      Relaxing

Left on 07/12/2012 for a stay in July 2012

Maison Reve is a cozy condominium in a lovely forested setting and is within walking distance of three very different eateries - casual fair, deli/coffeehouse/wine shop, and a white tablecloth dinner house.

Kitchen, bathroom, and bedrooms are first rate. Great room furniture could be more comfortable. It lacks small touches, such as hand soap and instructions for internet use.

All in all a nice place to relax and unwind.

      Great

Left on 06/28/2012 for a stay in June 2012

The location/service was great. We really enjoyed our stay. The unit had some minor problems that need to be corrected-no wifi, sugar ants in the kitchen, screen in door needs work, master bedroom door does not lock, doors on furniture outside master bedroom would not stay closed. In addition, the tape on the stairs need to be repaced with skid proof tape. These were minor problems. The kitchen and master bathroom were great.

      Cozy, Convenient, Eminently Comfortable

Left on 10/26/2011 for a stay in October 2011

On the second annual reunion of the 1975 Sophomore Suitemates of Furman University, we chose Black Mountain as our destination. Maison Reve proved a perfect home base for our gathering and wandering during a peak foliage weekend. We spent most of the day walking in Montreat and visiting downtown shops; we lunched at Veranda and dined at Que Sera, both competitive with any metropolitan gourmet restaurant. On Sunday, we visited several sites in the asheville area Parade of Homes and capped the weekend with dinner at Tupelo Honey Cafe. However, sitting on the Maison Reve porch, morning and night, wrapped in blankets, listening to leaves rustle, fall, then skip along the sidewalk, remembering our past, sharing our present, and toasting our future...those moments were certainly the highlights of our time together.

      Nice Place

Left on 10/10/2011 for a stay in September 2011

This is a nice house in a nice location -- convenient to most things in Black Mountain. It was the second time we stayed in the home. We prepared several meals in the home, and found everything we needed. All of the kids had an excellent time hiking and enjoying the scenery in Black Mountain!

Lovely condo right in the adorable Cheshire Village. The condo had everything including a fireplace you could turn on with a switch. You can walk to restaurants, beauty salon and market and drive easily to downtown Black Moutain (5 minutes) and asheville (15 minutes). Loved it!

The only thing we missed was a gas grill and some sort of music system, everything else was great.

Cheshire Village very convenient for Black Mountain vacation

Left on 01/07/2010 for a stay in December 2009

Greybeard Realty in Black Mtn. is great to work with for vacation rentals and real estate transactions as well. They are friendly and knowledgeable with prompt follow up.

My stay in Maison Reve was the week of Christmas 2009. The area had just gotten blasted with snow so it wasn't a surprise when we got there that we couldn't navigate the road to the townhouse. A very friendly neighbor helped us unload the car and we parked down at the Village Center. This may have been difficult for an elderly or disabled couple to manage as there was also 15-18 inches of snow all the way up the stairs to the front door.
The townhouse was warm and cozy when we arrived, even a welcoming loaf of pumpkin bread waiting for us.
It is modern and spacious, however the furnishings didn't really seem to be set up for the comfort of the guests. There was a couch and a small setee(?), but not practical/comfortable for five to sit and chat. Larger beds would be nice. It technically can sleep 5 but with a queen bed, full bed and metal/day bed twin it's not optimal. Also the linens really need to be updated, they seem to be cast offs someone was not using. We also had to make our own beds on arrival. I had not experienced that before in a vacation rental.

The kitchen was modern and well equipped, great for cooking meals and staying in on cold days. The unit is quite spacious and the garage would have been great, just couldn't get to it with the snow and ice.

Cheshire Village is a very nice and convenient location, with restaurants, shopping right there and quick access to town and the interstate. Black Mountain is such a great town and everyone we interacted with was very friendly, even dealing with the winter storm!

Maison Reve Stay 8/1 through 9/10/09

Left on 09/03/2009 for a stay in August 2009

Maison Reve is a very nice condo, but does have serious drawbacks for
present standards. The Master Bedroom has a Queen size bed. It should
be a king size. Also, upstairs in the guest room there is a small double
bed. A six foot man cannot sleep in it without curling his legs. It should
have at least a queen size bed.

Additionally, the TV set has very poor sound quality and is quite small by
      today's standards.

Parking is questionable for more than one vehicle. However, the garage is
      fine for one car.

This townhouse has a chronic ant problem. The exterminator was here 3
times, but he cannot seem to cure the problem although he greatly
alleviated it. A more inside/outside professional treatment is needed.

There were several other more minor problems that needed maintenance,
and I highly commend GreyBeard Realty for their very prompt and efficient
attention to correcting them. However, arranging to be present for the
      corrections was a nuisance.

Basically correction of the above would make this townhouse much more
desirable. I would not rent it again unless the bed situation was changed as
      suggested..

      Sincerely,
      Edmund Astolfi
