The house was in a perfect location and the had a fresh, updated feel. The gated backyard was a pleasant surprise since we had our dog. It is lovely of them to allow animal family members. The house was comfortable for my disabled husband while I was able to just hop across the street and enjoy beach time of my own. Thank you so much for sharing your home with us!

Beautiful ocean views out the bay window makes Coastal Sunset a great place to relax, whether it's raining or sunny. Storms coming onshore make for great surf, and when the sun shines, you can't believe how gorgeous the view is. We had everything we needed for the three of us (and our puppy) to enjoy a very relaxing break from work.

Thank you to Bodega Bay & Beyond, they were very sincere, caring, and efficient during the rental process. We had a great long weekend at Coastal Sunset, and enjoyed the lovely beach charm of the rental, as well as the great access to the beach just literally steps away. Our dog felt comfortable here, and we spent several evenings in front of the fireplace watching the waves... It was a very restful and restoring trip! The rental was fully stocked, bathroom and kitchen very up to date and beautifully done. we will definitely be back! Thanks again!!

perfect place to recharge: breakfast with the rolling ocean just outside on my right , a warming fire to my left, dog curled at my feet-- what more could one want!. Having a fencing in back yard was helpful. Loved waking up, and weeing the ocean right there. The photos do not do it justice!

Concord, CAFantastic!!
Left on 01/03/2012 for a stay in December 2011
My husband and I stayed here over New Years with our two dogs and what a way to bring in the New Year, the views are phenomenal from this house! It's perfect for having the dogs with us. They loved to people watch through the front window and bark at other dogs across the street going to the beach. It was very clean and bright, the king bed was so comfortable! Very relaxing! The kitchen is well equipped, although could use a couple new non-stick pans, they were a little too scraped up for me to feel comfortable cooking in, but there are stainless pans that worked just fine. Some steak knives would also be handy. The fireplace was great, thanks for the logs!
It's just up the road from Bodega Bay proper, a quick five minute drive, very convenient.
Not a drawback, just a note that the only door to the back yard is in the queen bedroom, so you have to go through that bedroom to go out back unless you walk around the front to the gate on the side of the house. If it were two couples with dogs, you'd have to go through one couple's bedroom to let the dogs out back. Or the couple with the dog(s) has to sleep in the queen bedroom if you have early morning risers like ours. The yard is really cute and fenced so no worry about letting the dogs sniff around, etc.
We had a lovely weekend away and would stay here again in a heartbeat. Really, you can't get over the views from the front of the house.

This place was great. I was afraid Carmet would feel miles away from Bodega, but it really didn't. Very clean and comfortable. Stunning view! The bathroom is "compartmentalized" which makes sharing one bathroom much easier. Looking forward to going back.

The view from the living room was stupendous! Watching the sunset and breathing clean salt air. -

This was our second visit to this home. We love the location. It has an amazing view of the coast both north and south and you can hear the waves from the bedroom when the window is open. There is only one bathroom but the way it is arranged made it very accomendating for two couples.

Nice 3 days away from everything. Very peaceful and serene. Great view as I am sure you figured out by the review title. The house is great. The bedrooms are both very spacious. You could sleep the whole vacation away, since it is so quiet. Yes the house is next to HWY 1, but you hear it and the noise doesn't bother you. Plus the bedrooms are in the back of the house. There is a fenced in garden area in the back. The kitchen and the dining area is in the front of the house and the living room is between the kitchen and bedroom area. The kitchen is well supplied but it could use some ceramic dishes to cook roasts, casseroles or even a turkey if folks would like to visit around the holidays. Thanks for the coffee. I would to suggest that the housekeeping folks turn on the cable or satalite program the day people check in. The cable or satalite is hard turn on if you are not familar with it. I was able to figure it out. I enjoyed the short and relaxing break.

We've been driving by this row of "salt boxes" at Carmet Beach for years, and always assumed that they would be cramped and noisy. Boy, were we wrong. This was a beautiful and comfortable home, but most surprising was the simple beauty of the ocean view - spectacular! Also surprisingly quiet considering the location. Very dog friendly with a large fenced backyard. The only reason it didn't get 5 stars was that it doesn't have a spa, which I hope they install at some point. Overall a great place and we'll be back.

We've stayed at other BB&B; properties, and tried "Coastal Sunset" as a change of pace. We definitely enjoyed the house. The views of the ocean & surrounding countryside are gorgeous!
This home also has central heating, which came in very handy, as our stay occurred during a time when temperatures were dropping below freezing. The home is very spacious, and has obviously been upgraded with new appliances. We would highly recommend "Coastal Sunset"! -

Vallejo, CAWhat a beautiful view!
Left on 01/24/2011 for a stay in January 2011
This home is located directly off Highway 1, so we expected a bit of noise during our stay. Surprisingly, even though this was a holiday weekend, the only sounds (other than the wonderful waves crashing!) that were obvious were those of the few motorcycles that passed by. This home was very clean with comfortable beds and plenty of hot water for relaxing showers. Because of the layout of the house, the listed "limit of 5 people" would have difficulty watching TV comfortably at the same time, as there is really only space/seating for 3 at one time. Also due to the layout, the view windows are all across the front of the house (beautiful view!), which allows sunset gazing only from the dining room or kitchen, neither of which is where the "comfy" seating is located. I stayed there with 1 adult friend, however, so these drawbacks were only noted by us and did not dampen our enjoyment of this home. I would rent Coastal Sunset again!

