Stockton, CAAbsolutely beautiful, comfortable home with gorgeous view
Left on 09/17/2012 for a stay in September 2012
Captain's Lookout was a beautiful home with gorgeous views of Bodega Bay. We wouldn't change a thing about the home. The floor plan was great with views of the bay from the kitchen/dining room and one bedroom. The kitchen was well stocked. The furniture was very comfortable and all the beds were great. We loved everything about the house and would definitely stay there again. The location was convenient and easy to find.
The service we received from Bodega Bay & Beyond was excellent. -

Left on 05/30/2012 for a stay in May 2012
We stayed three days in this wonderful home. Rental and directions to house were easier accomplished. The pictures provided online were as advertised. The views overlooking the water at Bodega Bay were better than we anticipated. The house was well furnished and clean. Free internet was provided and we got a discount for staying three days during the week. Great places to eat, Terrapin Creek and Spud, were within walking distance. The only things I would improve would be an upgrade of the hot tub and easier access to the bathroom for the second bathroom. Bodega Bay and Beyond which manages the rental was thorough and was avaialble for any of our needs. I would definately try to find a reason to visit Bodega Bay again and rent this or another property in the future.

We enjoyed our stay in this well kept home with beautiful views of the Bay. We arrived on a Friday night and the lights and heat were already on in the home. The kitchen is really well equipped with a six burner gas Wolf Viking stove and lots of pots pans and knives all in very good condition. My husband commented that the coffee grinder was better than the one that we have at home. The only thing that I would recommend is a bigger and newer hot tub.

Castro Valley, CALovely!

The house is very well equipped, clean, and comfortable. Spectacular view and great location.
For winter stays, I think a few throw pillows and several lap size blankets/throws would be a really good addition. I think a larger hot tub would be nice. -

Our third stay at the Captains Lookout and another very pleasurable vacation. Really liked the new poster art of the movie the Birds. The spa needs attention or replacement, it never reached temperature for use.

Left on 10/30/2010 for a stay in October 2010
First thing that strikes you when you enter this home is the view. Large picture windows in the living room/dining area overlooking the entire bay, made a great place to gather to enjoy catching up with good friends while enjoying the view. The kitchen is well equipped making bringing extra things from home, such as good knives, unnecessary. All the amenities makes this home as comfortable as your own home (maybe even better), it does not feel like a rental. Bodega Bay and Beyond took steps to make the home welcoming, such as having the hot tub heated and opening the window coverings so you enjoy the view immediately.

Nevada City,CAA great Ca Coast experience for family members from FL
Left on 10/29/2010 for a stay in October 2010
Our son and daughter in law traveled from Florida so that my son and I could spend our birthdays together.
My husband and I live in Nevada City and went to San Fran cisco for one night before driving up the coast to Captain's Lookout.
We were delighted with the home and decor.
Everything was clean and welcoming and the view is spectacular.
Plenty of room for four adults to spread out and have fun. Checking in and out was easy and staff very pleasant.
Thanks for a great Birhtday get away!

Mesa, AZGreat Place, But Please Make Outdoors User Friendly
Left on 08/10/2010 for a stay in July 2010
My wife and I, together with another couple spent 7 nights at Captain's Lookout. The home was comfortable, clean and had a view that should be on a postcard. However, there was not a single comfortable chair to sit on outside. A single, plastic chair and 6 kitchen chairs ruined any desire to sit and enjoy the outside. We also had the fireplace go out on the 5th day and this was the only source of heat for the living area. A repairman was sent promptly, but the repair lasted only 10 minutes. We still had a wonderful time and would recommend it to our friends. Thank You

Another great experience at the Captain's Lookout
Sacramento, CAFeelings like coming home and to enjoy the ocean and beaches.
Left on 08/09/2010 for a stay in July 2010
This is our second stay at the "Captain's Lookout" and it feels more like home every time we arrive. The accomodations and location are excellent. We even spotted whales at the beach at the Bodega Headlands before check-in. The condition layout of the "Lookout" is outstanding. The only problem was the gas fireplace that is not operating and we are sorry to hear that the spa will be removed. This is a mistake, I think it should stay or be replaced if there is a problem. It would be very unfortunate not to include a spa as part of the Captain's Lookout" and it could result in a reductions in future bookings. Please reconsider. I would also consider offering a discount for addition unplanned night stays in the home is available. We would gladly stay one more night or more with a small discount if the home is planned to be vacant. Overall, this is a great house that offers a great experience for exploring the ocean and coast.

Foothills, CaBetter than expected
Left on 03/15/2010 for a stay in March 2010
All I can say is that I was very impressed, and we had an incredible stay there. With the exception of one thing, everything was better than expected. The bed was very comfortable, it was spotless when we arrived, the kitchen was better stocked than my kitchen at home, and the view, neighborhood, and everything incredible. The only thing we found was on arrival, the hot tub was not as hot as we liked, so we had to forgo the first night relaxing in it, but by the next day after turning it up, it was just right when set on the highest setting.

we stayed at this beautyful house for one week. It was such a great experience. The view, the house, the location. We enjoyed every day no matter if there was the morning fog or sunny weather. We had a great time there and we will definitely come back. Thanks to Peggy and the whole team.

We used your rental service to stay in "The Captain's Lookout" in order to attend a family wedding. The house was impeccably clean. How wonderful it was to enjoy breakfast ( on a sunny morning, no less) overlooking the bay. We ended our evening in the hot tub gazing at the lights of the harbor. We would do this again in an instant.

Los Angeles, CaliforniaGreat location with an awesome view
Left on 07/31/2009 for a stay in July 2009
This is the second year in a row we stayed at Captain's Lookout. The house
is beautiful, well-kept, private, cozy, and has a great kitchen. Moreover, the
view is awesome! There are two things that I feel could have been better on
our last visit. First, the hot tub is rather small and feels/looks like a cheap
tub. In addition, the water did not get hot until our fourth day at the house
and the jets did not work properly until the spa lady stopped by on the
second to last day of our stay! We were all very disappointed. Second, there
was a family of raccoons who made the basement their home! They were
very loud throughout the night. I did report both issues to the Bodega Bay
and Beyond office and both matters were handled promptly. Specifically, the
spa lady called me right away but all she told me was to turn the
temperature up and that it would warm up 1 degree per hour! Anyway, the
hot tub did not work properly until our last day. The maintenance guy came
out the same day and set a trap for the raccoons. It seemed to work that
night but they were at it again the next night.
To be fair the response to my concerns was prompt but unfortunately the
issues were not resolved. I feel that for $2,000/week I should've had a
working hot tub and uninterrupted sleep from Day 1. Nonetheless, I love
Bodega Bay, Captain's Lookout, and the staff at Bodega Bay and Beyond. i
hope these minor issues can be rectified in the future. I would definitely
stay here again. One suggestion: lawn chairs on the deck would be
awesome!!! -
