This central Oregon vacation rental is well cared for and during the spring of 2011 underwent major remodeling, including the addition of a new bedroom, flat screen TV/DVD, wi fi service, exterior paint and new kitchen counter tops. On the main level guests gather by the large lava rock fireplace in the family room, which also has enough seating for five people. The open floor plan on the main level makes it convenient to be in the compact and efficient kitchen or dining room, while also enjoying the conversations in the family room. Just through the sliding glass door guests will find themselves on the back deck relaxing and enjoying the... surrounding Aspen grove or watching the hikers and bikers going by on the bike path.
Around the corner from the kitchen is a convenient stackable washer and dryer and shared hallway full size bathroom. The bathroom is flanked on the left by a guest room with two twin beds and white wicker furniture, while around the corner to the right of the bathroom is the newest addition to the house, a new bedroom featuring a new queen bed, crisp white bedding, contemporary/naturalist accents and sliding glass door leading out to the deck. The third bedroom is located upstairs in a loft area. This private suite area features a private 3/4 bathroom, queen bed and new bedding, and the large windows make it feel like you are in a tree house while laying in bed looking out into the forest. Guests will find Aspen House 004 a comfortable mountain hideaway with modern amenities including AC and wi fi throughout.

Black Butte is a gorgeous and relaxing place to stay. The food and related service is very good. Aspen Home 004 was lovely, but in need of some repairs: fridge leaked, bathroom sink has issues, some broken glasses and appliances left in a closet, etc., but nothing that prevented us from having a really nice time.
Needs some attention

Good location. However, there was some furniture pieces needing fixing and the master shower hot/cold knob just spins. Hot water ran out quickly.
Kitchen is functional. Overall - would not rent that specifc house again.

All service at Welcome Center, Lodge, Lodge Restaurant, Glaze Meadow Pool, and Stables was excellent. Lodge Restaurant brunch was fantastic! Aspen Home 4 was a clean, comfortable, cozy home for our weekend getaway. Downstairs queen bed was incredibly comfortable! Home also had a hide-a-bed couch. Appreciated big screen tv, but had to move couch to comfortably view. Thought we might be able to see aspen Lake from home, but it was secluded in trees, which was fine, too. Close enough for our 4 year old to ride her bike all the way to Glaze Meadow Pool and good access to other bike trails. Would have loved to have bike map signs on trails showing "You are here" spots. Can't wait to visit again!

A bunch of friends stayed here during quilt week. Air conditioning is great to have in southern Oregon . Accommodations fit our needs. Kitchen well stocked.downstairs shower a bit awkward as it was built under the staircase. Kitchen supplies were adequate
Enough room for us all!

There were 7 adults and a toddler in our party. Plenty of room to spread out, have private time, and enjoy the big living room together. We had sun, rain, snow...and went out and played inthem all. Enjoyed pretty much every amenity BB has to offer...gym,pool, spa, trails, horses...kept our fireplace going all evening. It was a wonderful "downtime" for everyone and so nice to have my loved ones with me 24/7 for my birthday celebration.

We enjoyed our stay but had a hard time finding the place after dark. One of us slipped and fell twice while looking for the stairs in the dark.
Lots of ice.
I thought the separate cleaning fee on top of the reservation rate was excessive.
A great vacation!

We rented the cabin for a girls weekend away and it was the perfect size! I loved the loft area, the bedrooms were all very spacious. The only suggestion would be to have another couch or more seating in the downstairs area, separate from the dining table. We had a wonderful experience here though, I would highly recommend it! The trails and area around the cabin were beautiful, I can't wait to go back.
Gorgeous setting and lots of fun

We had a wonderful time at the house and wish we had booked a longer period of time to enjoy all of its amenities thoroughly. It was conveniently located close to the Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show which we attended. Next time we will stay longer.

Service is fantastic. We enjoy the location. Well kept up home. If I could change anything it would be to increase the size of the kitchen, but understand this is standard size for the aspen Homes.
Mecca for outdoor activity

There's just so much to do right outside the door. I just had shoulder surgery, so I couldn't fish, play golf or play tennis, but it didn't matter. We rode our bikes every day, went hiking to the top of Black Butte, along the Metolius, and to Park Meadow at the base of South Sister, and kayaked on the lake. I can't wait to come back and enjoy those activities, plus play golf on your beautiful courses. We love the way the homes are situated so that the serenity of the forest and beauty of the big meadow are preserved, and the network of bike trails makes this large piece of property so accessible and family friendly.

MY wife and I and our married grand daughter and husband shared the home as an overflow to a much larger home where all 13 of our family could gather for food and fun over the Thanksgiving weekend. Aspen 4 worked our perfectly for the four 'newly weds' to get quality down time. I liked sitting by the fire in late afternoon reading while my wife napped. The grandkids had their nest on the second floor and we would all enjoy breakfast and conversation together. View from the living and TV rooms is pretty in the snow.
Great base for exploring the area

This house was a great base for exploring the area. The spacious main living space easily accomodated the 4 of us and we ate on the deck most evenings. Good morning sun in the living room made it a pleasant place to sit with a cup of coffee. One thing that surprised about the house was that the upstairs bedroom was more like a loft - it wasn't closed off from the first floor with doors or a full wall - not a problem, but not what we had expected. We like staying in this part of the Ranch; it has good access to the bike trails and pools, and we love biking up to the east side of the meadow and looking across towards the mountains.

We had a great time at BBR. The home was clean, tidy, and cozy. We appreciated that there were some activities with the indoor pool at the rec center to participate in with our daughter. We liked that it was less crowded in the winter.
We would have liked to have had our room on the same floor as our daughter's who is 5 and was too scared to sleep on the ground floor while we were upstairs.
Overall we had a great time.
A lovely Black Butte stay

Aspen House 004 is an example of Black Butte at its best. There's a view of Aspen Pond from the living room and bedroom windows, and all the comforts in the cabin needed for a comfortable and relaxing vacation.

Overall, this was a great stay. A great place for families and nice get-a-way. We loved the grounds and all there is to do. My only complaint is my son, 3 at the time, hurt his toe on an exposed nail on the back deck. My husband is a physican and was very close to getting him stitches. We would have for sure gotten tetnus shots had he not been fully immunized. I would recommend the back deck be re-done. It took over two weeks to heal and was pretty painful. Other than that, it was wonderful.
