Adorable little cottage in a town full of character
At the base of the 75 steps leading to the property, luggage in hand, I secretly hoped the pictures on the website were accurate. When I approached the gate and met Bob, one of the hosts, I knew immediately I had made the right decision. The house is wonderful. An old miners cabin that Bob and Jeff remodeled, it is small and cozy with charm and character. The deck and garden area is a great place to relax, drink some wine in the evening, and enjoy the many humming birds that come around. It is just the right size for an intimate time with a loved one, or as a getaway to relax. The house is within walking distance of some great restaurants and bars and there is plenty to do.
Bob and Jeff are excellent hosts, very friendly but also respectful of privacy. They go the extra mile and had fresh eggs, milk, coffee, and granola ready as soon as you check in. It was a wonderful experience overall and I am planning on staying there again over the Labor Day weekend.

A haven for the weary soul
From the moment we contacted Bob and through the duration of our stay he was professional, courteous and always delivered beyond expectation. The cottage was immaculate, charming and cozy and we immediately felt at home there. The outdoor area was a little garden paradise that we found sanctity in every day and our little maltipoo could not get enough of it. Jeff would silently and faithfully refill the bird feeders so that we could enjoy the added ambiance of birdsong throughout the day. Our hosts thoughtfully provided breakfast items for the first morning so that we could stay in and de-stress. Bisbee is also lovely and everything is within walking distance of the cottage. Being able to stay at the Doublejack however, really made it a vacation for us. We are looking forward to visiting Bisbee again just so we can stay at the Doublejack!

Charming Bisbee guesthouse made our stay!
The Doublejack Guesthouse is exactly as advertised, but a write-up can't adequately describe its charm. It is peaceful and quiet - a perfect home base for exploration of Bisbee and a really nice place to hang out in and of itself. We enjoyed the birds that came to the bird feeders which were filled each morning. Sitting on the patio and enjoying the solitude and the view was a particular delight. The guesthouse is very well appointed and ideal for a romantic getaway for two people. We appreciated the breakfast items left for us the day we arrived. Would stay again in a heartbeat.

Amazing,Perfect, and Relaxing
This was our second visit to the Double jack guesthouse and we loved it even more. Bob greeted us upon arrival like family and provided the best in provisions for several breakfasts. We loved taking our coffee up on the hill beside the guesthouse and taking in the views of the surrounding area while the sun came over the hill. We can't wait to get back for more of Bob and Jeff's hospitality. Thanks again and we look forward to our next visit. Bryan & Art

class, style and taste
Class, style and taste describes this well appointed rental. Beautifull heritage building nestled on a hillside overlooking Bisbee. A great place for lovers to connect and enjoy without even leaving the well lanscaped property.

We had the pleasure of spending three nights at the Doublejack. It is located high on a hill overlooking Bisbee, but within a short walk of the shops and restaurants. As other reviews have said, Bob and Jeff paid a lot of attention to detail when preparing this guesthouse, and the result is a comfortable retreat for relaxation, and a perfect space to come home to after exploring the town. The bed was very comfortable, and the furnishings are charming. Every time we sat on the adorable patio we discovered something new.
Fantastic! Loved it :)
Though I only got to stay one night, the Doublejack was an absolute delight. So inviting. Beautiful view. Comfortable. Classy.
Wish I could have stayed a whole week!

The perfect place to fall in love again...or for the very first
I flew in all the way from alaska to spend several days at the Doublejack Guesthouse and to explore Bisbee and the surrounding area. Your excellent website gave us a nice preview of what to expect and a great selection of places to explore. The DJ is the kind of place you are hoping to find everytime you make a reservation online. Our experience was first rate in everyway and I now have a "favorite" stopover point when I travel to the Southwest. You guys have really set the standard for lodging. Hope to return soon! Ps: You have the clearest skies I have ever seen for viewing the Milky Way - truly amazing!
We loved it!
This place has it all! Its clean, beautifully decorated, and comfortable. The outdoor dining/lounge areas are superb. The location is perfect, as well. Thanks to Bob and Jeff!
Quiet and lovely
We escaped our crazy life with young kids and spent three glorious days walking around Bisbee, eating great food, and relaxing at the Doublejack Guesthouse. Birds around the birdfeeder while we made coffee, we braved a bit of early morning chill to climb up a serene sitting area to watch the sun rise over the mountain. The view was lovely and we actually had time to chat without constant interruptions! We enjoyed walking around town, checking out unique houses and hitting up galleries and antique shops. Can't wait to go back. We would definitely recommend a stay at the Doublejack. Clean and modern with a rustic feel.
Wonderful host, fun accomodation!!
The house has the clear charm of an antique - but everything works. The setup is cosy and central to Old Bisbee. Bob, the host, was equally charming. Between him, and the information in the house, we had a lot of ideas about what to do and visit when we were in Bisbee (the website is also an excellent source of local information). We wanted to go to supper in Old Mexico, and Bob was able to give us specific directions to a wonderful place to eat (and where to get gelato after our spicy supper). Our stay in Bisbee was too short, but if we return, we will plan to stay at the Doublejack again. The only downside of the location is that there are quite a few stairs to come up to the place and Bisbee is a higher elevation, so you are out of breath at the top unless you are in very good shape. It is worth the climb.
Wonderful, relaxing retreat high up in Bisbee canyon
A wonderful place: an updated miner' cabin with a luxurious bathroom, king sized bed and great view of the town. Everything has been thoughtfully provided for their guests: excellent coffee to grind, eggs, granola, milk and sourdough bread for breakfast. That way you can enjoy the morning sun on the patio and the numerous multicolored birds at the feeder in morning. And the quiet! I really loved sitting on the upper patio in the evening, experiencing the too- rare sound of deafening, absolute quiet, while mentally zoning out on the linear pattern of white street lights illuminating the opposite canyon and the random- pattern blinking of the purple peace sign on the hill to the left. Or you might hear distant music from the town, or the kid in the house above you might practice his violin. It is a step back in time in a very special historic place, yet with a rustic luxury and conveniences of the present. Three days was not enough. A week would be fabulous.
Wonderful Time in Bisbee
We had a wonderful time at the Doublejack. The place is beautiful, the location is serene, and the hosts are friendly without being intrusive. We wish we were back there right now.
The Reviews Don't Lie
The property is exactly as described. Please go to their short video of the "walk through" of the guesthouse. The town of Bisbee is querky, artistic and unique. The people are extremely friendly in a real sense with little artificial pretentions of caring. Bob and Jeff are two good examples of the caring that is shown towards visitors. It is refreshing to be able to have a genuine conversation with the owners of a vacation rental. Bob is a great hands on owner, who will help you find the best places to eat, visit, etc. If you want a restful vacation away from the usual tourist haunts, there is no better place than Bisbee, and no better place to rest after a day of sightseeing than the DoubleJack. We look forward to returning in the not too distant future - the best review that I can give
Cheers to Bob and Jeff

A great place to stay in old Bisbee!
Bob and Jeff were great hosts, meeting us on arrival, and making sure our holiday got off to the best start. The Doublejack guesthouse is really comfortable, with great attention to detail, furnishings and use of colour.
The location above old Bisbee affords wonderful views from the terrace and garden area, and is especially atmospheric at night, with clear skies above and soft lights picking out the other homes across the valley.
We enjoyed the quirkiness of Bisbee, with its interesting shops and diverse eateries. There is good walking in the area, and lots of mining history.
We definitely recommend the Doublejack to anyone wanting something a bit special and memorable.
This was a restful, relaxing, peaceful slice of Paradise.
Bob and Jeff were consummate hosts, respecting our privacy while being 100% available when required. The guesthouse was clean, well-equipped, beautifully decorated and totally charming with a very comfortable King bed. The deck got the morning sun and overlooked the town. It was simply the perfect accommodation from which to explore the quirky town of Old Bisbee and the surrounding area (the Queen Mine, the local arts scene, boutique shopping and awesome restaurants). We played golf twice at the local course which was fun, challenging and picturesque. Highly recommeded.

Fantastic Bisbee Guesthouse
My husband and I were looking for somewhere to stay in Bisbee, over the MLK weekend that would allow dogs. As we were researching we came upon Doublejack. Bob, Jeff and Trixy were warm and welcoming all of us into their guesthouse.
Everything shown and written on their website about the guesthouse is better seen in person. Fantastic views, great shopping, good food and awesome people. You can't go wrong with the Doublejack.
Bob and Jeff have left no detail behind. They make sure you are set up to have a memorable stay. Just be sure to wear your walking shoes.
Best accomidations in Town
After spending the weekend at the Doublejack Gueathouse I can't think of a place I would have rather stayed. It was the same size and price as a hotel room but offered all the the advantages of renting a house, and we couldn't have asked for better hosts, Bob and Jeff have created a great experience. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was well appointed ant clean. Having a kitchen was great. We were able to cook our meals and enjoy them at one of several seating areas on the property. We were in walking distance to all the town attractions. Next time I visit Bisbee the Doublejack will be my first choice.
Come for the turquoise stay for the bread . . .
Doublejack Guesthouse provided a perfect mountain oasis for us-- modern luxury meets vintage miner charm. Bob has created a very thoughtful atmosphere for the Bisbee, AZ traveler complete with fresh sourdough bread, locally roasted whole bean coffee to grind, a carafe of juice and fresh eggs for breakfast, loads of information on the area, bird watching books, an insanely comfortable bed along with just about every amenity you can think of needing otherwise. Staying here made life easy (with the exception of the giant staircase to get up there-- which you will find, of course, is well worth the journey!!) We would highly recommend this joint to anyone looking for a cabin with both class and character.
The Best of Bisbee
DoubleJack 2 two men working as a team on a jack hammer in a minng environment. This Guesthouse is a fine example of teamwork leading to the best of creativity and detail. The owners have repurposed every wall and window to craft an updated yet historic experience. It inspires us to be more creative in our own home. The kitchen is very well stocked from Doublejack coffee to spices to a wok for making yummy meals. The bathroom is wonderfully designed including a two headed shower that is hard to leave! The birds are fed every morning leading to a bird sanctuary which is a pieceful place to be. Although perched on a hillside up 75 steps the Doublejack is a peaceful and private haven in the middle of town. We have now stayed twice and look forward to returning time and time again.
This was the perfect place for our stay in Bisbee. Great attention to detail, very comfortable, and a great location. Free outdoor stair master with every trip to and from town.
Relaxing, cozy getaway at beautiful DoubleJack Guesthouse in Bis
My husband and I stayed at the DoubleJack Guesthouse in Bisbee over a weekend in mid November. The guesthouse is beautiful with every attention to detail to make your stay carefree and relaxing. It is very cozy yet elegant. Bob and Jeff are wonderful hosts that are available and friendly while giving you all the privacy you need. There was delicious coffee, OJ, sourdough bread, and eggs in the kitchen so we could relax and have breakfast on the patio, watch the birds, and not have to hurry out into town our first morning. The guesthouse is walking distance to downtown Bisbee so we were able to park the car and explore on foot. If you are not able bodied this is not the place for you as there are many stairs up to the guesthouse and around Bisbee. This town is know for its stairs! Be sure to eat at Cafe Rokas and visit the olive oil and honey shops. Oh and don't forget the coffee! We would highly recommend staying here and will stay again when we go back to Bisbee. Thanks Bob and Jeff for a great stay!
Steamboat Springs, CO
We loved staying at the Doublejack! Every detail is thought of including breakfast items, local lore and info, indoor comfort as well as lovely outdoor space (including the birdfeeder). Bob and Jeff were great to work with and extremely helpful. Without a doubt, I would recommend the Doublejack to friends! Loved Bisbee too, funky but fabulous!

