We wanted to rent a cabin in the mountains but we chose to rent in Black Mountain instead and I'm glad we did. This is a wonderful little house with some great amenities. We enjoyed the town because it was small and charming--the restaurants, shops and taverns were perfect for our family--low key and yet they offered a great selection in gifts, food and spirits. We were able to travel to asheville for a day of sightseeing and were also able to enjoy the local scenery. We had a wonderful Thanksgiving.

Hosted a wedding shower with out of town guests, so rented Tulip Cottage for two nights for some of the overflow from my own home. Very well equipped, nicely decorated and conveniently located only 2 short blocks to my house and just as near to Lake Tomahawk and downtown Black Mountain. The only constructive feedback I heard from guests staying there was that bedroom mirrors would be a good addition so that some can do their hair & makeup in the bedrooms without taking up valuable bathroom space. Also, there are quite a few stairs to get up to the front porch and stairs inside to reach 2 bedrooms on second floor (but there is one first floor bedroom), so anyone with knee problems may want to know this.

We needed a place to stay for three nights close to asheville. This pet-friendly cabin was modern, brand new, and very comfortable. It is located in a quiet older neighborhood within walking distance of downtown Black Mountain. It was the perfect "homebase" to explore asheville (less than 10-15 min away by interstate), the surrounding Blue Ridge Parkway hiking trails, and the wonderful small town of Black Mountain. The folks at Greybeard Rentals were great. The rental process was very smooth.

Springboro, OhioA nice, relaxing stay in Black Mountain, NC.

We stayed at Tulip Cottage in Black Mountain, NC. And, what a beautiful cabin! We loved the place and enjoyed our stay. We took walks around Lake Tomahawk and fed the ducks. We even walked into town for some ice cream at Kilwin's. Honestly, we loved everything except that we love scenic mountain views and this cabin did not offer a view. We enjoy waking up to a beautiful sunrise over the mountains, as well as sunsets in the evening, and Tulip Cottage is not in a location to enjoy those views. Other than that, it was perfect and we truly enjoyed our stay!

Tuilp Cottage is a great place to stay for a trip to Black Mountain. It is conviently located to downtown and Tomahawk Lake. It is also just a very short trip to Montreat.
Greybeard Rentals is awesome. They provide great customer service and they make the check-in process and check-out process very easy.
