National Forest in far northern California.

About an hour away by car is McArthur-Burney Falls State Park with breathtaking waterfalls and paved trails. One and a half hours away is Mt Shasta or Lassen Volcanic Nat Pk. Close by us are surprising Hatchet Falls, the Pit River, Iron Canyon Lake, and the McCloud River.
