Fred Thomas Resort is located on a private peaceful wooded point of land over looking the main part of Big Lake Chetac and Thomas Bay. A true feeling of the northwoods surrounds this area with abundant forrest land. A short 5 minute drive will find you in the village of Birchwood which has a small grocery store, two convenience stores, eating establishments, gift shops, beauty shops, bank, hardware store, and lumber yard. A few more minutes and you can be golfing at Tagalong on Red Cedar Lake.

We have been going to Fred Thomas Resort for more than 40 years and have stayed in many different cabins. I believe this is the finest resort on the lake. The cabins are immaculate, well equipped with everything that you need to make your vacation a great experience. We love the covered boat dock. The service is wonderful in this family owned and operated facility. We look forward to each time we spend a vacation there. It is like coming home, only better. The Thomas family are friendly, helpful and simply the greatest!!!

My family has been going to Fred Thomas for 50 Years and (3) generations. You will not find a better value for you money than this facility. We have stayed in many of the cabins and apartments and they are all completely modern and beautify decorated. Great fishing along with great people. You will not find a facility of this caliber within a several hundred mile radius. Can't wait to make the trip each year.
