Orchard knob Is Beautiful. We had a wonderful visit. We did get into the house on Saturday midday. Fortunately we decided to go into town for food staples only to get snowed in on Sunday. We lost power for several hours. Greybeard assisted in getting engineer to strop by and fix gas fireplace so we had heat. The owners gave us far more paper products and stock items in the refrigerator than expected.
There was nothing we wanted for and would thoroughly enjoy a return visit.
The location on the mountains was very picturesque for autumn and then gave us a feel for winter when the snow storm hit.

Great views. If you like to walk, better be in fairly good shape. Roads are very steep. Don't feed the bears . They're there.

Delightful spacious home. It was on top of a mountain but all on paved roads. We had a wonderful weekend with friends. Took walks around the house- saw wild turkeys. Close to town.

This is my family's favorite place to stay while in Black Mountain. It is set-up perfectly for our needs and the view off the rear deck is wonderful. We consider this our home away from home.

Nice home, well kept, spacious with 3 full bed rooms with own bath and another half bath in enrance hall.All modern amenities. Beautiful view facing south toward Black Mountain. Very steep access road can be a challenge if there is the slightest amount of ice or snow. Small recommendation:shower curtainsare mildewed. They can be changed inexpensively and it would be more pleasant when taking a shower.

The house was wonderful, spacious, and the view off the deck was fabulous. The driveway was tough, very steep. A large vehicle might have some problems manuvering in it.

We loved the house, the spaciousness and large rooms. The grandchildren had the basement to themselves and loved that. We had a great time dining on the deck and enjoying the beautiful view. The only complaint we had was that it was so far away from everything and a very difficult route to follow after dark. Also, we had trouble with the gate opening several times. Fortunately each time an owner with remote appeared

Gathering with our adult children and their significant others was relaxed and fun. For the price of two hotel rooms, the house allowed everyone to have their own space and had plenty of room for getting everyone together for a meal, a card game or just a relaxing morning on the deck. There were a wide variety of activities nearby and we enjoyed visiting asheville and the town of Black Mountain as well as hiking and driving the Blue Ridge Pkwy. We loved all the types of nature we were able to see from the deck including wild turkey chicks following their mom, exciting lightening storms and three bear cubs with their mother checking out the wild raspberries in the yard!
