WarrensburgCharming Getaway
Left on 01/10/2013 for a stay in January 2013
The cottage certainly lived up to our expectations, based on the website photos. We enjoyed the hot tub and the fireplace. The kitchen was well stocked, the hot tub was relaxing, and everything was clean and well-kept. We were there for a girls getaway weekend, and a couple of our party expressed interest in booking the cabin for future events. If you are looking for a remote setting it certainly is that, but be aware that the Ozark mountain roads can be challenging.

We are glad you had a great time !
Regarding the roads, for potential new guests reviewing, we are right off the main highways in the Branson area, although our private road is gravel and just under a quarter mile in length. Certainly the Ozark Mts in general have some winding roads, albeit great views !
Hope to have you back soon !

Inverness, FLSecluded comfort at its best at Tall Tree Retreat
Left on 11/12/2012 for a stay in November 2012
This lovely cabin suited our needs perfectly. We wanted to be close to Branson yet not in the crowded busy atmosphere of a major attraction. Although we were not interested in the lake activities they are many and varied. The two bedrooms are nicely furnished and the bathrooms spacious and well appointed. There are steps up to the retreat which would make it a little difficult for seniors who had problems with stairs. It would be perfect for a family and when the weather is nice there is plenty to do outdoors. The owners are very easy to deal with and always available by phone. The kitchen is nicely equiped (we particularly liked the efficient toaster). There are good utensils and pots and pans in case you want to cook (which we didn't). We have stayed in cabins on visits to other areas for the last 5 or 6 years and this is by far the nicest. If and when we return to that area we would not stay anywhere else. If you have a group the Tall Tree Cottage is close by and several families could have a wonderful vacation.

The service we received for this trip was excellent. From the moment I sent an email of interest for this property, the Patterson's took every step possible for my family to have a great vacation. The house is in superb condition and exactly as advertised! There is not a thing that we did not like on this trip. Stay here if you are looking for a great place to relax and enjoy the Ozarks!

My husband and I wanted a Rest & Relax vacation and that's exactly what we got! The home is amazing! Very private and comfy! Being that close to the lake was wonderful! We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay in MO. We've already told our friends and family about it and can't wait until our next visit!

My husband and I stayed in the Tall Tree Retreat with our two children (ages 3 & 4 months) on our first trip to the area. The home was clean, spacious, and well decorated. The beds were especially comfortable, and the showers were nice. We took advantage of the fire pit and grill, although we did not get to use the hot tub because of the 100+ weather each day. We wish the house would have been closer to the lake and the lake area would have been a little less rocky. The location of the house was definitely remote with quite a narrow road leading to it. We were glad we had our four wheel drive vehicle. It was secluded though, and we even saw deer in the yard one morning.
The owners were helpful in making recommendations before our arrival. We recommend Ride the Ducks (Table Rock Lake) and Silver Dollar City.
Overall the place was great, and we would recommend it to others.Response from Derek and Jennifer Patterson - 08/24/2012

Glad to hear you had a great time at the Retreat. So happy to have your recommendation! Everyone needs to go to SDC, especially at Christmastime!
We feel we need to respond to a couple points so as not to scare other potential renters away from our homes! On our website we have posted many pictures (aerial and otherwise) of the area, the shoreline etc. It is approximately a 200 ft walk to the shoreline from the Retreat down the nature trail. The current shoreline is rocky, especially now that the drought has brought the lake levels down an additional 6 feet! The "narrow road" itself is a private, gravel driveway that leads to the homes. We have had renters with every kind of car out to the houses, and in no way is a 4X4 required. It is a gravel road that requires you to go slow and easy and a quarter mile in length. We just remind our potential renters to take a look at our direct website and feel free to call with any questions! -

We had a great stay at the Tall Tree Cottage. Great location right on the lake. We took advantage of the fire pit they have right next to the water. Beds were really comfortable. Place was well stocked. Lots of room for our crazy two year old to roam. Quick drive to State Park Marina and Branson. We plan to come back again someday.

This is a very nice lake home, fully equipped with comfortable beds, bathrooms and lovely kitchen. The lake road is quite steep, we were glad we had our 4 x 4 vehicle.

Thanks for your nice review! Glad you had a great trip and enjoyed the home on the lake.
We wanted to respond to this so others reading it will not think a 4X4 is required to get to either of our homes. There are parts of the road that are steep leading out of the neighborhood, however there is a paved road that allows you to circle around and avoid the steepest part of the road (listed in our driving directions). None of our vehicles are 4X4 and there is never an issue....except for when the few times when there is considerable snow on the ground. -

Left on 05/12/2012 for a stay in May 2012
The reason for our stay - Three best friends getting together for our annual girls get-away. The cottage was perfect. We floated and tanned on the lake, We thoroughly enjoyed the hot-tub and the location was perfect for long morning walks. We were very impressed with how well the cottage was stocked with supplies and extras. During our week we prepared some of our meals at the cottage and we also took avantage of dinners and shows in Branson. We had plenty of options for shopping. As far as cleanliness, and comfortability we rated the cottage a 10. (1 being the lowest 10 the highest). On the evenings we chose to stay in, we were entertained with the games provided at the cabin. The cost was very reasonable and we would definitely return. We highly recommend this cottage for anyone wanting it all. Thank you, we had a wonderful time.

This is the second time we have stayed at this beautiful cottage. The setting is perfect...woods all around with just enough yard for the boys to play in. The proximity to the lake is wonderful, and we love spending time in the hot tub while watching the sun go down over the water. (The boys love the fact that there are outside speakers to enjoy their favorite tunes. So much for the peace and quiet!) Our favorite, though, has to be starting a fire each evening and making s'mores at either of the two fire pits. The accommodations are extremely comfortable, and Derek and Jennifer have pretty much thought of everything you may need during your stay. Thank you so much for sharing your lovely home!

We enjoyed staying at The Cottage Retreat, it was just 20 minutes from all the shpping and shows but private and secluded. The cottage was well equipped and so cozy it was truly a home away from home. We have traveled to Branson for Thanksgiving Vacation for several years now and this is by far the best place we have ever stayed at!! Thank you Derek and Jennifer for allowing us to stay at your lovely cottage, we look forward to coming back again in the future.

We really enjoyed our time at this lakefront home near Branson, MO. We had 6 people in the house and were very comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook with and the kids loved the hot tub even though it was cold outside. We found the the home's location wasn't a problem and it was nice to have a place that was quiet. Would love to come back soon!

We wanted to get away for my husband and my dad's birthday. We rented this wonderful house and were so glad we did. It is away from the hustle and so relaxing just to have morning coffee on the back deck. We will be return customers for sure. Derek and Jennifer Patterson are professionals and yet down home people. The house was very up to date and cozy. I will recommend to everyone.

Left on 12/02/2011 for a stay in November 2010
We stayed at the cabin (if you can call a fully equipped, beautiful home that has everything) a cabin for our annual girls trip. It is a little far from things, but truthfully that was part of the appeal. When you left to go somewhere you left with intention so when you came back you were ready to unwind and relax. The view from the hot tub/back deck was beautiful. Renting from the Pattersons was easy and should we decide to go in Missouri again, we would certainly see if the cabin was available. Linda
