Enjoy the walk to Main Street, Blowing Rock from this quaint 2 bedroom, 1 bath cottage on Shady Lane. This one level house is located in a quiet neighborhood off of Morningside Drive, just a short distance from all the High Country activities. After you've hiked the Glen Burney Trail, had a wonderful lunch, and shopped our many boutiques, you can cozy up to the wood burning fireplace insert or watch a movie. Home has a mobile AC unit. Sleeps 4-5 with 1 queen, 1 double, and 1 twin rollaway. Antiques and ceiling fans in each room. Parking for 2-4. Pet friendly! Open June through November.

A friend and I stayed at Shady Lane for 3 days/2 nights. We came up to ride horses, and stroll around Blowing Rock. Shady Lane is superbly located. You could park your car and walk everywhere. It also was very cozy and quiet. I will definitely be bringing my husband back for a getaway. The funny thing is, the first night we had no heat and had gotten rained on while riding horses and we were chilled and the Heater didn't work. We built a fire in the stove, but we slept in our sweatpants and wished we had more covers. The next day I phoned the rentals to say we needed heat. When we got in from riding again there was no heat. The rental lady was very nice and came by to check things out. She offered to move us. But we cuddled up in the L.R., got more wood from a convenience story. I was settled in on the couch and my friend had made a make-shift bed with two chairs. The fire was roaring. at 10:00p.m. there was knock on the door and we were surprised, shocked and a little scared about who would be knocking at that hour. It was the heating people. They stayed until 11:00p.m. But got the heater running. We were so comfy in our makeshift camp in the living room that we cut the heat down and stayed there. It was something to laugh about and add to our stories. Ha.

This last minute rental was a charmer! So close to town, easy 5 minute walk, and cozy too. Beds were a little uncomfortable and furnishings not really our taste, not fancy by any means, but very good value so close to town. Anything you'd need here (except wireless). We would stay here again...

We so enjoyed the Shady Lane house. We were a little hesitant to take our 2 1/2 year old and stay in a hotel, so this was great! She had her own room, loved playing in all the leaves and it was so convienient to walk everwhere, especially the park. We will be back!

This was a very comfortable property that was convenient and easy to enjoy. Although the amenities were limited, we had everything we needed to stay the week.

Simple home with great location. It does not sleep 7 comfortably, but it does sleep two to four fairly comfortably. I stayed here with my wife and 1 year old son, and we had a lovely time.