Hooked on Doublejack!
Repeat visitors say it all - The Doublejack guesthouse is great! My husband and I visit Bisbee annually from the Phoenix area and this was our 3rd stay at the Doublejack. The cabin is adorable, the views are the best, the bed is super comfortable, the bathroom is large and nice, and the owners are great. Once we arrive, the car never moves, we can walk to anything downtown. We can't wait to make the gourmet coffee in the morning and watch the birds on the feeders outside the windows. We have already secured our reservation for next year!!!
Best Stay ever!
This B&B; should get 10 stars!
Bird watching from our breakfast table was a special plus for us-
it is set up just right for morning coffee bird watching, which we love.
Bob, the owner, greeted us warmly. We really appreciated the provided breakfast goods. The whole guesthouse has been very tastefully renovated. Extensive western DVD collection was great.
The location is just above a main street and close to everything.
You will need to walk up a flight of stairs but I have found this to be the standard layout in this city.
I can't say enough good things about The Doublejack Guesthouse...
Stayed October 2013, travelled as a couple
This was an awesome getaway to say the least!!!
My wife and I had been looking forward to staying at the Doublejack since the moment we had booked our stay. After walking up the steps the Doublejack is even better than it appears in the video on the website. The kitchen is completely furnished down to a measuring scoop for their excellent coffee in the morning. The hosts made our stay in Bisbee something to remember. If you are going to stay in Bisbee more than a day this is where you want to be. We'll be back soon!
Gorgeous cottage with wonderful hosts
This is one of our favorite escape places - we return here every time we are in the area. The hosts send you all information you need to plan your trip, and are exceptionally thoughtful, but allow plenty of privacy. Cottage is in the perfect location in Bisbee, is well equipped for cooking, and is very nicely decorated. The yard has a great view and landscaping right out of a magazine. Fabulous!
Little place with big ambiance for a few nights
This guesthouse was unique because it was in a neighborhood. My grandson (age 9 yr) and I travel on school breaks and this fall we chose Bisbee. The accommodations were better than home! The owners Bob and Jeff have spared nothing in their remodel of the miner's cabin. The hall, two rooms and a generous bath were further enhanced by a patio and a terrace. Two nights was not enough to take full advantage of the amenities. Access was by climbing and descending many steps, pack accordingly! We treasured the hands off hospitality of the owners, letting the home speak for them. The treasures found in the ground during the installation of a beautiful rocky hillside garden and terrace were saved and provide context for the 100 plus years of life in the town of Bisbee. Expect to be nurtured here by the quiet, the view, the space.

Great stay in Bisbee
Very cute place, great location to walk anywhere in Bisbee and very well equipped...had everything we needed.

Favorite accommodation ever
Great experience, from getting the tour from Bob, to quiet evenings on private outdoor sitting area. Beautiful guest house, super clean and well kept, great amenities inside and out, comfortable and secluded from town, but short walk to town and entertainment. Relaxing and quiet, hosts were amazing, and we loved the whole visit!
A great little hide-away!
We can't wait to return to the DoubleJack! Great hosts who add the "little touches" that make guests feel like family. We enjoyed our bubble baths in the clawfoot tub - taking us back to our youth and the breakfast fixings that allowed us to stay and enjoy the cottage just a little bit longer. Great pride is apparent in this guesthouse and Bob & Jeff's hard work has paid off. Bisbee is a great little town with lots of steps. The steps to the DoubleJack are just part of the charm. Look no further!
Great place to stay:)
I stayed at the Doublejack with my two daughters' and couldn't have asked for a better place. The attention to detail and amazing outdoor landscape will take your breath away. The hosts are very friendly and helpful. I had lived in Bisbee 15 years ago and this was my first trip back since that time and the doublejack really made our trip more wonderful than we could have imagined.
This guesthouse was the perfect place for a relaxing fun weekend in Bisbee. The house was beautifully restored, reflecting the history of Bisbee and the artful design of the owners. Everything we could have wanted was well anticipated from the fresh local bread, eggs, coffee and juice to recommendations for our first nights dinner. We thoroughly enjoyed stargazing and bird watching from the great patio and spending our days exploring the hills and valleys of historic Bisbee. We will be back!
The property is absolutely darling! Well decorated and appointed. Very comfortable. The patio oasis is beautiful, serene and a fantastic way to enjoy morning coffee and evening views of downtown. We would definitely stay here again! Bob was very accomodating and professional. Great service and we enjoyed a wondeful getaway!

Hosts are great. Property is great. They have thought of everything to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable. We will absolutely stay here again! Stairs, however, are not for the faint of heart!
I choose a close to home vacation, with my granddaughter, and must say we were both thrilled with our stay at the Doublejack Guesthouse in historic Bisbee, AZ.
Bob and Jeff are absolutely wonderful hosts! They supplied us with fresh coffee beans, fresh brown eggs, a loaf of divine sourdough bread, a pitcher of juice and milk, along with condiments in the refrigerator. Everything you need is here included towels, kitchen appliances, pots, pans, dishes, etc. We love to cook so this was especially nice.
The guesthouse is wonderfully decorated, well-appointed, and super clean. If you like baths there's even a claw-foot tub to relax weary bones after a days walk through historic Bisbee. What a refreshing way to end a day!
If you are looking for gorgeous sunrises and great views, open the french door and walk out onto the porch. The upper deck provides even better views!
We couldn't have asked for more; albeit, I forgot to take oil to make the brownies, and Bob provided that as well :D
I would highly recommend Doublejack Guesthouse to anyone looking to stay in historic Bisbee. Access to all the restaurants, shops, and tours, is just a short walk away.

Great R&R; Retreat in Old Bisbee!
My husband and I spent five fabulous days at this beautifully appointed guesthouse hidden away on the hillside above infamous Brewery Gulch. The owners have gone out of their way to create a top-quality retreat space with all the goodies of home. We enjoyed sitting on the lush deck, watching the birds and drinking our morning coffee and star-gazing from the upper patio at night. This is an excellent hideaway in which to explore this artful, historical vertical town, one of our favorite destinations. Thank you, Bob and Jeff, for your superb hospitality and making us feel so welcome!
Eureka Springs, AR
Perfect headquarters for a first-time visitor
A charm-chocked guesthouse with an eagle's nest view of the town below and mountains in the distance, the Doublejack combines historic character with here-and-now convenience and comfort both inside and out.
To be candid, the 75 steps up from the parking area are challenging. Inside tip: leave the suitcases in the car and use lighter-weight tote bags for a gradual unpacking. The rewards are high-altitude views, especially from the private deck just outside the living room's French doors and a location that seems remote even though it's within walking distance of Bisbee's historic downtown.
Inside, the guesthouse offers both rusticity and refinement: In the bath, a claw-footed tub and a generous shower roomy enough for two; in the kitchen, all the comforts of home, including a coffee grinder.
This was the perfect weekend getaway from the Phoenix area! After many years of living in Scottsdale and hearing a lot of good things about Bisbee we finally went for a visit. I was lucky that when making plans I found the Doublejack online and checked it out. It was the perfect guesthouse for us and made our Bisbee weekend all the better. Bob was a great host and made us feel very welcome.
One Very Satisfied Customer
It was a sanctuary for my soul.
I had an absolutely perfect restoration experience at the Doublejack. The place feels like your own private little resort hidden away from the hustle and bustle of the rest of the world. Beautiful views and the guesthouse is immaculate. I look forward to returning!

What a unique experience to stay in this wonderful guesthouse.
To stay in this guesthouse with all its history perched high above Bisbee was more than we anticipated. The views from the hill made the uphill climb worth every step. The house was comfy & clean. We enjoyed watching the birds taking turns at the bird feeder & the hummingbirds chasing each other around. We enjoyed the fresh eggs & loved the UniqueCoffee for breakfast. We enjoyed walking down to the stores below. There are so many other meandering stairs to climb & explore! All the merchants were so nice. The countryside around Bisbee was beautiful along with the awesome view of the Lavender Pit. We wish that we lived closer so that we could down for weekend trips. Bob & Jeff were so nice. And we really enjoyed our time with Trixie.
Thank you so much for sharing your home with us.
What a nice experience staying here. The little details that the hosts provide were unexpected and pleasant. I would highly recommend The Doublejack Guesthouse to anyone. The bed was king sized and very comfortable. The claw footed tub was a real throw back to the past.I would absolutely stay here where you have your own living areas, compared to some old small "historic" hotel room. The hosts provided eggs, local fresh roasted coffee and delicious artisan rustic bread (so you would have your first breakfast) in if you wanted))he hosts are filled with an array of knowledge as far as places to dine ,shop and visit. The hosts suggestion of the queen mine tour was a wonderful one.We look forward to returning soon!
Jeff and Bob were gracious hosts and the rental unit is phenomenal. Views from the patio are breath-taking and the gardens outside the unit are very quiet and relaxing! Five minute walk to the middle of Brewery Gulch. Stay here--you'll love it!
Secluded paradise in the heart of Old Town Bisbee
My husband and I celebrated our first wedding anniversary by spending two nights at the Doublejack. We couldn't have been more pleased. It was delightfully secluded with a gorgeous deck full of birds and natural beauty, yet still just a few minutes walk from all the action. The guest house was beautifully painted and furnished and has everything you could possibly need. Bob and Jeff to out of their way to ensure you are comfortable. There's fresh bread, eggs, milk, juice and coffee to get you going in the morning. My husband spent hours photographing the amazing variety of hummingbirds that visit the feeders on the deck. I also enjoyed and appreciated the stair climb up to our haven after a day of indulging in all the great food and drink that Bisbee has to offer. Loved it here! We will be back soon!

Our favorite guesthouse
We have always enjoyed spending a night in Bisbee, but the experience in now complete. The Doublejack is the perfect place to stay. The privacy, the comfort, the walk to town. The beautiful deck with the hummingbird feeder that was being defended by a beautiful Rufous hummingbird. Thanks for another great stay. Sue & Don
Best deal in Bisbee
We weren't quite sure what to expect - I stumbled across the Double Jack on an online search,,,but everything exceeded our expectations! I cannot say enough positive things. Bob was a very welcoming host, beautifully furnished & decorated cabin, very private setting (complete with deck and terraced garden), yet still within walking distance of everything, wonderful attention to detail (breakfast fixings provided, info & recommendations on places to eat, shop, etc) - and I've paid twice as much for hotel rooms that were not nearly as enjoyable. Worth every single one of the 72 steps to get there. Bisbee is only 2 hours from Tucson, making this the perfect weekend getaway - we're already planning our next visit
The perfect place to stay in Bisbee
Bisbee is my hometown and I have been going back to visit since 1968 and looking for the perfect place to stay and found it at the Doublejack Guesthouse. It is comfortable, beautifully decorated, quiet, private, with great views and is equipped with everything you could possibly need/want. Bob and Jeff are warm, friendly and helpful. We spent hours on our patio watching the hummingbirds and relaxing. I highly recommend this place and all that is has to offer!

This is our second trip to bisbee and decided to make this an annual trip due to the beautiful and breath taking scenery and the doublejack guesthouse is a big part of that decision. It's beautifully restored and the patio scenery lets you escape from your everyday problems. Bob was so polite and considerate making sure we had everything we needed to make our stay an pleasant and relaxing one. Thanks again bob and we will see you again in the future.

