Left on 05/01/2013 for a stay in February 2013
This log cabin is located in a quiet and peaceful countryside area. Everything was great, but if I had to pick the main highlights they would be:
- Great communication with Michelle and Chris
- Hot tub in the garden is amazing
- Projector made for great viewing, especially in the evenings
- Wet room and heated floors were perfect after a dip in the hot tub
- Very cosy and plenty of character, particulalry in the kitchen area
- All the kitchen amenities you would need
- Close to City Centre/Canterbury Cathedral
Thank you for a great stay! -

Left on 04/27/2013 for a stay in April 2013
Honey Lodge is amazing! Clean, comfortable, fully equipped, quiet location, with spacious accommodation , large gardens, with a hot tub to die for! Private and secure. We stayed mid week Monday to Friday and was excellent value. Michelle and Chris are very helpful. Any one who decides to stay here will not be disappointed in any way. We can't wait to return soon . The added bonus we had was fantastic weather 22* all week. Perfect. Also close to good roads for sight seeing, we visited Herne Bay, Margate,Whitstable,Coventry and Maidstone all within easy reach . Most recommended .

Left on 04/10/2013 for a stay in April 2013
We had a wonderful stay at Honey Lodge. The weather was bleak but the lodge was warm and cosy. The lodge is extremely well equipped and is very luxurious from the range style cooker to the bubbling hot tub. The welcome pack was an added treat and it's little touches like this that made our stay extra special. Our children especially enjoyed playing in the treehouse and zooming down the zip wire and the dog enjoyed his walks in the nearby Blean Woods.
The lodge is in a fantastic location and there is plenty to do. We enjoyed a visit to Whitstable and a ride on the Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch railway. There was so much to entertain us in the lodge too.
We will definitely recommend this holiday home to our friends.
We cannot fault this lodge at all. A luxurious and relaxing place to stay.

This place did not disappoint. A lovely hamper of local delights, a birthday card and cake, banners and balloons and a bottle of fizz in the fridge and we had only been there 5minutes.
A little of bit heaven. You feel like you are miles from anywhere with the secluded garden and hot tub.. Totally peaceful and beautiful. Yet you are minutes from the lovelyBlean woodlands (where there is a man with a coffee machine car for you to get a hot chocolate or latte from). Short 10 min drive to Canterbury for a lovely stroll around the town and cathedral, even nearer is Whitstable for another meander or even nearer Herne Bay which we noticed you can cycle from there to Reculver towers.. Then a 20 minute drive and we were in Dover at the castle..
Perfect location for a lovely break and then you come back to a log cabin with a hot tub and glass of fizz (every night). Tub warms you to the bone and you sleep like a baby..
There was so much to do and see in Kent but atthe same time we wanted to spend lots of time in the lodge as it was so relaxing.. Definitely need to return...

If you are looking to get completely away from it all this is the place for you. I took my sister as a surprise 40th birthday present along with my Mum & Dad, both over 70 & 4 kids - there is something for everyone...
I usually dislike the beds whenever I go on holiday but these beds were clean and fresh and sooo snugly you just wanted to stay in them...
We were welcomed with flowers and a complementary box of goodies from local suppliers, some milk and other goodies and Chris popped in to see that we settled in OK.
There is everything you need - there were even a few groceries left for convenience - oil, salt & pepper, all the little bits that you may have forgotten to pack.
The lodge itself is so enchanting with tactile beams and a beautifully made bespoke kitchen, everything just fits.
With a play station and Wii + plenty of Dvd's and games to play, not to mention the hot tub which even in the rain was great (two large umbrella's are available to put up over the tub). You will wish you had longer to enjoy the lodge.
We had a fantastic time and I am a travel snob - if a lodge can be luxury this one is...

We've just returned from a 7 day break at Honey Lodge, it's a lovely very quiet and secluded lodge. Close enough to a pub and a little local shop but with the feeling of being totally on your own! The lodge is beautifully built to a very high standard with everything you could possibly want and need in such a place including a log burner and a large hot tub right outside on the decking. We will definitely go back, next time with the kids.

