Fred Thomas Resort is located on a private peaceful wooded point of land over looking the main part of Big Lake Chetac and Thomas Bay. A true feeling of the northwoods surrounds this area with abundant forrest land. A short 5 minute drive will find you in the village of Birchwood which has a small grocery store, two convenience stores, eating establishments, gift shops, beauty shops, bank, hardware store, and lumber yard. A few more minutes and you can be golfing at Tagalong on Red Cedar Lake.

The people at Fred Thomas resort are the most friendly people that I have every met. The owners Julie & Linda make you feel like you have known them for a life time even though this was the first time I was there. Upon arrival there is an employee that helps you unload your car and carries your luggage to your cabin. The grounds are immaculate, the cottages are also immaculate, the fish cleaning house is just as clean as everything else. The accommodations in the cottage is immaculate, the office is very accommodating to purchase miscellaneous items along with the bait shop. So if you want an excellent resort with the best accommodations, friendly people and clean rooms the resort I recommend is Fred Thomas Resort for your best vacation you will ever have. And yes the fishing is excellent. Tom Becella
