Located on the edge of the Haut-Minervois in the Cesse Valley, Bize-Minervois is a beautiful walled village sheltering the 13th Century church at its heart.
6 Place aux Herbes is a traditional 3 storey house situated in the midst of Bize-Minervois just inside one of the original gates to the old village.
The property is entered from 'Place aux Herbes', a small cobbled square typical of this area of France. To the rear the River Cesse ambles through the village where it forms a charming natural swimming pool with pebble beaches.

Pricing includes linens and towels for all occupants, up to maximum of 8 people. A welcome pack with basic supplies; water, milk, tea, coffee, sugar is supplied for each rental.
All bookings are Saturday to Saturday unless arranged otherwise. Short-break packages are limited to low/mid season periods. Rates will be calculated pro rata to the seasonal pricing. A cleaning service can be arranged for an additional fee of 40€

Bize-Minervois is a wonderful small village and perfect base for a holiday in the Languedoc - Rousillon region of Southern France. 6 Place aux Herbes is a delightful 3 level cottage with amazing amenities and easy access of many parts of the region (a car is preferable but there are buses and cycling is easy too.) The cottage layout makes it perfect for a large group and it worked well for our family of two couples and a teenager. We adored both the cottage and the village and subsequently extended our week long stay by an extra 3 days. The views and sounds of the river overlooked by the terraces were a delight. The cottage was incredibly homely and contained wonderful amenities to ensure an easy homely holiday. We hired bikes and cycled parts of the Canal du Midi and visited other villages nearby. The village shops and Wednesday market mean that you don’t need to travel far to stock up on supplies. A visit to the nearby Combebelle goat farm is a must too.
Jess and Jules are perfect hosts who have thought of everything to ensure a relaxing holiday in this charming and very special environment. They provided very helpful information and support to make our stay both unique and a delight - the highlight of our time in Southern France. Although australia is a long way from Southern France we are already planning our return and will definitely spend tiem again at the Bolte Hole in Bize-Minervois.

Great location - even off-season Bize-Minervois has plenty of life with boulangerie, general store, bar, restaurant all within easy walking distance of the house. We also visited Narbonne and Carcassonne - both easy to get to from Bize by car. The sun shone and the lovely sheltered terrace looking onto the river came into its own for leisurely lunches. In the evenings the log fire kept the house cosy and warm. Sat tv meant I could even catch up with Coronation Street but there never seemed to be time! I had the room with the en-suite shower room, which was great but with two other bathrooms, even with 6 of us in the house, everyone was happy. It is a peaceful location when it comes to sleeping - the only issue was the odd duck quacking on the river! Great place and I definitely recommend it.

6 Herbes Place not only met our needs in every way but added more than we expected. The house is cute,but spacious, renovated thoughtfully (eg.to include modern accroutrements like good bathrooms,kitchen,modern appliances etc.) without losing the charm of the old. It was great to have separate spaces in this charming house (with ensuites,views & most with own balconies/lounges) for each individual/pair of friends as well as nice,comfy spacious areas to get together. The owners have thought of everything and are very helpful in every way. Bize-Minervois is a real, non-touristy village with a nice river,friendly people, taverna, boulangerie etc. It is handy to key areas eg. Canal du Midi, Minerve and beyond but you need a car/taxi, though bikes could be fun locally. We wish it wasn't so far away from NZ/Australia, but we'll be back!

We had probably the best holiday ever here. We hired bikes and explored the beautiful countryside surrounding Bize and spent the evenings relaxing in the beautiful house eating lots of cheese and drinking great wine. Am torn between highly recommending this place and wanting to keep quiet about it as don't want it to get so booked up that we can't come back! Already planning our next trip over...

We stayed here for a week and had a lovely holiday. The house was in an excellent location in a really friendly pretty village. The house had two large terraces both of which over looked the river pool which was fantastic. The house itself was excellent, all the facilities and furniture were of a high standard and it made for a great holiday. I would definitely recommend anyone to stay here we will certainly return!