We very much enjoyed our stay. The lodge was exceptionally clean and tidy with a very cosy homely feel. Very warm inside, particularly under foot in the bathroom where the heated under flooring is at its best. The little touches make a real difference and have left us looking forward to booking our next stay. Hot tub was lovely and on the one occasion we needed support, we were help extremely quickly and professionally. A wonderful retreat.

Left on 12/14/2012 for a stay in December 2012
As soon as you walk into Honey Lodge it just blows you away. We stayed a couple of weeks before Christmas to explore Whitstable and Canterbury but found it quite hard to leave the lodge at all!
It's immaculately clean, beautifully decorated and utterly relaxing.
Highlights from the lodge and our holiday include:
- The welcome basket (especially the tiger bread and prosecco)
- The huge Christmas tree and family of Christmas reindeer :)
- The heated bathroom floor
- The hot tub (especially nice on cold nights)
- The food at the Royal Oak pub (absolutely amazing)
- The kitchen - wonderfully quirky
- The wood burner
It's also worth mentioning that we don't drive but found it very easy to get to both Whitstable and Canterbury on the regular buses from right next to the lodge.
The only negative was having to leave at 10am - a bit later would've been nicer!

From the initial planning to this review Chris and Michelle deserve the highest praise for efficiency and customer service. This is a team of 2 halves each with their own areas of expertise who together make their guests feel very special . While we stayed in the lodge we did get. Peek in the newly finished treehouse , maybe next time guys.
The lodge was large and spacious and even though it sleeps 8 and we had it all to ourselves it and the landscaped gardens would easily have coped with a big family . We loved the quirky use of wood extras Chris had lovingly added to the lodge while even the drapes and bedding were such high quality that we thought it was still night the following morning at 9 am. The tech was brill the broadband a treat and we didn't realise till day 3 that the sky had movies and sports Chanels also .
The jaccuzi was clean simple to operate and very hot although we did get buzzed at 10:15 on 2 nights by chinook helicopters that were less than 200 feet up ,so much so that the whole cabin vibrated violently .
I wouldn't class that as a negative it was a bit of a buzz really .
Anyway the food pack provided to get us started was a nice touch and the kitchen had everything you needed and I mean everything .
I loved the log splitter contraption , we will return here with the kids prob next year and can't wait for Chris' s next project as we are sure it will be as unique as the current properties. This is an ideal retreat for course or families in luxury
and we wish Chris and Michelle every success for the future . I'm of to do my lottery and if I win I know who will be building our house for us.
Thanks Liese and Paul
Ps loved the beetle in the stone worktop very quirky maybe in keeping. Honey bees in resin around the lodge or garden might be great for the kids to find -

We stayed for four nights as a late deal and couldn't have asked for more. Booking was straightforward and the welcome basket of goodies was much appreciated - especially the Bucks Fizz which we sipped in the superb hot tub under the stars!!!
The lodge was extremely well - equipped and there was enough equipment in the kitchen to have prepared a full - scale roast if that was needed. All rooms were spotless (and I'm really fussy!) and the bedding smelled fresh and clean. The wet room was a bonus as there is room for two under the shower so no need to queue!
Although we had to pay £200 deposit against damage or breakages, this was returned before we had even arrived home.
All in all, a wonderful place that we shall go back to. -

Left on 10/22/2012 for a stay in October 2012
This cabin is excellent. On arrival there was a small selection of essentials to get us started as well as a bottle of bubbly waiting in the fridge. The cabin reflects the hard work and detail put in during the build. The fixtures, fittings and furniture are all fitting for this high quality accomodation. The hot tub and wet room shower add to the experience. Booking was straight forward and communication from the owners was good. The only drawback is that the parking area exits onto a reasonably busy road with restricted visibility.
We had the chance to look around the tree house and this seems to be to the same high standard as Honey Lodge, offering a truly unique hideaway for a few days r&r;. -

We were immediately impressed with holiday let, when we first walked in and there waiting for us was a care package containing milk, tea, coffee and biscuits (The champagne was a nice touch). After we unpacked we read the really useful book they had produced explaining what is available to do in the local area. The accommodation was very clean and well maintained. We had a fantastic time and are now considering going back next year for another peaceful week. I would give this holiday full marks and I am recommending to friends and family.