The Doublejack Guesthouse was so cute and welcoming. Bob was very nice and even greeted us once we arrived. The snacks he provided for us saved us one of the nights for dinner. Once we came back to the guesthouse after a busy day sightseeing we didn't want to leave, having the bread and cheese was awesome. Grilled cheeses on the patio! It's so quiet at the guesthouse, you definitely can find some relaxation and peace staying there. Be careful what you pack, you do not want a heavy suitcase on this trip. Lots of stairs but great work out.
Overall we enjoyed our stay and if we ever make it back to Bisbee we will definitely be staying at the Doublejack!
This makes Bisbee
If in Bisbee you only have one choice that being the doublejack...if you like cliche's it really is home away from home...after a day out to return to the doublejack and your favorite beverage... Is perfect... Feast on the view... The double jack is well appointed...decorated to match it's surrounding... A lovely find and accomodating hosts... Not sre if Bisbee makes the doublejack or the doublejack makes Bisbee but what a perfect pair!!! I can only so go and find out for yourself... As both are a gem or a diamond in the rough!!!
Great Host, Great Vibe
Bisbee was extra special last Friday night and the following morning because of this great place. Bob is a perfect host and everything was well executed and warmly given.
Superb place to stay
The three room Doublejack is a delight. Bed and living room/kitchen were separate. The lr/kitchen space is a good space for two. Comfortable bed. Great shower. The standalone bath is a bit short, but even for someone 5'10" it was okay to put one's feet up. The owners had eggs, juice, milk, coffee stocked for us. We were all set up for the first morning. Plenty of plates, etc. Bob was an excellent host. The downsides: for people who aren't in good shape the many stairs might be a deterrent. The couch was one of those that you need pillows behind you to sit on it... not our favorite. The location is good. There are a number of spaces to sit outdoors. When the sun came out it was a great place to just sit and read. The value for this place is superb. We will definitely return.

Amazing place!! Wickedly unique!!!
We absolutely loved the Doublejack Guesthouse. Great Host (Bob)showed us around upon our arrival like no other host had done, and we just fell in love with the surroundings in Bisbee. We hiked at least 1000 stairs while in Bisbee and really enjoied the variety of housing options. Loved the art?? store on Main, the Bisbee coffee house??,and the Mining history museum was amazing. Best of all were our accomodations at the Doublejack we had an amazing view, great outside space and all the fixins for a great breakfast. Easy walk into town from the Doublejack, plus the fact that the decor and furnishings were almost perfect in every way. Thanks Bob and Jeff
What a great find!
We recently stayed for three nights and the minute we walked in the door we knew it was the perfect place for us. Bob & Jeff thought of everything and it's such a cozy place. Great shower, bed, art, kitchen, patio, stereo, view and rusty relics of Old Bisbee. If you are thinking of visiting Bisbee check their calendar now! Enjoy!

The Doublejack Guesthouse was a real find - first class - uniqu
This was not an ordinary guesthouse - nor an ordinary stay. We went for one night - walked through the door and knew we needed to stay longer - right there - right then. The Doublejack has a homely elegance with such attention to detail whether it is the wire chicken for the eggs in the frig or the information for local restaurants or feeding birds each morning. Bob made us feel very welcomed. They have embraced the Bisbee community and are well respected by everyone we met. This was a real treat!
Quiet hillside hideaway
Stayed at the DoubleJack 11 nights for R & R and to escape winter. Cabin is quiet, well-appointed, king bed is super comfy and the claw foot was very much appreciated by me and there is also a large double-headed shower which is nice for men. Nice outdoor deck/patio. You will love the birds, the coffee which is provided and the view. Convenient location. Yes, there are 86 stairs to your front door but don't let that keep you from experiencing the DoubleJack, you will feel rejuvenated when you check-out! Btw, Bisbee is a town full of stairs, peace signs, funky art, good food and friendly folks. Bob & Jeff have paid great attention to detail at the DoubleJack (warm colors on the walls and even kitchen floor and fun art everywhere!) Don't miss the sweet Mimosa Market (you can walk to it and pick out a nice bottle of wine to complete your stay at the DoubleJack!)
The best ever! I would give it 10 stars if it were possible.
Everything about Doublejack Guesthouse is superb: the service provided by the owners, the comfort and beauty of the home, the views from the deck, the birds singing, the sun shining through the windows, the shower (best ever!), the town below and the hiking trails just a few steps above the house. It provided us with the most cozy and relaxing vacation possible. We stayed 5 nights and begged to have an additional night but it was already reserved. Next time we are in that part of arizona, we will plan to stay exclusively at Doublejack Guesthouse.
Very relaxing stay in Bisbee
Staying at the Doublejack was fun and relaxing. It's a beautifully restored old miner's cabin high in the hills of Bisbee. Great king size bed and fun movie library. Bob , our host, was very helpfull in pointing out great restaurants and things to see and do around Bisbee. I'd definately stay here again on my next trip to Bisbee.
Excellent weekend getaway
This is our second visit to the Doublejack Guesthouse. We enjoyed the 2 minute walk to historic downtown Bisbee as well as the cozy night in with more than enough accomodations to meet your needs. This will definitely become a tradition of our. Great views. Beautiful property. Great owners. Highly recommend!
couldn't be better
If you are lucky enough to find an available date at the Doublejack, grab it. This guesthouse is the perfect way to get the real Bisbee experience. Located in the heart of old Bisbee, the Doublejack has all the creature comforts of a first class B&B; - great coffee, great sheets, fabulous decor - and genuine privacy. Your host, Bob,will make you feel welcome and comfortable, without invading your space. One bit of advice: Bisbee is a "hill town" which means lots of steps and lots of walking. If Bisbee is part of an extended vacation, pack a separate, light weight bag with the essentials you need for your stay there and stash the rest of your baggage in your car. If your staying for a while (lucky you!),bring your stuff to the guest house in several trips. By the time you leave the Doublejack, you'll be rested and rejuvenated and your legs will be stronger. We've stayed at many wonderful places around the country and the Doublejack is by far our favorite.
wonderful find. cabin is cute, very nicely and tastefully remodeled. We loved the way it was perched on this hillside and totally enjoyed the deck. Bob was gracious and perfect host.
We absolutely loved our stay at the DoubleJack! In fact, on the second night we decided to just stay in! It was so comfy and cozy we didn't want to leave. The views, trails and attention to detail in the guesthouse was outstanding. It was our first time to Bisbee and although we thought it was beautiful we wouldn't have enjoyed it nearly as much as if we were not staying at the DoubleJack.
I absolutely loved the Doublejack Guesthouse. It really felt like home. My BFF and our dogs spent Thanksgiving weekend here and had such a lovely time! It's pretty walkable to almost everything, and the stairs helped work off all of the calories amassed from Bisbee's great restaurants. :)
I felt very safe and cozy here. My favorite part was definitely the claw foot tub in the awesome purple bathroom! All in all a great deal for an incredibly laid-back escape. Thanks guys!
What a wonderful place to unwind, relax and see the beautiful sc
What a perfect place to spend Christmas week at. This was suppose to be our second Christmas here. We made reservation last February so were looking forward all year to our visit. However, knee surgery has ruined this visit. But we will definitely return at a later date.
So I hope others can take our place and enjoy the wonderful hospitality of Bob and Jeff and their fantastic guest house for December, 2012.
A nice little place in a great little town
My wife and I had a wonderful time at Bob and Jeff's place. Bob was incredibly accomodating to special requests and helped us greatly in finding some great food (while warning us against the bad restaurants).
Thanks Bob and Jeff!

Wonderful place to get-away relax and explore.
Service was outstanding. Arrived and was greeted very warmly. We were provided with fixings for breakfast the first morning. We were given many recommendations of places to see and eat.
The guesthouse was very comfortable and clean. Outside patio area was wonderful. Great view of the valley and mountains. Nice and quiet during the day and in the evening. The stars late at night were amazing. The guesthouse was walking distance to all the shops and resturants.
Loved the location and it felt like a home away from home.

Romantic getaway, cosy cottage for two!
Doublejack guest house was a delightful surprise find, nestled in the hills of Bisbee aZ. The little house was so quaint and comfortable that we didn't mind the 75 old steps to reach the garden gate. Owner's Bob abd Jeff did a fantastic job renovating this little house and turning it into a romantic getaway with all the buzzers and bells. Attention to detail is what I noticed most. The bed was huge and comfortable, the shower to die for and the clawfoot tub an extra addition. The towels were thick and soft. Lighting through out was thoughtful and added to the romantic feel of the space. The sweet little kitchen and main room was decorated with southwest color, and the fridge was stocked with a pretty glass pitcher of milk, some eggs in a wire chicken shaped basket, a pitcher of juice and a stick of butter, also there was a nice loaf of sourdogh bread and Doublejack special blend coffee that made for a tasty breakfast. The terraces, yes that's plural, and deck made for the best places to lounge and look over the activity and architecture of Bisbee. My sweety and I felt like it was "our" little place and if we owned it we couldn't have done it better. Quite, private, great ceilings, and asthetic details. We will definitely be back to our Doublejack hide-a-way!

Delightful Cabin _ Great View
We couldn't wait to return to the Doublejack Guesthouse this year! Return visitors say volumes about the accommodations, service, and ambiance. The Doublejack is adorable, the owner Bob is friendly, informative, and helpful. The guesthouse is spotless, the decor is eclectic (just like Bisbee), and the deck is a delightful spot for a glass of wine. We loved it again this year and have already reserved it for the same time next year!
Best place to stay in Bisbee
I have stayed in Bisbee many times, but never in such a wonderful, magical place. The accommodations were perfect and the setting was magical. Unfortunately, I had to stay there by myself, but it is the most romantic place! The terraced backyard is private and has a stunning view of Bisbee Gulch and the lighted "B" on the mountain. The private label coffee was awesome, too!
A High altitude Delight
The Double Jack is a delightful comfortable little gem nestled in the hilltops of Bisbee.
On arrival we were welcomed by Bob and shown around DJ , it is beautifully maintained, well furnished and with ample toiletries in the gorgeous bathroom.
Bob also ensures there is plenty of information in the house to make sure you know where to go for good food, great beer and places of interest, ( Santiagos, Bisbee Brewery, Queen Mine Tour and the Brewery I know I said it twice it was so good)
Bob had kindly laid on breakfast provisions of Eggs, milk and Bread. There was also a supply of great coffee, teas etc.
The views from DJ are amazing and the gardens are just so lovely to sit in to watch the Sun come up and to watch the birds feeding.
The DJ is high up from the main streets but as long as you don't mind the hike up the steps it is well worth it.
Word of warning avoid taking Travellers Cheques many of the retailers in Bisbee won' t take them (Bob did though) Circle K were quite rude about them but the Mimosa Market took them, the bank wouldn't cash them!!!
Visiting on a Monday and Tuesday many of the shops and restaurants are closed but that didn't spoil our visit.
We really enjoyed our visit to Bisbee its a quirky little town and driving around is certainly an experience.
Should we ever visit again we will definitely stay at DJ and would definitely recommend it.
Perfect weekend getaway
Bob and Jeff are the perfect hosts, and the guesthouse is a perfect retreat. It is well-decorated, well-stocked, and the views from the backyard are gorgeous. I recommend staying here anytime you're in town, and if I ever move to Bisbee, I hope Bob and Jeff are still there, because they are wonderful company.
My husband and I stayed here for a weekend, and the hardest decisions we had to make was whether to go out and hit the town or stay in and enjoy the cozy Doublejack Guest house. Thanks to the assistance, hospitality, and knowledge of Bob and Jeff (the owners), we were able to pack the three days we had with a ton of adventure and some relaxing downtime. We can't wait to go back, and we suggest you stay there too! Enjoy!

