Run About Trout Lodge was designed and constructed by a top Atlanta builder and has quality finishing's throughout. The large designer kitchen has granite counters, stainless appliances, ten foot ceilings and breakfast bar. Features include a true dining room with large table, large vaulted great room with gorgeous floor to ceiling rock wood burning fireplace and SAT TV, powder room, and large first floor master bedroom with king size bed, SAT TV, French doors that open to a view of the Toccoa River, outdoor wood burning fireplace, and private hot tub which sets under a covered deck. The elegant master bath boasts designer cabinetry, jetted t...ub and lovely tiled separate shower. Upstairs you will find two oversized bedrooms, one with queen size bed and the other with two twin beds. The second bathroom has a jetted tub as well. The lower level has a game room with fireplace, SAT TV, pool/air hockey table, board games, and a futon for additional sleeping. This cabin has 130 feet of frontage on the Toccoa River. This section of the river is some of the best trout fishing in the area, and is stocked weekly with Rainbow and Brown Trout. Located beside the river you will find a pavilion with grill and table. You will also enjoy the view of "The Blue Ridge Scenic Railway" as it runs behind the cabin! Run About Trout Lodge is secluded, conveniently located between Blue Ridge and McCaysville, and is the perfect romantic getaway, fishing retreat, or the perfect place to spend some quality time with friends and family. Nearby attractions include hiking the beautiful trails of North Georgia, biking, Antique Shopping, White Water Rafting, Horseback Riding, Scenic Train Rides and the famous Swan Drive In. All of our cabins include linens, dishes, pots, pans, towels, washcloths, etc... We will provide an initial supply of guest soaps, toilet paper, dishwasher detergent, paper towels and trash bags. We suggest that you bring your supplies for an extended stay of paper towels, trash bags, charcoal, and washing powders.

  Cabin is nice, but...

  The cabin is nice enough, but there are a few reasons I would not select this cabin again for future stays. First, the river is some distance from the cabin and is down a steep hill to get there. I feel the pictures are a little misleading and it is not very convenience for young children and I would imagine anyone that is elderly. Also, once you reach the river, the access is difficult as there is a steep drop off to get down to the river. A dock on the river would be helpful (as many of the other cabins seem to have and now I know why). Second, the floor of the master shower was fairly dirty and looked as they it needed a thorough cleaning, as well as the tub in the second bathroom. Finally, we experienced pests problems from the moment we arrived. There were wasps (5 as soon as we arrived) and more showed up each day inside of the cabin. On the second day, we there were ants that showed up in the master bathroom and the kitchen. We ended up leaving a day early primarly due to the ant issue, as we just couldn't eat in the kitchen and were disgusted by it.

  Pretty cabin but not as advertised

  Let's start with the obvious:
  
  1. This cabin is not located in Blue Ridge but you don't find that out until you have drive 15 minutes Northwest of Blue Ridge but by the time you get there you've already paid to stay there and you can't get your money back.
  
  2. Located on the Toccoa River? Nice try. The pictures lie. The cabin is probably 300 feet from the river and one of our personal favorites...
  
  3. You have to cross an active railroad track to get there! That's after you have walked
  down a step, washed out hill.
  
  We did enjoy the hot tub but decided the town so far away it was easier to cook ourselves. We will not be returning to Runabout Trout.

  First, we would like to thank you for the opportunity to accomodate your party. Runabout Trout is in Blue Ridge, GA. It is not in downtown, but on the outskirts of town. It is clearly stated on our website that this property is conveniently located between Blue Ridge and McCaysville, GA. It is within 15 minutes of downtown. Runabout Trout Lodge is a Toccoa River property. It boasts 130 feet of frontage. The pictures on our website are actual pictures of the cabin and its land. We have since added a few more details to our description to address your concerns. Additionally, there is a railroad track on the property that hosts the Blue Ridge Scenic Railroad. However, the track is NOT active this time of year. The train does not start their season until March 12, 2012.