We have just returned from a 4 night stay at Honey Lodge. We really loved it.It is well located for Canterbury and Whitstable...also broadstairs is close which is a lovely seaside town...Lots of lovely clean beaches. Canterbury is great for shopping and Whitstable had independent shops which were a bit quirky. A very enchanting place.
The lodge itself is big and luxurious...the pictures on the website really don't do it justice. It is a lovely big open plan kitchen, dining room and lounge with a big, cinema type screen for watching Dvds...and playing the Wii which my husband loved!A lovely big sofa which is very comfortable. Big glass doors looking out onto decking with a sensational hot tub...( Very relaxing ). The garden and lodge is not overlooked and is very private.
The bathroom is big and has a lovely shower...The double bedroom is a good size and the bed is large and comfortable.
The large sloping ceilings in the lodge also make it feel very spacious.
We had a lovely break here. Michelle and Chris were very obliging, friendly people. -

We did manage to visit some of the coast whilst in Kent, including Canterbury, but we were more than happy just to relax in the garden or in the hot tub, whilst the children played in the treehouse! We were so impressed with the lodge. The welcome of milk, bread and more goodies was exceptional. Te cleanliness and the feel of natural wood made it cosy and warm. The log burner was not needed as te weather was good, but we are sure in the winter its a boon. The bedrooms were comfortable with enough drawers and hanging space for all our clothes and shoes, The decor bedclothes and curtains were very tastefully done. The Dressing gowns + slippers made it feel very luxurious. The Hot Tub was a wonderful way to relax, especially when a bottle of champagne had also been supplied, another experience. The surrounding area had a pub with garden, where they did lovely meals. The Hut in the pub carpark sold lots of fresh fruit and vegtables. They were in walking distance 5mins away, other shops for newspapers and groceries about 15mins away, so you didn't have to go far for anything. Whitstable and Canterbury not far by car. The views from the log cabin across the fields and the Druidstone Park nearby with the call of the peacocks and occasional braying or mooing, looking out to the tree house made it feel like somewhere in africa. Everyhing was so lovely you built a dream home and let us share it with you, we will certainly come again.

Honey Lodge was a very welcome retreat from the everyday stresses of a busy life. A real oasis, so pleased to find a wheelchair accessible rental property that is packed full of luxury extras, i.e hot tub, wet room, huge screen tv. The welcome pack and little things like hankies, hand cream and body creams are what you usually find in hotels, a real thoughtful touch. Flowers in the living area, then the basics are also available, kitchen roll, loo roll, dishwasher tabs, condiments in the kitchen, a real home from home.
So well positioned to be really private, if lucky enough to have the weather we did, it's as good if not better than being abroad.
Lots of places to visit in Canterbury or at the coast. Wonderful places to eat everywhere.
Chris & Michelle are offering a fabulous service to the tourist industry, can't wait to return and will definitely be recommending this to friends and family. -

My 6 and 8 year old sons loved the tree house, zip wire and trampoline and spent most of time outside having fun. The tree house and trampoline positioned well in the garden where I could keep a careful eye on them.
Relaxing in the hot tub with a few glasses of champagne made a lovely end to the evening. While still being able too keep an eye on kids watching big screen tv munching on popcorn which was in our welcome pack. Michelle thought of everything to make our stay the best at honey lodge. We chose Honey Lodge for a romantic weekend away on the strength of other reviews, having decided on the Whitstable area because of it's reputation for fantastic restaurants. Honey Lodge was perfect in every way. Location wise it is secluded and quiet but with a good pub about 100 metres away, was easy to find and only a £7 taxi ride into Whitstable. The facilities provided are first class, we loved the hot tub, cinema screen tv, log fire and rainforest shower as well as being impressed with the fully equipped kitchen. The overall service from Michelle and Chris was excellent and we really appreciated the welcome pack which contained essential sundries like milk and bread as well as a lovely bottle of bubbly. We had a fabulous time and left feeling totally relaxed and planning our next visit.

