This was a great house for three couples since there was a bedroom on each of the three floors. Three full baths and two half baths -- wow! The beds and pillows are great. The view is spectacular and the outdoor space is wonderful. The lowest level could use some thick rugs or even carpet. The concrete floor was very cold and it never really got warm down there. If we "bumped up" the heat to try to warm the lower level, then the third floor was broiling hot. The kitchen could also be better appointed. We cooked Thanksgiving dinner and didn't really have all the utensils and cookware we needed. However, we'd certainly rent Firefly again, but would just be prepared to bring in some things of our own.

Fairly nice place with adequate but a little dated furnishings. Beds ok, tvs just ok, kitchen good. The location is nice from being away from all others. The view is not bad but I somehow pictured being higher up I guess or having a little more sweeping view. A bear ripped our bear box to shreds and got the garbage that had been left and took it up the hill and then sent the garbage back down the hill into our yard and laughing at us. We thought it was pretty cool. All in all we were happy and we especially liked the nice folks at Black Mountain ale House and Pisgah Brewing. We love microbrews. We will use Greybeard again for rental in the ashville area. Nice folds, easy reservation advice, reasonable value.

Great accomondations. Loved the bedroom arrangements,and living spaces. The porches added great extra space.Views were wonderful with easy access to Black Mountain and Montreat. Realty staff was very nice to work with. The only problem was the lack of instruction for fireplace use.

Great vacation house. Loved that it had 3 levels, so kids were on one floor, while adults were on another. Great balconies; and everyone enjoyed the firepit.

We were very comfortable at the Firefly Lodge for a sisters and sister-in-law weekend in early October. Rooms and beds were very comfortable with plenty of room for our group of 7. Great porches with mountain views. Lots of bathrooms. 5 minutes to downtown Black Mountain, just a few minutes from Montreat and about 15 minute easy drive to asheville. Our only issue was that whomever emptied the trash before our arrival left bags in the wooden "bear box" outside the house and a bear got into it one evening. The house may need a lock on that "bear box" or may need to invest in a metal one. It was a great house for weekend - it would be even better for a week or a month!

We stayed at Firefly for almost a week. It was better then we could imagined. The view was great, it was secluded with just a short ride to town, the town of Black Mountain has some of the nicest people we have ever met, Asheville is just a short ways off, and the food all over the place was amazing. The cabin itself was more than enough space for us. Our only complaint was we did not have more time to stay longer.