The Best Vacation Rental? The Best Vacation Rental.
We stayed at the Doublejack for one night - it was a Friday, and we actually lucked into finding the place through Google, and were even luckier that it was available that same day (apparently, the people who had reserved the guesthouse cancelled at the last minute). We were confident from the Doublejack's website that it would be a nice, comfortable place, but our expectations were blown out of the water.
The house, itself, is beautifully decorated. Every room is tastefully accented from floor to ceiling. Unlike many such rentals, there is absolutely no kitsch; just fantastic taste. Moreover, the outdoor patio and viewing area add a further dimension of aesthetic beauty -- from the view, to the lovely foliage, to the feeding birds in the morning.
In addition to the beauty of the house, the feel of the place is incredible. We never would have thought it possible to feel so at home after spending a mere few hours in a place, but the Doublejack was so comfortable that we couldn't help but feel that way. The fact that every room's lighting can be controlled by a dimmer switch added enormously to the mood and comfort.
Of course, this all of this is about the house and decor, about which we could continue to effuse praise. But we don't want to hesitate to mention the proximity to other aspects of Bisbee; the house is located a short (and wonderfully scenic, downhill) walk from night life, restaurants, and all the rest that Bisbee has to offer.
We also don't want to forget to mention that Bob and Jeff are incredible hosts. They were friendly, attentive when necessary, and completely respectful of our privacy.
In brief summary, we loved the place. In fact, we booked our next vacation there as we were checking out -- we'll be back in just over a month and couldn't be happier.

Loved the cottage & the privacy. We will be back! Quick two hours from Tucson.

Perfect place to stay in Bisbee
We have stayed at many places in Bisbee, and Doublejack is our favorite. It is a short walk to downtown, very scenic, as you walk through historic neighborhoods. Since Doublejack is perched high in the canyon, you get great views of Bisbee, but it is also very quiet, with no traffic passing your place, whatsoever. It is a beautiful place to stay, inside and out, and the owners are great hosts, very friendly and helpful. Doublejack is our first choice whenever we go to Bisbee !
Spent a wonderful weekend at the Doublejack guesthouse this past august! Beautiful and secluded but close enough to easily walk to restaurants in town. Bob was so helpful and friendly. Would definitely stay here again!!

Comfort, Hospitality, relaxation with a dash of exercise.
I would challenge a Mom to make you feel more welcome. The quest house is beautiful and pristine with the warmth of home. Bob was always available if we needed anything while still respecting our privacy. We've styed in other places in Bisbee but none twice. This will definitely be a repeat. Thanks Bob & Jeff for creating and such a great place to stay. Lynn & Victor
We enjoy our stay. The amenities were nice and the bed extra comfortable.
Best of the Best
Doublejack Guesthouse is the best vacation rental that I have ever stayed at. The hosts have prepared all aspects of their guest home to the ultimate "T". The adventure begins at the bottom on the stairs. It's a bit of a climb (just pack what you need), but all the way up, you just know that something different awaits at the top of the stairs. Your host will show you all around the property and what a property it is, both inside and out. Once you get settled, its a short walk to the nightlife of Bisbee. After discovering the town, the night sky can be enjoyed from many layered patio settings. The guesthouse is the jewel. Decorated and maintained with love and western chic style, by the owners themselves. The bathroom shower is big enough for a few friends to enjoy : ) In the morning, enjoy the fresh eggs, granola, juice, milk, and coffee - all compliments of the hosts. Don't miss this experience. I really enjoyed being up and away of the downtown scene, but close enough to stroll to it.

One of the best experiences of our arizona travels
Love it love it love it. Hasten all to the beautiful Doublejack guesthouse tucked into a hillside of the mile-high city of Bisbee...Bob and Jeff are wonderful (there if you need them, not if you don't) and the cottage is an absolute experience of joy. Everything you could possibly need for a romantic getaway; a place you never want to leave. Run (even up those stairs!) don't walk to this magical abode.
Great views and beautiful birds in Bisbee!
Bob and Jeff have created a high-quality guesthouse. Starting with the 2 beautiful outside sitting areas all the way to the fine details inside the house, such as the warm colors on the walls, choices in artwork, and delicious coffee. We enjoyed being able to walk to restaurants, stores, and museums. It was nice having them next door, although we rarely saw either one. They allowed us to have our dog with us and promptly refunded our pet deposit. When we are in Bisbee again, we will definitely book into the Doublejack.
Beautiful cabin, thoughtful amenities, super comfy bed, great view - our stay was perfect. Bob was a wonderful host and Trixie's a love. We couldn't have enjoyed our stay more and will definitely come back to Doublejack next time we come to Bisbee.
Quaint peaceful rest
This was a wonderful place to stay for my girlfriend and me. We wanted a guesthouse to stay in for just one night, and Bob gave us just that.
It had a luxurious shower and nice bed. The kitchen/living room area provided a wonderful breakfast nook. I liked that he had a stereo in there as we ate in the morning.
It seems all the bases were covered. My only suggestion was perhaps to have a couple of spare pillows of varying sizes. I personally like pillows that are relatively thin, while his pillows were quite thick. I didn't really consider examining the pillows as he gave us the walkthrough. Other than that, it was a spotless beautiful place to stay.

An amazing Old Bisbee experience
An historic mining cabin perched on a hillside, beautifully restored with all the modern comforts, is what we enjoyed at our 2 nights at the DG. By day we took advantage of the central location by strolling the winding roads and climbing the many staircases that led to the fascinating homes and the shopping area. Evenings were spent on the private terrace with the lights of Brewery Gulch below, the illuminated "B" on the hillside across the canyon, and lots of stars above.
The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare meals, and we enjoyed the delicious granola, local coffee and other goodies provided. The bed was very comfy. High-speed internet worked great with a strong signal. Roomy shower, thick towels... no amenity was lacking!
We come to Bisbee to "recharge our batteries", and there's no better place to do it than the DJ. We'll be back!
Caring hosts & fab decor--highly recommend!
We love Bisbee, but love it even more thanks to Bob at the Doublejack Guesthouse! He was very gracious and patient-- even when we kept calling to say we'd be arriving later than we thought. He met us when we pulled up, gave us a tour and offered wonderful suggestions of what to visit and where to eat during our short stay, and his recommendations exceeded our expectations-- do not miss the Bisbee Museum, Copper Queen Mine tour, or a dinner at Cafe Roka! The guesthouse was cozy and clean, and beautifully decorated (by Bob's partner) yet still maintained many original details and fixtures (check out the clawfoot tub). Bob left us fresh coffee, eggs & juice from the farmer's market, and we had a glorious breakfast on the sunny deck the first morning, and a relaxing bath in the antique tub at night. Yes, the stairs are steep, but we needed it to work off the 4 course meal we had at Cafe Roka-- every bit as good as any we've had in San Francisco. Thanks again, Bob-- we can't wait to come back and visit the Doublejack!

From the moment I arrived, this wonderful cottage set the tone for an unforgettable visit to Bisbee. Bob, one of the owners, met me and showed me the cottage. No detail has been overlooked, no need left unmet. The decor is authentic, kitchen well stocked, including breakfast fixins', the bed so comfy. The property is in the middle of (residential) Old Bisbee, yet incredibly secluded and private. The deck and garden spots with chairs are perfect for a glass of wine, sunset, or reading. No need to drive to town, just walk the stairs that are everywhere in Bisbee! There is not a thing I would change about Doublejack, and I intend to return asap!
Gorgeous guesthouse with fabulous hosts
Wonderful hosts Bob and Jeff were welcoming and highly knowledgeable about what to see and do in Bisbee, yet allowed the perfect amount of privacy. Guesthouse is gorgeous, with a private and well-landscaped yard overlooking part of the city. Easy to walk to restaurants from the home. Bob and Jeff feed the many hummingbirds, which are a joy to watch. The bed is very comfortable, house very nicely appointed, and kitchen (equipped with everything you need to prepare meals) and other areas perfect for a getaway. Bob and Jeff have thought of every detail, from fresh local coffee beans to a small flashlight on the keychain.
I have stayed in most bed and breakfast inns and hotels in Bisbee, and this is the nicest by far.
Cape Cod, MA
We spent 2 nights at this delightful guesthouse! The owner is friendly and very knowledgeable about the area, and also provided us with some breakfast items and coffee. The guesthouse has been updated for comfort, but retains the charm of its origins as a miner's cabin. The private terraced yard allows fantastic views of the hills. We took a wonderful hike up the path behind the house and saw some of the charming architecture of Bisbee. The Doublejack is highly recommended and definately a memorable experience! Can't wait to visit again!

Secluded and quiet right in the middle of Bisbee
What an awesome place. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Doublejack. The guesthouse was extremely comfortable and private. It was a short walk from everything yet amazingly quiet. The fresh eggs and breakfast fixings made for lazy, relaxing mornings. We loved it and will be going back soon.
So beautiful with all the comforts of home!
Loved our week-end at the Doublejack and Bob was such a wonderful host with great dining recommendations/restaurant tips. The decks are beautiful and really enjoyed the birdwatching and just the tranquility and privacy of the DJ...A great place!!!

The Doublejack is a hidden gem!
Been to Bisbee eight times in approximately 12 years, and the Doublejack is our best "find" ever! Many things to look forward to when you stay: Inside, warm and vivid decor, walk-in double shower, and kitchen amenities; outside, a wonderful panorama of Brewery Gulch, a cozy deck, birds at the feeders, and at night, stars almost "touchable!" Do come ready to get some exercise; the stairs provide a daily aerobic workout!
Bob and Jeff are great hosts, always available if you need them, invisible when you don't! We plan to make our next reservations early!
Thanks again, Bob and Jeff. The Doublejack is a real jewel!

The Best Place To Stay in Bisbee, Arizona!
The Doublejack Guest House more than exceeded our expectations. Check-in was a breeze and hosts Bob and Jeff provided us with a loaf of fresh-baked bread, farm-fresh eggs, milk, juice and coffee beans, so that we didn't have to forage for breakfast supplies right away. The guesthouse was so cute and comfy, and the views amazing. It was such a treat to watch the birds eat while we had our early morning coffee in the living room, and we indulged in a bit of bubbly on the back terrace. We highly recommend the DoubleJack and would stay there again. But beware! There really are 75 steps going up to the place!
A little piece of heaven
The house is so well appointed. It's small but doesn't feel it at all. The deck is amazing. You can see for miles. You can watch the birds feed from your couch. It's a wonderful, relaxing place to call your home away from home.
Very happy with our stay
I could stare out from the patio for days and days. Our hosts were courteous, respectful, and friendly (without being nosey or intrusive, far from it). The coffee was fantastic! Everything was great! The bed was comfortable, the shower is huge, and it felt like home. We'd like to come back soon.
Excellent, relaxing and memorable
I can't think of one thing that could have been better. It was completely excellent.

A charming retreat in Bisbee
We spent a delightful week at the Doublejack. It has a great view of Bisbee from the deck and patio, plenty of sun and lots of birds at the feeder. The thought behind the design and layout of the house and the equipping of the kitchen make it a comfortable easeful place to stay. We would definitely return. The only caution has to do with access. The 75 steps leading to the property make it most appealing to the fit.
Nice quaint guesthouse. Very clean and comfortable.

