Milledgeville, IllinoisReunion in the woods
Left on 01/25/2012 for a stay in July 2009
A great getaway in the woods. If your looking for peace and tranquility this is the place. Well maintained and clean. We spent several days with our children and grandchildren. We had campfires at night and roasted marshmallows. We brought along a John Deere Gator (its like a golf cart) and took several drives in the woods and along the road coming up to the home. The grandkids loved it. We did not see deer (saw lots of signs)but beautiful song birds were at the feeder each day. Their are so many fun things to do in the area. We loved our time at Caballete.

Concrete, WAWe had a peaceful, relaxing week at Caballete Retreat!
Left on 01/20/2012 for a stay in August 2010
We loved our stay at Caballete! The beautiful stone work in the sunken living room, the dining nook with bay window, the Library Room with a wall of books!! We came to WI to visit Family and friends, and for sightseeing, etc. One of the most enjoyable parts of each day was coming home in the evening to the Retreat. We would read in a different room or chair, as the mood struck us; and watch the birds at the feeder. We took time out to enjoy the forest woodland as seen from the deck, and morning hikes up the Ridge. The Retreat is tastefully decorated, clean and very comfortable! Sara Scholze is a wonderful Hostess. I would recommend a stay here for a romantic getaway, classmate or best friend reunions, and for anyone wanting to relax. We will stay at Caballete Retreat next time we visit Wisconsin!

We are happy that you had a great stay. The library room for reading is a favorite for the guests. And many love to watch the birds. The hiking is nice too, so glad you could do that also. Hope you can return again.

BRFPeaceful and Clean!
Left on 01/19/2012 for a stay in February 2007
We rented the retreat and invited some ladies over for a card making party. There was room to set up a number of tables and all our guests found the place easily too. It was perfect. The atmosphere outside was exquisite! It was quiet and there was no traffic or distractions. It was very clean and the kitchen was set up perfectly and had everything we needed to make some delicious treats. I would recommend this place in a heartbeat to anyone who is looking to get away-I can't think of anything we didn't like. It's quiet and relaxing, yet only minutes from great restaurants, downtown shopping on Main Street and grocery stores.