Very clean and most comfortlable. Even the thermostat worked and was easy to understand, It appears the owners have done an excellent job, since all the appliances, wiring, etc appeared to be new. The view was beautiful, especially through the comvenient bay window. For those of us who are not to savvy, some easy iinstructioms for the operation of the TVs with comcast would be helpful, since there were no instructions that we could find. The front and back yards both need some attention! We had a wonderful time!

Particularly the dog friendly beaches since we brought our dog along with us. We found the house to be very comfortable and well stocked. This will definately be a house we will rent again. We absolutely enjoyed our week's stay here. Each bedroom is nestled into the backyard view, while the front dining area allowed for us to pamper ourselves with an ocean view during every minute of the day. The kitchen is beautifully decorated in grey/green granite and white cabinets which give a cool calm to the ambiance. I especially enjoyed walking across the street with a cup of delicious Bodega Bay & Beyond coffee to enjoy Carmet beach. The evenings were enjoyed by sitting by the fire or watching a film on DVD (which you can rent by a friendly nearby store in Bodega) while watching the moon light the ocean at the same time. Thank you for such a relaxing time!

We were very lucky to have a warm and clear 3 days over Memorial Day weekend. This coast is spectacular and the house location ideal - across from the beach. The enclosed back yard made it great for our dogs also. I think the pictures you have on file for this cottage do not do it justice, and we nearly missed a great spot in favor of another that looked nicer. We have some super pictures if you would like us to send them. We will definitely visit again, it was very homey, clean and comfortable.

We enjoyed the view and the easy access to the beach. The house had all the things we needed. However, we had terrible ants in everything! Including our suitcases. I didn't get any assistance with this when I told the management. Also, we could never figure out how to use the VHS and the management was no help with this either.

Overall, I really enjoyed my stay. The views of the coastline are awesome, better then depicted on the web site. The home is small but cozy and nicely furnished. The kitchen was well stocked with cooking utensils and the free coffee beans were a nice touch. I was disappointed in two things. I was told I would have WIFI, but it never worked during my two week stay, even though I reported it immediately. Fortunately I brought my own ethernet cable so I was able to access the Internet that way. Also, the main family room tv did not have cable access. The DVD player did work and the cable worked in the bedrooms. I guess that was a Comcast problem but even though I reported the issue on my first day, I was never contacted about if or when it would be fixed. There was also a bit of an ant invasion issue, maybe due to all the recent rain, but I discovered there were several cans of Raid stashed around the place so I had something to fight them off with.

We're glad that you enjoyed your stay, and are sorry that the cable TV and internet were not operating properly during your stay. Left on 01/10/2010 for a stay in December 2009
The Bodega Bay and Beyond folks made this vacation easy. The house is very comfortable and well equipped with efforts made to make the renter feel like someone cares about their overall experience. The location is super from a beach lover's perspective but even more wonderful is the view. No matter the weather, a great north-coast experience is possible watching the waves crash and hearing the roar while enjoying warm dry conditions indoors with food, drink, and games at the dining table in the large front windows. A bonus for us is we did it all with our doggy companions! Thank you for making our WHOLE family welcome!
Our only complaint is the lack of a vacuum cleaner or at least a good broom so that we could clean up sand and little rocks after long walks with our four-footed friends. Rugs or mats inside the exterior doors would help a lot. -

A well furnished home away from home. The rooms were comfortable and relaxing. Each of our family of four enjoyed the scenery, the wildlife, quiet walks in the morning.
The fog in the morning is amazing and great for those late morning risers, yet the afternoon sun is incredible.
As for the temps, surprising that less than four miles away it is in the high 80s and 90's yet on the beach high 60's....great for an escape from the heat!
perfect for those winery visits and seeing the redwoods.
if ever to return to california we will be sure to vacation again with you at Bodega and Beyond!

The house is very pleasant and cozy. The view is beautiful. The only problem we had was a smell that was there the first two days. It seemed to disipate after that but maybe we were the first renters of the season? Also there were stairs that we were not expecting. We have a toddler so that was a challenge we were not prepared for. I'm not sure if it is mentioned in the description and I just missed it, or maybe it needs to be added. Other than that it was a wonderful getaway.

The location and the view from the house were unbelievable - what a beautiful place...close to town and great beaches. House was very nice and great for 2 couples to share for a few days. Thank you for the coffee. Some issues...we could smell propane when we arrived at the house - there seemed to be a small leak from the stove - it was OK when the windows were opened but when closed you could smell it (reported it when we dropped off the key) - was disappointed that we couldn't sit in the back yard and enjoy the firepit or to BBQ due to high weeds etc. - chairs not usable - we were not able to open some of the cabinets in the house - ex. kitchen / bathrooom - (no wood for fireplace) - overall though we had a wonderful time - great place - would love to go back another time.

Left on 05/26/2009 for a stay in May 2009
This was our first time to Bodega Bay and one of the few vacations I have been on being a single parent. The house was in a great location, literally across the street from Carmet Beach. And within walking distance of several other beaches. The view was phenominal a little noisy with the traffic but not enough to be bothersome.
We went on a hike in Bodega Head where we saw several seals and maybe even a whale (we weren't quite sure) Spent the day at Blind Beach and visited various other beaches near by and attempted to fly a kite (it's harder than it looks). :-)
We had a few minor issues with the home but overall the vacation was great and the location was perfect. My girls loved it. -
