Fremont, CACoastal Retreat Renter
Left on 05/17/2012 for a stay in May 2012
Very nice home in a peaceful location. Nicely separated from neighbors. We were there in mid-May and barely saw any other people in the neighborhood, or passing cars. A little too far from the ocean to hear the waves, except if you listen real close late at night, but you also don't hear the traffic from the highway. Portuguese and Schoolhouse beaches are a short stroll away. Furniture and beds were comfortable and in good shape. Kitchen was modern and well-stocked. Everything was clean, except as noted below. We had one complaint and a few annoyances about the house. Complaint is that the windows facing the ocean were very dirty. Twenty minutes with a squeegee would have made a huge improvement in our enjoyment of the house. There were a few annoyances, as well. A few of the windows had broken or stuck mechanisms, preventing us from opening them. Other windows were missing screens, which discouraged us from opening them. There is a nice VCR library, but the VCR was on the fritz (Rats! We really wanted to watch The Birds!). The DVD library and player were fine, though. Nice selection of reading material, but the games were a little old. The glass on the fireplace gets incredibly hot, but luckily it is raised off the ground enough that our little guy couldn't quite touch it. If your kids are about 32 inches or taller, be careful. No cell service in the area, and the router was a little weak if we strayed very far from the living room. If you close the laundry room pocket door, it gets stuck and you have to spend a couple minutes prying it open again with your fingernails. We were a little disappointed with the small CRT TVs. In summary, if the windows were clean and functional, there was a 42" or larger LCD TV in the living room, and the price remained the same, this would be a solid 4.75 star property.

Hands down, one of the best houses I've rented from Bodega Bay & Beyond! Extremely clean, tons of space, modern, and an excellent outdoor space and view! Loved that there were so many windows and the fact that the kitchen was in the center of the home. Customer service is a+ as usual.

What a great little house. Two separate bedrooms and bathrooms connected via the well stocked kitchen provides great privacy for two couples. Hot tub outside of of the non-ocean view room on a little private fenced patio. Beautiful ocean views from the living area/dining area/master bedroom. House is unbelievably clean and fresh, especially when considering they allow pets. Internet worked perfectly, as did the cable television. Our two dogs were very happy hanging out on the front cement patio which flanks the front of the house that looks over the ocean. A small rock garden/nicely planted area provided them with plenty of entertainment and us with privacy from the downhill neighbors. The Kortum trail head is only 2 miles north on Hwy 1, and this ~5 mile trail each way provides a great morning run/hike along the coast and past a few beaches. Don't miss Blind Beach at the end of the road at the end of the trial. This is a beautiful beach. Overall, I call this a 5 star house. Rent it if you want a quiet place to hang for a few days.

We had a wonderful time, and the house was just perfect for all of us. The hottub was very hot and clean. The beds were very comfortable. The kitchen was huge and had most everything we needed. Thank you for the service you provide. We will be back again, to rent another home. Never the same one twice. ;o)

The house has a great view and is an easy walk to the beach. The beds are comfortable, and it was wonderful to end the days with a soak in the spa. The kitchen lacked a few items that we thought were basic, but we were able to improvise

I rented houses many times before by the golf course and enjoyed that I could walk to the beach or around the neighbor hood.
this place was nice, new, too expensive to what it offered, including the little hot tub. -

This is a wonderful home surrounded by peace and quiet just a few miles north of Bodega Bay. The only neighbors we had were a pack of deer that were grazing in the field below. Inside, the home is modern and cozy. It's an ideal spot to get away from it all for the weekend.

We loved the view from the master bedroom in the morning when we woke up. The kitchen was excellent and loved having the washer and dryer. Our other favorite thing was the fireplace that you could just flip the switch and have instant warmth. The only thing we had trouble with was that the french doors off the living room were hard to figure out how to lock and the frig was leaking at the base. Both were reported to the BB and B. The directions and emails that preceded our stay were well thought out and professionally handled. This was a fantastic place to stay. We hope to be back next year and stay at the same place.

Coastal Retreat was the perfect place to get away and yet be close to
activities and local communities.
This is the second time my spouse and I stayed at Coastal Retreat. It is at
an ideal location; peaceful and quiet. We took morning walks in the neighborhood and down to the beach, took short drives into Duncan's Mills
for the best coffee and pastries at Gold Coast Cafe, and an awesome hike at
Armstrong Redwoods.
The house was clean and had modern furnishings. The jacuzzi is a bit
small; good for two and not much else. Fresh air is hard to come by without
the accompaniment of bugs (lack of window screens). The house comes
with an electric stove that couldn't maintain consistent heat. So if you are
someone who enjoys cooking, this stove may give a bit of a challenge. But
if you have a drink while prepping your meal and it should all be good!
Outside of these small miffs, it is our favorite house by far. -

I have staying in vacation rental homes in Bodega Bay for the last 11 years.
I loved the location of this home. Just outside Bodega Bay, but close enough to run in and get the morning paper!
I cooked a lot while I was there and the appliances were great and the kitchen was very functional.
This was truly one of my most relaxing stays, and my new favorite home! -

This is the second time we stayed at Coastal Retreat. It's a nice size house for 2 couples
and our dogs. It's a great location and we
like the lay out of the house. It's real
roomy and we like how the 2 bedrooms are
separated; they are
at different ends of the house.
Great ocean views and lots of open space. -

Left on 04/25/2009 for a stay in April 2009
We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend at Coastal Retreat. The big, open space in the house with all the windows facing the ocean was spectacular!
We had 2 kids with us and 4 adults, and it was very comfortable and easy to manage everyone in this space. It was close enough to the beaches and town, but it was not walking distance to the beach with small children. The only slight disappointment was that the grill was a charcoal grill instead of gas.
We would definitely recommend this house to others! -

My parents stayed at Coastal Retreat last August and have used
Bodega Bay and Beyond for years. After an unsavory experience with
another rental company in the area, my mom recommended that we
try BB&B. Everything has been wonderful. The house was just as
pictured and SPOTLESS.
We have absolutely no complaints whatsoever, maybe just that we
were sad to only be able to stay three nights.