Honey Lodge is beautifully appointed and well equipped. Before taking time out of my career to become a Mum I worked for the biggest tour operator for over 10 years selecting accommodation for holidays. Therefore I have seen thousands of hotels, villas and holiday homes and I cannot fault this one. Michelle and Chris clearly understand their target market and cater expertly for families and couples looking for a relaxing break with luxury touches.
Our two and a half year old was over the moon with the treehouse and it was very difficult to extract him from it. There is also a trampoline and a lovely hot tub.
Chris was very welcoming and helpful when we needed assistance. Michelle responded to queries during the booking process very efficiently and helped with restaurant suggestions etc...
In a nutshell we simply loved it and can't wait to return. It will be a perfect holiday for us next year when our next child arrives.
There is so much to see and do in the surrounding area and we look forward to discoverng this corner of Kent further in the future.
Thanks you very much for a wonderful stay. Your personal touches such as flowers, toiletries and the welcome basket make it even more secial. We hope you continue to build upon your successful business and charity work and that the planning permission for the fantastic looking tree house is approved very very soon. -

The Lodge was fantastic. It was in a good location with plenty to around, or nothing if you prefer like we did. We really enjoyed spending our days relaxing in the hot tub, having a BBQ and then watching the TV in front of the log burning fire. We would definitely go back. Everything was perfect and could not find fault with the accommodation.

A group of us stayed at Honey Lodge in September, we had an amazing weekend and will definitely be returning again.
The lodge was spacious, great location (10mins from Canterbury and 10mins from Whistable) and had all the right facilities to make a relaxing weekend.
The hot tub was the highlight for our group and we spent most of our evenings listening to music and chilling.
Beds where very comfortable and the sofa a great extra for more people to sleep on.
We will be highly recommending Honey Lodge
Thank you -

What a wonderful relaxing way to spend my 40th birthday with my family. The lodge was just perfect, immaculately clean and spacious. Our 3 boys aged 11,9 and 6 had a fantastic time on the zip-wire, trampoline, treehouse and in the hot tub. They also loved the hammock and cinema screen. The personal touches by the owners make all the difference. As our youngest son said "it was wicked".

As a nature girl, Honey Lodge is the perfect place for getting away from it all. It also caters perfectly for 3 my disabled sons needs. They loved the hot tub, the new tree house and huge cinema screen. I loved everything there is to love about it... the lay-out, the cleaniness, the location and much more. It was our 2nd time at Honey Lodge, and the experience just gets better, so much so that I have booked a further 3 weeks at the log cabin next year! I would definitely recommend anyone interested to book early to avoid missing out!

Honey lodge exceeded our expectations. We had a fantastic 3 day stay with our 9 month old daughter. We would definitely come again and have already recommended it to friends and family.

I booked the Honey Lodge for my 25th birthday with 6 of my friends and we all loved it! The pictures online do not prepare you for how beautiful and spaceous the Lodge is. With 7 people, I was worried we would get in each others way but we had plenty of space.
We all fell in love with the hot and hammock!
Our plans to go shopping and for long walks went out of the window, this is the perfect place to sit back and relax.
Highly recommend. -

We have just stayed in Honey Lodge for the weekend, it was amazing! The hot tub is brilliant, we sat in it during a downpour drinking champagne... who said the british summer is terrible!!
Chris and Michelle were amazing and thanks Chris for lighting the fire and sorting the hot tub!
It really was a great time, the shower is big enough for all 8 people and the rooms are big and comfortable.
Definitely want to come again soon! Amazing! -

Honey Lodge easily accomodated two families of four with plenty of space for everybody. Once you arrive you don't want to leave. Well located for walks and beach. Th kids loved the hot tub and the tree house, a real treat. In the five nights we stayed we only went out twice we were so comfortable and relaxed. Once you get settled in, which takes all of about five minutes, Honey Lodge is a lovely place to unwide and relax.

We had a great break at the Honey Lodge. Everything was excellent! The house has all the comfort that you need and the area is lovely to explore!
Our girls also loved the tree house and ziprope (?)
We used the Hot Tub multiple times a day and although the weather was great we also used the log burner...because it is cosy...The purple couch (is that the right word?) and the big screen were wonderfull
We had a lovely time and the place were we stayed really made it special... and the welcome package is such a nice touch!