Great place in a great little town.
We had a restful but active stay in Bisbee. Hiked every day in the Chircahuas and the Huachucas, saw the sandhill cranes at the Whitewater Draw area and as Portlanders got some much needed winter sun. The Doublejack was very comfortable and in a good location, quiet at night. Bob, the owner, was helpful without being at all intrusive. This is a well run place.
Awesome guest house!!
We only had a quick trip to Bisbee and were lucky enough to stay at the Doublejack Guesthouse. It's the perfect place to stay...beautiful location, charming house, close to everything, and great views of the town.
High-End Lodging in a Rustic Mining Town... Nice surprise!
I suppose it was fate that were meant to stay at the Doublejack Guesthouse. We planned a last-minute trip, they were recommended by a friend, and the guesthouse just so happened to be available on the one night we needed. Fate, I tell you. I can't say enough positive about this place. Our hosts seem like they've been innkeepers at luxury B&Bs.; They know what they're doing! What impressed me the most was how high-end everything was. From the moment you walked through the front door, the feel was of a much more expensive place. I'm talking about thick towels, creamy soft sheets, nice lighting, a bed that sucked you in it was so comfortable, Teac stereo, snazzy toaster, large shower with double showerhead... I could go on and on. With a living room/kitchenette, king-bedded room, and large bathroom, it was spacious, comfortable, and beautifully decorated. Bob gave us a tour when we arrived and stocked us up with all we needed to make our own delicious breakfast, including granola, juice, farm fresh eggs, a loaf of bread, and coffee beans to grind. And being set on a hill, as much of Bisbee is, the little patio with view is perfect for morning breakfast or sunset wine. The only downside is the climb up the steps to get there, but hey, it's Bisbee! All the good places are on hills! I would definitely stay at the Doublejack Guesthouse again and highly recommend it.
Friendly, homey, and with true Bisbee character!
This is a great place to stay if you want a true Bisbee experience. Bob and Jeff are very friendly, their place is neat and clean with all of the amenities you can possibly need, a stargazing patio included!
I would definitely stay there again.
wonderfully comfortable, relaxing and private
My partner and I celebrated his birthday at the Doublejack...and loved every minute of it. Bob was very welcoming and gave us a great tour of the place. It is tastefully decorated and has just the right amount of amenities to make your stay perfect. Loved sitting in the gardens enjoying the morning sun...loved everything about it. I hope to come back and stay longer next time.
Best overnight getaway- ever!
The Doublejack is a fantastically romantic place to stay. It is small and cozy homestead overlooking Old Bisbee, complete with a huge clawfoot bathtub big enough for two! My boyfriend and I had a lovely time cooking dinner together in the little kitchen and enjoying a meal and cocktails on the gorgeous patio. Bob is a wonderful host and his little dog, Trixie, is the cutest puppy ever. Thank you for a wonderful experience and a chance to reconnect. Our trip to Old Bisbee was magical and the Doublejack was the perfect place to stay. We will be back!

Charming Guest House in Beautiful Bisbee!
Does anyone remember the airline commercial with the Koala Bear doing his best to discourage visitors to australia? Well, that's what I would like to do so the Doublejack Guesthouse would more often be available for me! We love the Doublejack and our hosts, Jeff and Bob. They have beautifully restored what was an old miner's shack into a delightful B & B with every thought for the comforts of their guests. Rise early to watch the birds at the feeder. Listen to Bisbee awaken while enjoying the spectacular views from the deck or the gazing ball in the upper garden. Or relax and sleep in late after a fun night 'on the town'. Just remember, there are steps to climb, so pack intelligently! But look at it this way, you are getting a little healthy exercise at no extra charge! ... And the Doublejack is worth every step and more! Enjoy your stay, but please leave a weekend open for me!

Adorable hillside perch in Bisbee
We loved our stay at the Doublejack Guesthouse! The cabin is adorable - from the wonderful colors to the interesting artwork - we liked it all. The bed was super comfortable and the bathroom was great! Bob and Jeff provided all the "fixins" for breakfast the first morning and we really enjoyed the flexibility it provided. Breakfast out on the deck in the morning was wonderful. The bird feeders are kept full and there's lots of activity to watch. The location is peaceful and quiet. Pack light - they're not kidding about the 75 stairs - but the view is absolutely worth it! We will be back!
This is our third stay at the Doublejack. Very clean & well decorated. Bob makes sure there are "breakfast fixins'" for you including fresh coffee beans from a local roaster. Kitchen has a gas stove & about anything you'd need to cook a meal with plus an assortment of glassware, blender, cork screws etc. Nice big, well lit bathroom. At 6'4" tall I prefer the dual head, two person size shower over the antique claw foot tub. High quality towels & bedding. Very comfortable bed (pillows seemed a bit tired though). Flat screen in the bedroom with an assortment of Dvd's. Plenty of closet & drawer space. Bob & Jeff have renovated & added on to the outdoor living space. As it seems, to get anywhere in Bisbee you have to either walk up hill or up stairs (I counted eighty three up to the Doublejack). My advice is to enjoy the terrace views, the stars, moon & lights of Bisbee vs. navigating hills & stairs after consuming. We've already booked the house for Bluesfest next year.
Fantastically relaxing and peaceful
This is the place to stay while in Bisbee arizona - quiet, relaxing and great accomodations. The quest house is nicely furnished and very comfortable. We're booking our next stay right now.
Bob and Jeff, proprieters of the Doublejack, are wonderful hosts. Bob gave us a great introduction to the property and the town, and then let us enjoy our vacation with minimal input unless we asked for it. In a guesthouse situation, it could be so easy for the hosts to be almost intrusive, but we really felt like we were in our own little world even though we were in everyone else's backyards!
The guesthouse itself is beautifully decorated and furnished with comfort in mind: big bed, plush rugs, a comfy couch perfect for lounging. Come prepared to relax! They seem to have thought of everything, including full-size complimentary toiletries (no hotel shampoos here), breakfast amenities (no frozen waffles either - instead, fresh eggs from the farmer's market) and the best - hands down - best coffee I've ever had in my whole life.
I put 4 stars for value only because it can feel a little pricy to someone who is looking for an economical vacation - but for us, the knowledge that we didn't have to do anything was well worth the money. The advantage of staying in a guesthouse with a full kitchen and living area is that we could choose to take any meals "at home" instead of eating out all the time, so that also added to both the value and the comfort.
In all the reviews I read, people kept talking about the birds, the birds. I couldn't understand what was so great about birds until I watched the sun rise one morning while 20 hummingbirds all bullied each other away from the feeder. Then I understood how much fun it is to watch the birds dance!
Spectacular views from the property's back terraced yard are the icing on the cake - watch out for the no-see-ums, but otherwise, it was a lovely way to spend the evening hours stargazing with glasses of wine and each other. Life really can be that good.
What a wonderful little house! We stayed in Bisbee years ago at an awful hotel downtown, and I had no desire to go back. Especially because there are few places to stay that will allow pets. But the Doublejack house was really ideal for our needs. It is so quiet, the first afternoon we were there we took a nap that lasted 3 hours! I never nap! I was just so relaxed, I guess. The breakfast was greatly appreciated, and the shower is amazing. Super comfy bed, too! It's a really old house with all the modern comforts. The hosts really thought of everything. We will definitely be back!
Great host, great location.
Bob was terrific, great host. Location just up in the hills is perfect for visiting all parts of Old Bisbee. Ask Bob for restaurants and things to do. Everything in the cabin was top notch. Would stay here again.
My husband and I stayed in the Doublejack Guesthouse for a romantic weekend getaway. It was the perfect place for us! Before we arrived we were given plenty of information to help us plan our stay, including directions and possible attractions we could visit. We were warmly welcomed when we arrived, and there was fresh bread, butter, eggs, milk, juice, and granola ready for our breakfast the next morning. The colorful yet cozy atmosphere with a gorgeous mountain view was exactly what we were looking for, and truly had a peaceful and relaxing mini-vacation. Bisbee is such a fun place to explore; we enjoyed the Underground Queen Mine Tour, the historical ghost walk, and a taste of the beers at the Bisbee Brewery. Thank you, Bob and Jeff, for sharing your little slice of heaven.

No Doubt the Best Place to Stay in Bisbee
The Doublejack is a beautiful, quiet and artistically designed guest house perched above old Bisbee! We were in desperate need of a weekend and location where we could simply unwind and reconnect. This guest house was, without question, the best choice we could have made. The attention to detail and the owner's investment in making our trip wonderful was beyond impressive. We have already told our friends about it! Our advice to anyone looking for a place to get away from it all, is book the reservation now! We can't wait until we have another weekend for a getaway ... the Doublejack is all we need!
Margaret and Mike
We stayed for 5 nights and used the Doublejack as a home base to visit historical places and natural wonders around the area. The Doublejack guesthouse is beautiful and we loved sitting high up on the hill, drinking beer in the evenings. We had a great time even without cable TV. They have a great selection of movies, instead. The 75 steps are challenging but we survived.
It was our first time in Bisbee and we kept saying aloud how lucky we felt to come across the Doublejack and have it be available! It is every bit as delightful, if not more, than we expected from photos and other reviews. It is the perfect spot for a couple, or even a solo getaway.
- Bob and Jeff are fantastic hosts - they made everything easy and comfortable.
- Impeccably clean, bright, pleasant little house!
- Walking distance to everything
- I love coffee, and the Doublejack Blend was great.
-Very peaceful patio and garden, any time of day or evening...loved drinking both coffee and the wine outside.
-Scrabble and Monopoly in the closet!
-Iron/ironing board also available.
The only places we got in the car for were the Farmer's Market and Bisbee Breakfast Club, still only a couple miles away. And the Queen Mine Tour...but in retrospect, we easily could have walked to that, too.
Now that we've done a lot of the "sightseeing" in Bisbee, we feel we could return just to hole up in the Doublejack for a quiet weekend away from the world, and be perfectly content with games, reading, movies. We almost wished it rained so we would be forced to stay in, but there was a lot we wanted to explore.
Thank you, Bob and Jeff! See you again in the future!

We loved the Doublejack
My partner and I have stayed in Bisbee many times over the past seven years, but this was our first time at the Doublejack. Now that we have found the Doublejack, we will not stay anywhere else. In a word, it was 'perfect'. Being Bears, we appreciated a bathroom with full sized walk-in shower, and a bedroom with a king sized bed. The Doublejack was tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean. The patio, hilside, and view over Historic Bisbee was fantastic. I could not have changed a thing to make for a nicer weekend Staying in an authnetic miner's cottage, off a hillside staircase made us feel like locals. Thank you Bob and Jeff for creating such a great getaway. We had a fantastic long weekend, and will see you again soon!
Amazing as Usual
This is the third year in a row that we have spent at Doublejack Guesthouse for our anniversary. Everything is as amazing as it was when we came 3 years ago! We love to escape to the guesthouse for a couple days to completely relax and renew and get away! Bob and Jeff are the most warm and welcoming owners you will ever come into contact with. Stay a night, stay a month-you won't regret it!

The perfect little get-away
The Doublejack was the perfect little get-away from the hectic daily life. The guesthouse was immaculate, charming, and supplied with everything one would need. We particularly enjoyed spending time on the private patio in the cool mornings and evenings watching the birds and sunsets. Jeff and Bob were terrific hosts; making sure we had everything, were comfortable, but also respecting our privacy. Definitely a stay to repeat.

