This house was located near the pool and had a great open layout.
There was a bit of a musty smell , might need some updating/carpet cleaning, but was not that noticeable.
Black Butte was great, GM 037 was mediocre.

First, the good points. Excellent location and room enough to accommodate the nine of us. It was clean and well stocked with bathroom supplies.
On the negative side, the place was gloomy and poorly maintained. The decor was outdated and contributed to the gloominess of the house. The deck was old and rickety and in need of replacement. The kitchen was poorly stocked with cooking utensils. The stove and oven hardware needed repair. The internet password was incorrect and we had to spend time finding the correct one. To sum it up, we felt that the place was considerably over priced.

Enjoyed our time immensely. This was our first trip to the area and we had a great time playing at Hoodoo and shopping in Sisters. The cabin was spacious and comfortable...and quiet. Close to the pool, which the kids enjoyed. Can't wait to go back.
Great house for families

The layout of Gm037 is perfect for two families with somewhat older children who don't mind sleeping apart from mom and dad. The parents can stay in the two bedrooms downstairs and the children can have a bunkroom in the large bedroom upstairs. The play/TV area is also upstairs for nice separation of space, but the home is small and open enough that everyone is still together. Open floor plan with kitchen, dining, and living is great for socializing while cooking. This home is cozy and pleasant.
We were disappointed that BBR didn't have the kids activities they have during the summer (we were there in January). The weather was the pits and we were looking for things to do. Thankfully, this home is walking distance to GM Rec Center.
Black Butte Ranch management was always very cordial but it also felt a bit big brother-ish at times. They made some errors, charging the other family we were with a fee they shouldn't have been charged, but they refunded it when they realized the mistake. Still, a pain to deal with. We were thankful this home allowed our friend's mellow dog to come along but Bbr's additional pet "cleaning fee" is exorbitant and unnecessary. The people created more mess than the dog.
All in all, a good vacation rental.
Snowy, wonderland for our spring break.

Great place for the family to get together. We enjoyed going for great walks. Sitting around a cozy fire playing games and visiting over the kitchen table. Look forward to the next time we are all able to meet up at black butte.