Absolutely great. Perfect to pamper yourself for a week.
Beware bed is so cosy might not want to get out, ok except to soak in the hotub, have a bbq, stick a film on the cinema screen (with great sounds system) light a fire in a good quality burner. Breakfast in the tree house is a must. Also the gardern and decked area is very spacious but also really private which is lovely. Also lots of little touches make it a great stay, good selection of board games, we had a lovely welcome hamper, great after a long drive, scented wax on the burner and few treats to pamper ourselves with. -

We went to Honey Lodge for our wedding anniversary at the recommendation of our daughter. It far surpassed our expectations. It was warm, welcoming and comfortable. I cooked a lovely meal on the Saturday night and there was everything I needed in the fully equipped kitchen. Chris and Michelle's attention to detail was amazing, from the bathrobes and slippers to the fresh flowers on the table. The welcome pack was a lovely touch. Both evenings were finished off drinking champagne in the hot tub under the stars. What more can I say?
The only thing missing was Sky Sports to watch the England game on the huge TV screen, which seems a shame when Sky Movies is part of the package, especially with the Olympic Games ahead. -

Honey Lodge is a beautiful place to stay, inside and outside. All the extras are provided that you would expect to find in your own home and it really feels as if you are in your own little haven away from the outside world! My husband and I picked this lodge because he has limited mobility and it worked very well from that perspective. The hot tub was a fantastic way to unwind and we enjoyed watching movies on the big screen. The only problem for us was that we were cold on the first night as we didn't know how to adjust the heating, but that was easily sorted out and the rest of the week was just perfect. Will be recommending it to all my friends!!

We stayed in Honey Lodge at the end of November 2010, and absolutely fell in love with the place. Its in the perfect location, you arent too far from anything yet you get the feeling that you in the middle of nowhere. Sitting in the hot tub in the middle of night looking at the stars was amazing, and despite the weather you dont get cold! We had fresh flowers, champage, malteasers and much more when we arrived. The Log burner was great, as was the cinema screen, and the open plan lounge/kitchen dinig area gave it a very relaxing homely yet romantic feel. The bedrooms were beautifully decorated, and very comfortable, and we did not want to leave. We will most definitly be returning at our earliest avaliable opertunity. I would reccoment this to anybody!

What a lovely time,
Log fire and a glass of wine,
Children's laughter, squeals of delight,
Eyes tight shut tired at night.
Lying back in the hot tub,
Snow falling from the sky above,
Forty degrees, bubbling lights,
Gazing in wonderment at starry nights,
We've cooked and eaten everything,
Didn't have to unpack the things we bring,
It's all here utensils galore,
Not like the places we stayed at before.
It's inspiring, enlightened us to see,
It feels so natural to live in a tree,
We have travelled far and wide,
Honey lodge is the place to stay inside.
A brilliant time we have had a ball,
But don't want to spoil it and tell you all,
So a toast to Honey Lodge, Chris and Michelle,
We hope you have a sublime stay as well.

My stay at the Honey lodge was awesome. But first, I want to thank you Michelle and Chris for your tremendous help and support. (Thanks Chris for the light fire tricks lol).
The accommodation is so comfortable and makes you feel home as soon as you step in.
Everything was ready for us to have a good time from the big screen to that beautiful full equipped kitchen.
We really enjoyed the Hot tub, especially at this period of the year, it was just great.
The location is perfect cause it places you far from everything and is only 5 minutes away from the supermarket.
The Honey Lodge is definitely the right place to rest and we promised my friend and I to come back as soon is possible.
Well done guys...
Thanks for everything

Honey \Lodge is a credit to the owners Chris &Michelle; , and in my opinion, although the photos are good, they still dont do it justice, because the reality of seeing Honey Lodge on arrival, just brings a great big smile to your face, and as you turn the key in the lock, open the big wooden door and see the interior, the vaulted cielings, the beautifull kitchen, the widescreen cinema, the smile widens and you cant wait to take a look through the beamed entrance to the luxurious wet room(complete with towling monogramed bathrobes). The two fabulous bedrooms set on each side.
Outside everything for relaxing, a sunk in Hot Tub, Barbecue etc, Everything you need and more at such amazing value. Pub restaurant 1 minute away!!
What more can i say. Go on book it now.