A little bit of a quirky, classy heaven!
The accommodations were just perfect for this "miner's shack"! It did not seem like 75 steps to a little share of our "home away from home". Bob and Jeff did an outstanding update of the cabin with great interior colors, decor so "Bisbee" like and privacy one would not expect in this location.
Trixie, their friendly dog, and Bob greeted us upon our arrival and shared some of the history of how they acquired this property which was obviously meant for them. Bob then became our personal visitor center and food guide for not only Bisbee but the surrounding area.
That evening, Jim and I shared a bottle of wine on their upper patio, watching the sun set on the hillside across the way and listening to the birds prepare for their night - oh how tranquil and peaceful!
Our breakfast consisted of farm-fresh eggs, juice, granola, locally roasted fresh coffee beans, delicious sour-dough bread and butter. Coffee on the patio as the morning sunshine shone down on us, listening to and watching a myriad of birds enjoy their breakfast in the pomegranite tree was just the most perfect way to begin the day.
If you are looking for a peaceful, classy and quirky (Bisbee style) experience, look no further. There was nothing we could have requested from Bob, Jeff and Trixie other than we wish we had more time to spend in this delightful abode - next time a longer stay.
It was a most enjoyable experience!
Bisbee is a unique town in a lot of quirky and beautiful ways. Staying at the Doublejack Guesthouse extends total immersion of your Bisbee stay right through the slumber hours.
The Doublejack is situated perfectly. Close enough to downtown to walk to any attraction, yet removed enough to find peace and quiet at the end of the day. Accommodations are complete, clean, and uniquely reflective of the overall Bisbee experience.
You'll not find a detail that is ignored by your hosts. We will return to Bisbee in the future. And if available, the Doublejack Guesthouse will be our first choice for lodging.
The Doublejack Guest House was private, impeccably furnished and cared for with every thoughtful detail taken care of. Bob Klein was extremely helpful guiding us to experience Bisbee! We loved everything about it and plan to go back!
Bisbee is for the birds
This little cottage perched up in the hills is right in town but also secluded & private. Hummingbirds had breakfast with me each morning out on the deck with views of the whole area. While everything I needed was here, I couldn't resist venturing out to explore. Partying, vintage shopping, art & music-a taste of arizona old & new. Thank you guys.

Best long weekend lodging ever in aZ
Great place, view, everything needed +, little great extras like on site bird watching, extensive regional & local information (restaurant menus to state park info). Felt like we were locals, living in a very well updated 1800's home. Walking to main street was easy. We willl return!!!
Gorgeous Little Hideaway
We absolutely loved our stay at the Doublejack last summer and only wished we had booked more time there just to relax and unwind a bit from the stress and chaos of a family reunion. The hosts are so accommodating, considerate of their guests every need, and a pleasure to work with. My husband and I are both biologists and collectors of art and eclectic stuff so Bisbee was definitely our kind of town-we had a ball just wandering the streets. Coming back from our day trips to a perfect view of town, the lovely desert sunsets, and waking to the zips of hummingbirds at several feeders was unforgettable. We are coming back this summer to enjoy it again!
The Doublejack - A Guesthouse With a Soul
Our two week stay at the Doublejack was everything we hoped for and then some. We work demanding jobs on the road and were desperate for peace, relaxation, and a place where we could feel truly at home. The city of Bisbee and the Doublejack Guesthouse were exactly what we needed. The guesthouse is a hidden gem, complete with every amenity. Full kitchen, comfy king bed, huge double shower and private deck make it difficult to leave and explore the many beautiful and interesting activities near by. The owners are amazing and went above and beyond to make our stay sublime. It's impossible not to notice the attention to detail and care that's been put into making this guesthouse the perfect getaway. We had a great time and can't wait for our next visit!
Just what the doctor ordered.
My husband and I had not taken a vacation in a long time and the Doublejack House could not have been a better place. We had privacy when we wanted it as well as access to Bob with my endless questions. It was such a delight to have immediate access ( all located on the coffee table) to all the Bisbee activities, eating places, special places like the chocolate factory, Bisbee coffee roasters and the list goes on.
Bob was very attentive to our questions and needs, having breakfast in the fridge for the next morning, many up-to-date magazines, feeding the birds early in the morning so we could watch them while eating breakfast, just to mention a few things.
Cleanliness, coziness, and wonderful furnishings must also be added to this review. Quietness was very important to us so climbing those steps up was well worth it. Well most of the time. There were those times it seems we had walked miles up and down the hills of Bisbee.
I only gave 4 stars for the value only because this was a giant splurge for us and out of our price range. However, for a special occasion we would definitely stay at the Doublejack Guesthouse again.
What a great experience! My wife and I needed an escape from the Phoenix heat and some much needed quiet. We were absolutely amazed and impressed with the guest house we will be looking forward to our next visit. I would highly recommend it to anyone.
Quiet romantic get away
We had never been to Bisbee, so we weren't aware that it was built on a hillside - in other words, there a a lot of steps. The Doublejack is very nice. It is a combination of modern comforts in a rustic atmosphere. We were celebrating our 30th anniversary and we had a good time.
The Doublejack Guesthouse was completely charming. It is the perfect getaway! I only wish we could have stayed longer. The back porch was lovely and the views were amazing. The weather was not very cooperative for our trip, but we were so close to the restaurants and bars that we could still walk.
If you are looking for a place to stay in Bisbee, look no farther. I will not stay anywhere else when I return. I cannot wait to go back!!!
We loved the Double Jack and our host Bob. We visit Bisbee about twice a year and have stayed in may places from hotels to B&B;'s, and let me tell you the Double Jack was by far the coziest. The house is recently remodeled and well decorated, and has all of the comforts of your own home. The kitchen was well stocked and allowed us to cook a wonderful meal. Bob even left us a loaf of artisan rustic bread, juice, eggs and milk. I highly recomend staying at the Double Jack.
private getaway with a lovely view
Although our stay at the Doublejack was for one night, I would have loved to stay longer. The location was amazing with the view of Bisbee and the mountains beyond. The cabin itself was well appointed, cozy and comfortable. The opportunity for birding outside our door was an added bonus. Bob gave us a good suggestion for dinner and where to walk for an even better view. The bed was comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed for a pleasant breakfast. This was a great find!
The Doublejack is one of the most comfortable and beautiful places I have ever stayed in. Sitting out on the deck watching the birds during the day and stars at night was enchanting. Bob and Jeff are great hosts and have created a wonderful vacation rental that I would very highly recommend. I will be back.
Our stay at Double Jack was fantastic! We enjoyed exploring Bisbee, but DoubleJack really made the trip a great one. It is such a cool cabin. It is the type of place you go to and wish it was yours and that you didn't have to leave at the end of your stay. Bob and Jeff did a great job decorating the place and stocking it with every comfort you could want. The deck is perfect for enjoying a cup of morning coffee or stars at night. We would definitely return and recommend to my friends and family.
Great Thanksgiving Weekend

Great Thanksgiving Weekend
My husband said to me "This is the best choice of reservation that you have ever made". The DoubleJack was perfect in every way. The guesthouse had everything that we needed and more. Bob and Jeff were very accommodating. They stocked the kitchen with everything that we needed for our breakfast for the next morning. The bed was very comfortable. And the shower was the best for Brian. He loved the double shower.
We just loved it!!!
The only thing was the 74 steps to get up to the guesthouse. But once you make it up those stairs (and I counted every one of them) it was well worth it.
We will definitely come again.
Thank you Bob and Jeff
What a great place to stay. We had a great time. Bob and Jeff were so nice and the hospitality was the best.
What a great town. Take the Queen Mine Tour and make sure to dine at Cafe Roka.

Halloween in Bisbee
My partner and I needed a weekend get-away for Halloween, and we knew Bisbee celebrates Halloween in style! After some internet research, we decided that the Doublejack offered the "package deal" that we desired - location, classic style, galley kitchen, huge bathroom, ease of booking - so we booked our stay about a month in advance of our stay. Our intent was to be on the streets celebrating Halloween in a unique Bisbee way. So check out our entry in the guest book:
"Had plans to bust out Halloween madness...but got sucked into the Doublejack vortex!! Any plans to party in the streets were quickly scrapped in favor of the lure of the Doublejack. Every thoughtful touch, from strong coffee, to ample reading, to nature's clatter, kept us wanting for nothing and enjoying our escape!"
So yeah, go to Bisbee with a plan, but be prepared to not want to leave the Doublejack! We'll be back!
Delightful spot in charming town
The Doublejack Guesthouse is a gem. It's nestled in the hills of Bisbee, which if you squint your eyes you'd think is an Italian hill-town. A short (but steep) walk to the historic downtown, with its lively attractions and nightlife. However, at the guesthouse you feel entirely private and secluded, within the dense village neighborhood. Extremely comfortable rooms, nice claw foot tub and fully appointed bathroom (and kitchen), with private deck and sitting area overlooking the hills. Hummingbirds in the tree outside the bedroom window. Very attentive owners right next door thougth of everything. Really, it's delightful.
A great getaway
We would recommend the Doublejack Guesthouse to anyone staying in Bisbee. It is within walking distance to everything...don't let the stairs scare you. Bob greeted us upon our arrival and helped us settle in. The guesthouse decor is comfortable and inviting. The attention to details was incredible and there were so many unexpected delights. We enjoyed the views from the deck and relaxed while watching the bird activity. A great getaway and a great place to stay.
Unique and Special Place
Comfortale, well-equipped, great attention to detail. Great bathroom - loved the clawfoot tub. Tremendous views as well.
A really quaint and clean refurbished cottage in a private setting. Perfect for a romantic getaway for 2, super nicely decorated and stocked. Close to everything, wish we had more than one night here.
Bob & Tami Ray
Doublejack was all I hoped it would be. My husband and I stayed here for our anniversary. It was perfect for the two of us. Watching the hummingbirds on the patio was great. We had a lot of activities planned for the area and had a great time. We walked around alot. Just wish I had fit in more time to check out the shops. Bob was a great host. He pointed out good places for us to eat. We didn't meet Jeff, but maybe next time. We will definitely recomment the Doublejack to our friends and family.
Pet Friendly Too!
We can't wait to back to Bisbee again if for no other reason than to spend a few more days at the Doublejack. It's quiet location is easy walking to shopping, dining, and entertainment in Brewery Gulch.
Friendly hosts and a lovely home inside and out.
Quick getaway to Bisbee
Wonderful! We decided to visit Bisbee for the annual Plein air art Festival and the Garden Tour. After checking in and immediately switching from "city pace" to "Doublejack Guesthouse pace," we decided not to stick to a schedule and slept in, watched the hummingbirds, and just took it easy. Bob & Jeff put their hearts into making this one of the best, most comfortable places we've experienced.
Charming, convenient, private and full of character
We chose the Doublejack Guesthouse to celebrate our first wedding anniversary. It is everything we wanted - a charming, cozy (yet roomy) and private place to stay, within walking distance of things to do and explore, with all the conveniences (and several we didn't expect, yet they were there for us), and full of character. Owners Bob and Jeff have created a unique haven and we appreciate all the work and care they put into making the guesthouse a unique and special place for guests. We booked a return stay before we even left, have already recommended it to several friends, and we look forward to many future getaways here.
Loved the remodel, not the stairs!
Just kidding about the stairs!! I've already recommended this to friends who are making their way to Bisbee. Loved the guesthouse. Bob was super! The colors are beautiful, very clean. Loved the view, the double shower and clawfoot tub! Really loved the patio with the hummingbirds. Just lovely! Great not to have a TV too (though they do have movies). nice getaway! Will definitely go back!

Charming, clean, private ... worth the climb
The owners have done a terrific job fixing this place up. Past meets present - it's thoroughly modern and very tasteful, yet still retains a little bit of its history as an old mining shack.
Owners are very friendly and accommodating, and provided a lot of information about all there is to see and do in Bisbee, both with literature provided and with personal recommendations.
Since this is a one-unit guest house located near the top of the hill, it offers a lot of privacy. Just be advised that you should be in good shape for walking and stair-climbing to enjoy this guest house - from the center of town, you will walk up two blocks of fairly steep streets, then walk up 75 more stairs. Parking is available near the base of the stairs, and you will need to carry your luggage up. Once settled in, it's easier to walk around town than attempt to drive the narrow streets and find parking.

