      Wonderful relaxing cozy anniversary!

Left on 03/06/2013 for a stay in February 2013

My husband and I rented arbor Den Log cabin to celebrate our 11th wedding anniversary (Feb. 16) We were there from Feb. 13-17. This house was great. Kitchen well stocked. Bathrooms large and plenty of space all around. Since there was just the two of us we didn't use the downstairs, but we went down there to see it and it was very nice. We are keeping this in mind for when we have family that comes with us. We have a 15 year old Miniature Schnauzer (Dusty) that we take everywhere with us, so it was nice that this place was pet friendly. We will definitely rent arbor Den again, and recommend it and Jenkins to others. My family,my Husband and myself have rented with Jenkins since 2000. Wish we could get to the hills more often!

A beautiful location and a lovely comfortable home.

Left on 01/03/2013 for a stay in December 2012

The people at Jenkins were very nice and helpful. The log cabin was just lovely inside with all the warm touches of home. The kitchen had all the tools we needed to cook several meals. We also enjoyed several restaurants in down town blowing rock and Boone. Our family loves to go hiking and there were so many great trails we could not get to them all. So we will be back to do this trip again.

Our experience was wonderful, relaxing and carefree!

Left on 05/10/2012 for a stay in May 2012

Location was great, home tucked in the woods, relaxing setting, very accomodating for a family of 5 but has room for 8, great home that included all dishes, utensiles, pots and pans and some things you may have forgotten to bring, just remember to replace them for the next person. Was a beautiful home!! Very memorable experience for a large group to gather as we got ready for a wedding!

      Great Vacation!

Left on 12/01/2011 for a stay in November 2011

Arbor Den was a great getaway cabin in the mountains. You feel like you're in the middle of nowhere, but take a two minute drive down the hill into town and you have all of the shops and grocery stores that you could want or need. We spent Thanksgiving there and even though the kitchen seemed a little small at first, we were able to cook a full Thanksgiving dinner for 7 people with no troubles. The cabinets are completely stocked with plenty of dishes, pots and pans and serving utensils, which was fantastic!

The only con I have is the garbage system. Everyday we had to drive our garbage to the rental office to dump it (there is no trash can and we were afraid a bear would get into it if we left it out in the open.) They did tell us that there was a closer drop location, but we couldn't find it from the map we were given.

All in all, it was a great vacation. We'll definitely come back and rent from Jenkins again!!

In the Mountains but close to Town

Left on 11/02/2011 for a stay in October 2011

Location was nice -- not as much in the mountains as I'd have liked (no great view) but close enough. Cabin was well furnished -- we didn't lack for anything we needed to cook. Great deck with nice table and chairs outside. Except for the lack of long range view, this may have been the best cabin we've stayed in. Comfortable. Clean. Very nice!

We had a fine time in the lovely aror Den.

Left on 10/20/2011 for a stay in October 2011

The cabin is beautiful and well-appointed; my grandsons especially adored the bears. I liked that so many staples (I forgot to pack salt and pepper, Pam, and dryer sheets, but they were all there!) were supplied. We spent most of our time outdoors, in downtown Blowing Rock, at the Tweetsie Railroad, and in Boone, but enjoyed returning to the cozy cabin. However, it was difficult to maneuver two vehicles in the driveway.

No problems. House was fine and service was fine. Had one minor problem and Mike was dispatched by Jenkins and he fixed it quickly. He is an excellent employee and you all our fortunate to have someone like him working for you.

Beautiful private cabin in the woods

Left on 07/15/2011 for a stay in July 2011

Huge, spotless well-stocked cabin with 3 bedrooms provided perfect privacy for 8 extended family members - except for hide-a-bed which was not comfortable except to put the mattress on the floor. Drawback was that heavy holiday traffic precluded us from using the short route to the cabin and the long route Jenkins gave us was found only by sheer luck at night. With only two cars we had to plan our day trips carefully. A beautiful cabin with much more than we needed to be comfortable.

      Lovely home for retreat

Left on 12/07/2010 for a stay in November 2010

Arbor Den was lovely and inviting and very comfortable for our family. There was space for everyone, and space to do different things. We were disappointed in the location, because we were accustomed to being on the actual app Ski Mtn.

      Relaxing

Left on 01/21/2010 for a stay in January 2010

We enjoyed the quiet road, snow, and cozy fire in the cabin over New Year's weekend. It was convenient to both Blowing Rock & Boone and we drove to Sugar Mtn for snowboarding twice. We did not have anyone in the basement but could see how that would be difficult to enjoy the fire for long hours without freezing people in the basement due to the thermostat being upstairs by the fire - but it was no problem for us. We would definitely stay at Arbor Den again.

      Clean, comfortable, and enjoyable!

Left on 07/22/2009 for a stay in June 2009

Our family of three spent a month at this wonderful house! It was very clean, tastefully decorated, and nestled in a mountain community. Being close to both Boone and Blowing Rock, we were able to enjoy many of the local activities. The highspeed internet access, dvd player, large basket of books, game closet, and TV with 100+ channels kept us entertained when we chose to relax at the cabin.

      Pleasant Surprise

Left on 01/27/2009 for a stay in January 2009

We did not originally rent this cabin, but due to some plumbing issues with the cabin we did rent, we ended up at Arbor Den. We were not sure where we'd end up, but were pleasantly surprised when we pulled up to the cabin. It is beautiful both inside and out. The cabin was inviting and very comfortable for a family of our size (9). The kitchen had everything you would need to cook or bake which made it very easy for us to feel at home. The views are great especially when it snows!
The only complaint would be that the lower level of the house gets very cold. The individual heaters in the rooms have to be on and the cabin thermostat upstairs has to be pretty high to keep it comfortable downstairs (but it will make it pretty warm upstairs). I would also recommend 4 wheel drive or snow chains for your tires if staying in the winter. The hills make it difficult to travel on when it snows.

Overall, the cabin was lovely and very cozy. Also, the realtor was able to find us this cabin very quickly after the first cabin did not work out, which we truly appreciated. It was a very pleasant stay for our family. Thank you!