We stayed at Honey Lodge with our 10 month old daughter and had a thoroughly enjoyable and relaxing stay. We were looking for a quiet place where we could relax but also a location with easy access to local tourist attractions. Honey Lodge exceeded our expectations on both counts. I cannot stress how happy we were when we opened the stable door to see the lodge. Finished to such a high standard and exceptionally clean (important when you have a little munchkin who likes to crawl around on the floor). The kitchen is very well equipped and we wanted for nothing throughout our stay. The extra touches such as toiletries, robes, welcome pack and bubbly in the fridge only added to our enjoyment. That's not to mention the huge cinema screen and wonderful hot tub. Perfect when your little angel has to be in bed by seven and you are limited to staying in! Chris popped in to see us on the first night and we found him to be very personable and only too keen to offer help and ensure we had everything we needed. I should also add that on booking Michelle contacted us to say not to worry about packing a travel cot and highchair as both were provided, giving us much needed space in the car. As for places to see, we found Whitstable, Broadstairs, Sandwich and Ramsgate all enjoyable, particularly Whitstable (I've never seen so many designer Charity shops!) and also went to Wildwood which is a lovely woodland trail home to some of Britains endangered species. We were fortunate with the weather so in between dips in the hot tub had a lovely BBQ in our private garden with views across the fields and also had a great Indian take away another night. They know the lodge well so I'm sure we're not the first! We also popped to the Royal Oak pub which is a few hundred yards down the road, very friendly staff and pool table and darts board. All in all I cannot commend Michelle and Chris enough on Honey Lodge and we will most definately be returning for another relaxing and fun-filled holiday.

We arrived late to find the thoughtfully stocked welcome basket, a bunch of flowers and a congrats card, all lovely touches and very much appreciated. Chris came and saw us at our convenience the next day and we saw him a few times throughout the week and found him extremely friendly and very helpful, quickly resolving any issues, tho these were just minor things like how to turn the heating on. We also couldn't find the plates as they were in the oven, in the plate holder, but maybe things like this could be in the guest info pack?!? Just to save guests having to call you guys!?! We found the information provided there about the local area very useful tho didn't go out a great deal as reluctant to leave the luxurious and relaxing environment of the lodge!!! The surroundings were perfect as was the lodge itself and we found you provided everything we needed for our stay, like a home from home,,, just wish it was home!! The hot tub was amazing and it was fantastic to relax in our own cinema on the most comfy sofa I've fallen asleep on!!! We will definately return, sharing our haven with family and friends in future tho as there is plenty of space for up to 8!!! Honey lodge gave us the perfect honeymoon location and such wonderful memories we will treasure always.
Thank you so much!!! -

The Honey Lodge is a beautiful, luxurious holiday home, which we have enjoyed for 2 wonderful weeks. It is spacious and has the comfort of a hotel because of the linnen and towels which are provided. On top of that, it has a well equipped, modern kitchen and a great hot tub on the veranda for relaxation after a day of tourist outings.
We also appreciated the garden with a large trampoline for the children, as well as the view of the field behind the Lodge. A visit from a peacock, a squirl and a rabbit proved the blending into nature of this holiday destination :-)
For many, the huge tv/dvd cinema screen will probably be an asset, although we hardly used it as we don't watch alot of tv or films. However, the Hot Tub was used daily, often even twice a day or more!!
So thank you very much, Michelle and Chris, you are wonderful people.

Had excellent time at the Lodge and Cottage. Children and adults loved the hot tubs. Managed to keep numerous children occupied all weekend with the hot tub allowing parents to relax. Tree house good fun but steps quite steep for small children under 4 and need to keep an eye on them.
Suggestions for children's activity to be constructed in the cottage garden maybe a big slide, padded plastic, will keep them occupied for ages (Had to rescue cover to the hot tub in Lodge garden from being used like this...
Lodge is beautiful inside and much more spacious than looks in photos. Good space to socialise in. Would definitely recommeend it for family occasion. -