Summer at Doublejack
Excellent private, comfortable accommodations with wonderful hosts and great location. Eclectic Bisbee, great bird watching.
Perfect getaway for 2 on a scenic Bisbee hilltop
We were welcomed at the Doublejack Guesthouse by the friendly and accomodating host, Bob. He walked us through the charming house, pointing out highlights including the claw foot tub, roomy shower, king size bed and views from the wonderful deck and yard. There is space to stretch out and relax while taking in a variety of views. The kitchen had provisions for breakfast and yummy Doublejack coffee. I loved watching the birds in the morning and reaching over to find the species in one of the guidebooks provided. We thoroughly enjoyed Bisbee, a town that keeps a visitor busy roaming up and down the hills. Staying at the Doublejack one can comfortably rest between activities or happily stay in at this quiet oasis on a hilltop.

Awesome Guest House
This was an incredible find. A beautiful home located up a significant flight of stairs; however, because of it, you see awesome views of Bisbee. The house was extremely well appointed, complete with coffee and breakfast fixings. Overall, a great value for the price, and an awesome experience!
A much needed rest
The Doublejack was comfy, clean , and cute. An excellent escape from the city life. Just a short walk from everything downtown but far enough to be quiet and quaint. I would highly recommend it!!! Bisbee and the Doublejack are awesome!!!(Great for Couples)
What a treasure!
Absolutely fantastic location, wonderful place and an amaizing couple running it. My wife and I had such a wonderful time and happily recomend it to anyone! Bob and Jeff have done an amaizing job with their property, and are just great people.

An amazing find in the historic town of Bisbee!
My partner and I came across the Doublejack guesthouse by chance and what an amazing find it was.The guesthouse is furnished and decorated to a very high standard, and is spotlessly clean with great outdoor space. The views across Bisbee are just stunning.
Bob and Jeff are fantastic hosts who made us feel very welcome. On arrival at the guesthouse we were welcomed by Bob and shown where everything was and how things worked - there was even fresh coffee and bread in the kitchen which I think was a great little touch.
We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Bisbee – there is so much to see in the town and in the surrounding area – and at the Doublejack Guesthouse in particular. We hope to return in the not too distant future.
Very nice spot in Old Bisbee
Pluses - in the midst of Old Bisbee but far enough up the hill that noise from the bars on Brewery Gulch is not noticeable. Great views from the lot, very pleasant sitting areas. Open windows in the evening are much more comfortable than running the aC, which also works well if needed. Wireless network is easy to log into and dependable - didn't go down once in my 5 day stay. The kitchen is very serviceable, I really recommend making a light breakfast in house - very nice for that.
Minuses - about 80 steps up from where one parks. Lot level parking would make this one a hands-down five stars for me. For some, this might be a plus - there is very little pedestrian traffic on the sidewalk out front compared to the street at the bottom of the stairs. My 10 year old Basset needs to be carried up, though.
Minor things - no land line and no T-Mobile coverage, but at&T; works in most of the house and all of the outside lot as far as I could tell. Not much storage for luggage, as one would expect given the period of the construction. There is adequate lighting in the house, sometimes figuring out which switch turns on which light can require experimentation.
Everything was perfect - great care was put into thinking of everything that could have been needed by a guest. Lots of special touches. Only down side is if you can't walk up the 75 steps to the front door...

Loved the colors, the decor, the views, the comfort, the thoughtfulness, the aerobics (stairs!), the birds, the gardens ... Bob and Jeff are wonderful hosts who have created a haven that is a treat to the senses, bliss for the soul!

My wife and I recently stayed at the Doublejack and absolutely enjoyed our experience. It is a peaceful hidden spot where you are able to relax out on the deck and recharge your spirit. All of Bisbee is accessible on foot but be prepared to navigate stairs no matter where you are going. Bob and Jeff did an amazing job in renovating the guesthouse and offer a bit of local knowledge at check-in.

Cozy, calm, quiet and well kept.
We were very happy with the Doublejack guesthouse. We were able to get an early chk in and we were delighted with the small yet cozy guesthouse. The King bed was a plus as was the clawfoot tub and big shower able to fit 2 comfortably.
The 75 stairs you must climb to get to the guesthouse is well worth it. It's actually harder to go down them during check-out than to climb them during check-in.
The attention to detail that Bob puts into the place is apparent and it has a nice vibe to it overall with all the amenities you need.
The only downside(which is miniscule) is that we would like to have a bit more privacy from the bedroom area. There were people walking right by our bedroom windows, which were both wide open due to the wonderful weather we experienced during our stay. You can easily close the windows and blinds for more pivacy but it would be nice to not have to worry about that.
The location is easily walkable to lots of the attractions, eateries, markets and shops. It also is high enough on the hill for great views whether it be day or night.
Response from Bob Klein - 05/29/2010
Thanks for letting us know about the compromised privacy from the bedroom windows. We have now put etched glass in the bottom panes of the window so that there is complete privacy from the walkway in front of the guesthouse. The view from the top half of the windows still allows guests to see the fabulous mountain views while snuggled in bed relaxing!
Always love Bisbee and finding the Doubejack made it even better. Can't wait to return.
Best little cabin in Bisbee
Everything about this place is great. Having the
private deck and garden area overlooking Bisbee
really made this spectacular. Drinking coffee on the
deck in the morning with the hummingbirds zipping
around and the birds chirping was the perfect way to
start the day. Staying here gave us a little feel of
what it would be like to actually live in Bisbee,
which is so much better than any hotel experience.
We feel lucky that we found this place and can't wait
to go back.
Irresistibly Charming Miners' Cabin
The restoration of this miners' cabin perched in the hills over Bisbee was obviously a true labor of love. It's the ideal getaway—an irresistible little love shack—comfortable, quiet & cozy.

Yes, there are 75 steps and we enjoyed each one of them! The owners live next door in case you need them, but they maintain distance so you can have your privacy and not be concerned about neighbors. The service was professional, curteous, prompt, thorough and diligent. The quaint cabin had all of the right appliances, dishes, bottle and can openers, shelving, storage and accomodations that one would need. Kitchen/living room was just the right size and opened up to a beautiful deck with a wonderful view of Bisbee. The location was just 5 minutes walk from town. There was just one little blip on the server, but with one quick call, the owner rebooted the server and internet service was up and running again.
Jeff & Bob's little house is amazing!!!!
After a long drive from Phoenix, we were referred to Jeff & Bob's Guesthouse by another inn keeper. (they did not have an opening at their place) What a wonderful referal. I am looking forward to staying there again, in spite of the 75 stairs to get there. My sister and I loved it. The guesthouse is clean and modern and tastefully decorated. The view from the patio where we ate our breakfast was breataking. I would recommend booking in advance, as Bob told us that he is normally booked and we were lucky to be able to get in on such short notice. This will be the only place I will stay at when I return to Bisbee.
My wife and I would stay at Double Jacks above all others, a gre
Bob was a great help with all of our questions and places to visit and explore.
He and his partner did a great job decorating, painting and providing our
rental with all of the amenities one could ask for. The location in my opinion
was the the best in town; quiet with great views and lots of morning sun. We
liked the fact that it sat high on the hill with lots of privacy though it was a bit
of a climb up the steps to the rental. If you have the right vehicle you can park
on the hill and eliminate the steps. Be sure to shop for groceries at the co-
op. They have everything you'll need.

The Best 24 Hours in a Long, Long Time
We had the absolute joy of being guest at the Doublejack Guesthouse in historic Bisbee, AZ yesterday. We enjoyed the car show, baseball game, dining and shopping. The best part however, was staying at the Doublejack. The guesthouse was lovely down to the smallest detail. Vibrant colors instead and out including blooming flowers, busy birds and tranquil fountain. A peaceful beautiful time. We recommend to all locals and folks traveling through Arizona to take the time to explore historic Cochise County and stay at the Doublejack.

Perfect retreat for our 18th Wedding Anniversary!
Might I say, for Dave, myself and our labrador Levi, Bob & Jeff have created a perfect retreat that suited us just-right! The cottage is so comfortably furnished with full attention to detail, nothing is missing. For this time of year, we especially enjoyed soaking up the sun on the deck & upper yard, lounging about, taking in the beautiful views. It is a private spot, tucked away for the perfect quiet get-a-way. I have shared our delight in the Doublejack Guesthouse in historic Bisbee, AZ with all my close friends & family. Thank you, Bob & Jeff (Trixie, too!)for taking us in for the weekend!!! We will be back...
75 Stairs to Paradise
We spent a week at the Cottage. A great time and lots of recreation. The Guesthouse had everything we needed,a big bathroom, full kitchen, and a king bed. The views were spectacular, especially at sunrise and sunset and we loved the plethora of birds, feeding just outside our livingroom window. Trixie was an extra bonus. She is a great dog and has the agility of a well trained athletic high jumper. We love you Trixie!!!!
The 75 stairs to paradise was definately worth it. We got used to it by the fifth day. We were well toned and more attractive.
Bob and Jeff are great host and they took really good care of us. It has to be one of the quitest places we have stayed. We loved the coffee and sent some to our friends. The house is well decorated and we had all the amenities we needed.
We stayed busy for the entire week. The only thing we missed was the TV so we could watch some of our favorite programs. There are no negatives about the guesthouse. We will do it again in the furure.

Beautiful place - wonderful touches!
This is a great place to stay! The house was just beautiful with every small detail, art, paint, comfy king size bed, great bathtub, you really couldn't ask for more.
The ONLY downside was the 75 (or 83, lol) steps, which though invigorating with a 12 year old dog and people that can't pack light, it was a lot to carry! Hahaa... The comfort was certainly worth it though.
the road moreand more traveled
double jack was a wonderful place...the location was perfect...the views were spectacular..bob and jeff were the most gracious hosts...so attentive and helpful in everyway...
they made us feel right at home...the coffee they provided was sublime..beds most comfortable....we loved everything!!!
nothing seemed to compare to the double jack when we looked around to stay for a few more nights...
we shall return to our beloved bisbee and doublejack!!
The guesthouse and grounds were perfect...private and peaceful. Bob and Jeff have turned this cabin into everything you need to forget the city and yet have every comfort.
When trying to distill what I liked best about the place, I just kept changing my mind...perhaps 'everything'.
My dog, Sally, was very happy with her stay too -- lots of tail wagging and lying in the sunshine on the patio.
I am now patiently waiting for summer, so I can return.

Best In Town!
I've been in Bisbee on business trips several times every year since 1980, and have stayed in nearly all the hotels, motels, B&Bs and inns in town. But the best of them all is Doublejack Guesthouse.
This very private space is extremely well appointed, very comfortable (including the dreamy bed), and set up for in-room breakfast. The view is outstanding, the resident hummingbirds are beautiful, and the hosts are very gracious-they appear when you need them and only then.
I'll be returning soon, probably with my wife this time.
The house has everything you need...and then some!
Very comfortable, great flow, all around good feel.
Has a wonderful view. Once you make the first climb up the 75 steps to the house, all the other climbs are a "piece of cake".
Bob was a great host. I would highly recommend staying at the Doublejack.
Looking forward to our next stay there.
The Doublejack! You'll want to go Back.
We had a marvelous stay stay at the Doublejack Guesthouse. A big ditto to all the kudos from previous guests. Especially loved the vibrant colors and kept finding new things to admire -- like the lighted chili pepper ristra. We also enjoyed a very special treat. Bob found the time to guide us across the border at Naco for a super good (and super cheap) Mexican dinner. This is a unique place -- and very reasonable.
High praise well deserved
Upon arrival, we were given a wonderful welcome, and any info we might need. It is beautifully well appointed, and has a wonderful aura both inside and out.
I only wish I did not have to descend the steps for several days, instead of overnight !
I would highly recommend this guest house, and will stay there again, either with a companion or alone.
It exceeded my expectations, and I was very, very pleased with the accomodation !
I think perhaps the only fault that could possibly be found is that it is definitely not for anyone that cannot handle a very steep climb up the steps.
It was an absolutely great time. The guesthouse is excellant with all details thought out by 2 great hosts. They even helped us find our way when we were lost. It was very private and also very close to down town so you could actually park and walk. I would recomend Doublejacks to anyone.
Thanks guys for the great time.

