This adorable cabin-style vacation rental home comes with a wood burning stove, free wi fi service and TV/VCR. It also has Mission style furnishings, Berber carpet and flooring. There is NO DISHWASHER available. The kitchen is small and has apartment-size appliances.
Downstairs: The living room, dining area and kitchen share one open area. The main level bedroom has a queen bed and full bath across the hall that services all guests. A stack washer and dryer sit in the small mud room at the back entrance. The door off the living room leads to a multi-level decked entrance. The sliding glass door off dining area leads to another nice deck... with patio furnishings and propane BBQ.
Upstairs: Loft bedroom with two twin beds, mission style club chair and ottoman. A good place to read and get away from the TV. Sliding glass door opens out to a large deck for sunning and playing.
It was comfortable, well equipped and everything worked.

It's rare to have a vacation rental feel "homey" and not be to "cutesy" but this one hit that note just right. It felt lived in and we thus felt that we could live there. Had everything that we needed, and was not cluttered up with much we didn't want. Everything worked well, too--although the TV and cable set up is kind of hard to figure out (in fairness though, every system is hard to figure out). The Ranch is a great place to stay, close to what we want to do, well equipped, fun. One suggestion: be sure to tell renters that the pool doesn't provide towels and point out some in the cabin we should use there. On the whole, a good time time was had by all.
Relaxing in the woods

Spring Home 1 was great for our family of 4. The kids really enjoyed sleeping in the loft, and we were at the nearby outdoor pool every afternoon. The house has a cozy feel.
Quiet and beautiful landscape, building was old and antiquated,

I was not very happy with the rental house we had. The appliance were ancient. There was no dishwasher. The ceiling fan squeaked the entire time. Since there was no a/C you had to use it. The refrigerator made a terrible noise all the time. And it was not very clean. I truly think the rental cost was exorbitant! The landscape was very nice and serene. The bike trails were fantastic! I wouldn't eat at the lodge restaurant again - too expensive for what you get. I will go back to Sun River next time.
Good quiet location

We always enjoy the Black Butte experience, and this is an appealing little
cabin. However, it could use some updating to make it
comfortable. The sofas are not comfortable, offering
no support from the loose pillow cushions. Tv channel options were
limited, and the TV itself was outdated. We had
back complaints after sleeping in the bed 3 nights. The decks
were new with nice seating but had to deal with pitch dripping
from the pine trees. Nice central location.
The geographical area is absolutely beautiful.

Everything about Black Butte Ranch was wonderful, except Spring Home 001. This was our first visit so perhaps all of the cabins have the same problem due to the heavy shade from trees. However, the cabin smelled very moldy/musty/old.
"fall" for Black Butte

Spring home 001 perfect for a fall getaway. Clean, cozy and quiet. Our third time at this home and we can't wait to visit again.
Beautiful comfortable place

Our only complaint was that there were some lapses in the unit. For instance, there were light bulbs missing or burnt out. We also would have liked to know what kind of food staples were there. Not having been there before we didn't know what to expect. That may be up to the owner, but then it would be helpful for them to tell you.

Beautiful place/at times weak service

The cabin was great. The response to a cabin issue that we had was great. The service at the recreation centers was at times weak; the employees were unprepared and poorly trained to deal with basic issues. We loved swimming in the outdoor pool with the steam room. The scenery was fantastic as always. Our daughter was disappointed that the rangler half day horse camp was no longer being offered.
Our 20th Wedding anniversary

We've stayed at Spring Home 001 before, so we knew about it when we chose it as the get-away for our twentieth anniversary. We try to stay as simply as we can, but we also love to walk. This cottage is intimate and clearly well-loved. Even in the snow, it's within easy walking distance of the Big Meadow and several walking loops. Will we be back again? Absolutely. If not for our anniversary, then perhaps sooner.
good time with family in rustic cabin in wooded surround

Beautiful day with snow capped trees. The kids had a blast, enjoying icicles, making a snow fort and tubing. Too bad we had to leave early due to a heavy snowstorm and didn't get to enjoy our ski pass as planned. Things to improve: a few more blankets, better check in with more info (what restaurants and gym/pool facilities were open, etc). Food and view great at the lodge!
Fun, relaxing, enjoyable

The cottage we stayed at was just too cute. Loved it and would highly recommend it for a group of four.

The home we rented was nice and clean. Service at Black Butte was horrible. For this reason I will never stay at the ranch again. Sun River has better service. Read more
We are happy you found your vacation home clean and nice for your stay. In regards, to "service", it would be beneficial for our management team to know what particular areas you had service challenges with so we can correct those items in the future. Thank you.
Cozy and Just The Right Size

As native Oregonians, my wife and I don't need a lot of pomp and
circumstance when it comes to appreciating the outdoors. Black Butte Ranch,
although its grown considerably in amenities and average home size, is still a
destination for folks like us: a place to escape the valleys and the plains
without much planning and effort.
Thankfully the Ranch still includes places like Spring Home 001. Not overly
large, not overly elegant, a place that a small family can slip into and call
home, if only for weekend. The owners have kept it small, and kept it real.
May we all appreciate it for the experience it can share with us as we enjoy the
Spring Home 001 Weekend

Stayed in "Spring Home" 001 for a weekend, one adult and two kids (teen and pre-teen). The house was perfect in its location, size, and accomodations. With a downstairs double bed and upstairs loft with two twin beds, it was plenty spacious but really cozy. The kids loved it!
We were able to bike anywhere from here and it even had covered parking. Ideal for a single parent and we will ask for it next time!

The house was perfect for my husband and I to celebrate our wedding anniversary. It was clean, cozy, and very quiet. We really enjoyed the deck off the back. Black Butte in general was a wonderful place for us to vacation. We loved all the outdoor activities with the comforts of home instead of a tent! I would highly recommend Spring Home 001 and Black Butte to anyone looking for a relaxing vacation in the heart of nature.