Tranquility and Bliss from the moment we arrived!
The DoubleJack is a quaint, cozy, escape from the bustle of day to day life and every detail has been meticulously considered.
Bob and Jeff are wonderful hosts and they have created a very desirable hideaway just minutes from the galleries, museums, historical landmarks and eateries in the town of Bisbee. The peacefulness of the night sky blanketed with stars, and the energetic hummingbirds that visit throughout the day on the patio are just 2 of the natural wonders that await DoubleJack Guests. We will definitely come back to the DoubleJack VERY soon!

Beautiful guesthouse, great location.
We choose vacation rentals whenever possible when we're planning to
spend several days somewhere. A guesthouse allows me to swing by a
market before checking in for essentials so I can have a beer or a glass of
wine (and maybe a little cheese) in the afternoon, brew a great pot of coffee
in the morning, fix a bagel or a bowl of cereal and get moving at a weekend
pace rather than having to leave a hotel room to seek out the basics. We
enjoy living like locals. Over the years, we've had several experiences that
far exceeded our expectations, plenty of perfectly decent, but unremarkable
rentals and a few really awful encounters. We've never stayed anywhere
better than the Doublejack. If you've ever opened an issue of Sunset, seen
something and thought, "I want to be there.", this place is probably for you.
The owners obviously put a lot of love and care into their guesthouse. No
cookie-cutter cottage, Doublejack has amazing appeal. Bright colors, big
fixtures and bold features in a comfortable, tastefully updated old miner's
shack. The property has a great deck with great views of Bisbee and it's just
above "Old Bisbee," so there's no need to jump in the car to enjoy local life.
The bad? It's a schlep to drag your luggage up all those steps, especially if
you're used to living at sea level, and Bisbee's mosquitos reminded me of
childhood summers in Minnesota (the guesthouse's windows were
screened, but the French doors weren't, so we left them closed much of the
time). Honestly, though, Bisbee's a great getaway. It's built on hillsides so
the stairs are part of the experience, and the Doublejack is a place that
exceeded all expectations. We met one of our hosts at check in, then had
an enjoyable conversation about Bisbee life with both of them the night
before our departure. I'd been wanting to visit Bisbee for years. It's the
genuine article. The Doublejack made it perfect.

Don't miss out on Bisbee and the Doublejack Guesthouse
Bob and Jeff's Doublejack Guesthouse, on the hillside overlooking Bisbee, is superb. The cabin has been lovingly remodeled, is comfortable and maintained beautifully. The view from the patio area is great and the hummingbirds that gather around the feeder are mesmerizing. Bisbee is a delightful town and the galleries, gift shops and restaurants were great. Two restaurants stand out. If you want great pizza, order one at Bella Roma, fantastic. For a more formal, but casual dinner, eat at Roca. The food is out of this world and the service is fantastic. If you?re worried about thing to do and see in Bisbee, don?t be. There?s plenty to keep one busy for days. Bisbee is also a short drive from Mexico, so bring your passports. The proprietors of Doublejack, Bob and Jeff, are a wonderful couple. They are friendly, helpful and know the area in-side-out. If you need help with anything, they are right there to make sure your stay is memorable. We loved everything about our stay and there is nothing negative we can possibly say about the Doublejack.
Peace, love and happiness
The hosts, the kitchen, the deck, the dvd collection, the shower, the view, the BED...
Every amenity provided by the Doublejack was above expectation. This is a sweet little sanctuary that provided just the right amount of seclusion and privacy. All with art galleries, restaurants, and shopping just down the hill. We will definitely be back!

Exceeding all expectations
We were absolutely delighted with our stay at the Doublejack guesthouse and look forward to our next visit. Clearly a labor of love by proud owners and gracious hosts Bob & Jeff this flawless fully-functional warm, comfortable & inviting home is not to be confused with a ?vacation rental?. Nestled on a verdant hill affording sweeping views the cottage is private, peaceful and secluded yet an easy walk to all that ?downtown? Old Bisbee has to offer. The interior of this period-perfect gem is clothed in vivid colors, bathed in natural light and impeccably furnished with an eclectic mix of antiques and objets d?art. The private redwood deck is surrounded by wild flowers and daily visited by dozens of birds including more hummingbirds than we have ever seen in one place at one time. Not a comfort is missed, not a detail overlooked; from complimentary fresh sourdough bread with butter and jam, fresh locally roasted coffee & cream, eggs & OJ in the fridge to the fully equipped kitchen and the seamlessly integrated central HVAC system (not easy to find in Bisbee). You will want for nothing save more time to spend in this charming little guesthouse in the hills.
The Doublejack is a dream getaway!
This little guesthouse is a true gem. From the immaculate condition of the guesthouse itself to the quiet and peaceful patio/deck. We are in love! I kept saying all weekend how lucky we were to stumble on it on the internet. We could never dream of staying anywhere else. The bed was so comfortable and waking up to the birds outside our window was amazing. We will be back!!!
We loved our stay at Doublejack!
We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay in Bisbee. Every detail was thought out and the house is beautiful and immaculate. Thanks so much and we will definitely be coming back!
Bisbee in July!
We were very happy with the accomodations at The Doublejack Guesthouse in Bisbee, AZ.
We stayed at the house for 4 days and the house was fantastic: Great view, nicely layed out with all the ammenities that anyone would need, & very relaxing atmosphere.
We are not bird watchers by any means...but we were completely stunned by the birds right outside our windows every day and how beautiful the views were on the mountain.
This trip was truly life changing...back to the basics without any of the pains of roughing it.
The hosts of the Doublejack Guesthouse were fantastic to deal with...thank you for a great time!
A stay at the Doublejack is vibrant jolt of apparent opposites. On the one hand
you are surrounded by some of the most amazing history to be told in the US,
in all of it's rustic best. Then you are engulfed in a luxurious abode with all of
the 21stC ammenities. It is an amazing experience.
Bisbee will never be the same since the Doublejack Guesthouse op
I refuse to stay any where else than the Doublejack Guesthouse in historic
Bisbee! From my first communication via e-mail with Bob to the day we
checked out, we had warm yet professional service. The Doublejack is clearly
a labor of love for both Bob and Jeff--the craftsmanship in this mining "shack"
remodel is above and beyond your average fix-up. It is truly a guesthouse--
with bright colors on the walls, great linens on the beds, and windows
everywhere!! From the trickling sounds of the fountain, the bird feeders with
the trilling of the hummingbirds, and the breeze in the trees- one can
instantly be transported to a peaceful paradise hideaway. Yes, there are 75
steps, but I was so excited to return to our private cottage that I never gave it
any extra thought. The bathroom is large with a claw foot tub and a shower
with excellent water pressure and specialized shower heads. The Doublejack
is filled with light and happiness--watching the sunset or a storm rolling in
over the mountains while sitting on the deck is one of it's crowning glories.

We stumbled upon the Doublejack by accident on the Internet, and made a reservation on a whim. We are sooooo glad we did. We only stayed one night and wish we could have stayed more. The Doublejack is the most comfortable guesthouse that we've ever stayed at. We will be back !
King on the Mountain
We looked at Bisbee as a get-away from the Phoenix summer heat. What a GREAT surprise! On line, I found this VERY cool miners shack that has been turned into a peaceful oasis. We did not want to leave. We went thru the Chamber of Commerce lodging tour, and confirmed, we definately had a smokin deal, plus the place with the most character. These guys have done a great job of making this miners shack into a place you could spend a lot of time...now, if they could only take away the 75 steps and the altitude, so you could climb them faster. Just bring food...you will not want to leave.
We wanted to run down to Bisbee to spend our 28th anniversary. We have been there for getaways in the past. We were lucky enough to find the Doublejack Guesthouse. It could not have been more perfect. Bob and Jeff made us feel right at home. What they have done to this historic cabin cannot be described. The special coffee and breakfast fixins was just right. The only negative of the stay was the fact we were not there long enough. This is something we will rectify in the future, with a longer reservation. Dave & Char
We stayed here for our 5th anniversary. Awesome. Amazing. Relaxing. Beautiful. There really aren't enough words to describe this wonderful guest house. Bob and Jeff were warm and wonderful hosts and have done an amazing job in renovating the 100 year-old mining shack. The special touches including a bubbling fountain, claw foot tub, bird feeders that bring in hundreds of birds, are just one of the reasons to love this place. This is truly a hidden treasure.
Beautiful, private guesthouse - a real gem!
We spent one night in this beautifully restored guesthouse and had a wonderful time. The private patio with a view of Old Bisbee and location high up on the side of Brewery Gulch brought gently breezes, lots of birds, and much peace and quiet. We really appreciated the privacy and having an entire place to ourselves. It is entirely worth the walk up 75 stairs! We only wish we could have stayed longer. Maybe next time!
Beautiful and Relaxing
Me and my husband stayed at the Doublejack Guest house on Memorial Day weekend. We were looking for somewhere quiet and relaxing and Doublejack was perfect. Though we were only able to stay there for a night, it was the most peaceful and comfortable place we've rented. Everything we needed was there, the guesthouse was beautiful and every detail was just right. There also was a great view of Bisbee from the patio. We are hoping to stay there again and this time longer. I would recommend this place to any of my friends or family!
Best place to Peace Out
My husband and I have stayed at many guesthouses, but this is our new favorite. The guesthouse is top-notch in every way. We loved: the construction details and interior design; the breakfast goodies stocked in the fridge upon check-in for our first morning; a bag of locally roasted coffee; the deck and outside area for lounging and enjoying the view of old town Bisbee; and the wonderfully thoughtful hosts, Bob & Jeff. The interior and exterior is spotless & charming. The guesthouse serves as a great base for exploring southeast Arizona. There is so much to do! Lots to explore in Bisbee itself--good eats, shopping, farmer's market, cooking in, a very good quality mine tour (if you're into that kind of thing), 5 miles from Mexico, definately take a hike in the Chiricahua National Monument, San Pedro Riparian National Conservation Area for birdwatching, Cochise's stronghold, Tombstone, art galleries, viewing the giant Peace Sign that lights up at dusk each night from your deck, etc. So much to see and do, but our favorite was just hanging around Bisbee and the guesthouse. We stayed for a week and wished for a month, or 2.
A great getaway
One regret we had about our vacation to Arizona is that we only stayed in Bisbee at the Doublejack for one night. The place was amazing. The home was nicely renovated and the views are to die for. The climb up the stairs was a workout but well worth it once you get to the top. The owners went out of their way to make it feel more like home by having some eggs, milk, juice, bread and coffee in the fridge in case we wanted to make breakfast in the morning and watch the sunrise over the mountain tops. We will be staying at the Doublejack Guesthouse every time we are in Bisbee from now on.
Bob & Jeff were gracious hosts and their guest house is just amazing with western eclectic decor. Our stay was everything we wanted and more.
We are recommending this charmer to our friends visiting Bisbee.
Thanks so much Bob and Jeff, we are coming back.
