Modesto, CAFun with friends
Left on 03/02/2012 for a stay in February 2012
We had a good weekend and lovely weather. The house was comfortable and was chosen because it had three full sized beds for 3 couples. The livingroom furniture was not the most comfortable but we enjoyed the sunshine and beauty from the windows. The master bedroom fireplace set off the smoke detector both times it was lit, we had to open windows to get the smoke out of the house. The kitchen was well stocked and easy to cook in and the table was very easy to seat all.

It had been 5 years since I had last stayed at the HH, the kitchen remodel was awesome and so great to cook great meals from. The house was comfortable and appropriate for the couple and friend that joined us. Due to HH being a dog friendly house, we were able to bring our dogs who loved their visits to the nearby beach. We were well accomodated by the amenities of the house and managagement of BBB.

Galt, CAA wonderful week
Left on 10/10/2011 for a stay in September 2011
We planned this vacation at the last minute, we really lucked out, the house was one of the only ones left that was dog friendly. We wanted to be on the ocean, but we had two nice views and it was in walking distance for the young people. We had sunshine for the most of the week. The master bedroom large enough for the older people to rest.

This house has a great location (quiet in a culdesac), a good walk to the clubhouse and trail to beach, light and airy interior, and well-equipped kitchen. The description doesn't feature the fenced-in pet yard with lawn which is a real plus. Only need for improvement is that the bed mattresses are very firm/hard.

Santa Rosa, CAFun with friends and babies
Left on 08/24/2011 for a stay in August 2011
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Hummingbird Hideout. We had two babies around one year old walking (stumbling) and crawling around the house. It was pretty baby friendly except for a huge DVD and VHS collection that was at baby level and open. That was a slight challenge. Also, the beautiful high ceilings and tile floor in the kitchen and hallway made it very difficult for babies to nap while others were in the house. The hot tub was wonderful, very clean and comfortable for up to four people. The living room has a view of the ocean when the fog clears. It was clear off and on for our stay. The beach was a short walk even when holding a 20lb baby, though there are no sidewalks in the neighborhood. It is a very peaceful neighborhood. Also, this is a big one, it is a pet friendly house but there were no stains or smells, it was very clean!! The non-master bathroom was a little old-looking, could use an update, though it was clean.
My only real complaint was the seating in the living room. There was only one couch and one comfortable chair and two wooden chairs (uncomfortable). I think a three bedroom house requires two couches for comfort sake. Also, the beautiful and spacious kitchen was very disorganized and missing anything like a salad or mixing bowl. It was very well stocked with other necessities, however.
We had a very fun and peaceful stay and would use this agency again. They were always available via phone or email.Very helpful with our questions and needs. Clean up was minimal (practically nothing). They made everything very easy!
I would stay at this house again if they got another couch, apparently that is a deal breaker for me. -

Left on 07/17/2011 for a stay in June 2011
We thoroughly loved our week at Hummingbird Hideout! It is a beautiful and comfortable home, just the perfect amount of room for our family with two teenage girls. Room to play games, watch movies, enjoy meal prep and dinners together and comfy space to sneak away to your room to read a book or take a dip in the spa. We loved our stay and can't wait to return to Hummingbird Hideout :)

This house was perfect in everyway. Location and size and all the added extras. Finding coffee beans and filters and a grinder was the touch of perfection. We used the hot tub for all three nights. The stars are totally amazing here I can't think of one thing that would have made our stay better. It was truly perfect.

Left on 03/08/2011 for a stay in February 2011
Overall, this house was excellent. We originally booked another house, but the rental company had to switch us last minute to the Hummingbird. The house is very spacious and clean, the kitchen and entertainment center were big pluses. Very well stocked! One complaint is the hot tub, which was a major selling point for me. First of all, it didn't really get that hot (we had covered and it cranked up all the way for several house and it never got above 98), and it had a ton of chlorine in it. The chlorine was incredibly overwhelming, and probably not very safe. The other complaints are about the master bathroom, it was advertised as having a jacuzzi tub, but it seemed that the tub was broken. Although we were slightly disappointed by the hot tub and jacuzzi tub, overall we had a wonderful time.

Fairfield, CAAn enjoyable weekend was had by all!
Left on 03/03/2011 for a stay in February 2011
The Hummingbird Hideout had a great floorplan: a large and open kitchen, open living room area and a single story level so that our children were close by. The proximity of the home to the beach was close enough for walking distance. We enjoyed our stay very much! Thank you BBB!

Older parents had trouble getting out of living room furniture. Master bedroom smelled of dogs, but we sprayed and aired out the room. Otherwise we loved it and can't wait to return. Have stayed in other places in Bodega and this was our favorite!!

Left on 09/09/2010 for a stay in August 2010
The accommodations were great. Lots of towels and bedding. Perhaps an automatic can opener would have been nice in the kitchen, but the stay was wonderful. We visited the beach at least twice a day and came back to a very clean spa and shower. May need a new barbeque. The fenced yard was great for the dogs. Loved the fireplace in the master bedroom. The layout of the house was great. Fire wood was great to have.

SacramentoBeautiful Sunny Weekend in Bodega Bay
Left on 08/30/2010 for a stay in August 2010
Hummingbird Hideout is located in a quiet court in the South Harbor. Great walking, close to the beach, and it has a nice front patio to sit and enjoy the sunny weather.
However, upon arrival we noticed a heavy mildew smell, primarily in the Master Bedroom. We found that we needed to hand wash all the silverware, glasses and dishes we were ging to use due to a heavy chalky residue from the dishwasher. Several pots, pans and cooking untinsils also had food particles left on them so they needed washing as well. The house sleeps 6 comfortably in bedrooms and can sleep 8 using the sofa pull out in the living room. The dining table is great and can seat up to 12! However, for the amount of people the house sleeps, the living room with it's big screen TV does not seat 6 comfortably. The best part was the remodeled Kitchen and the dog run!
I do not think we would rent Hummingbird Hideout again as there are many other homes that meet the accommodations we look for in a rental home. Our wish list is always, pet friendly, nice deck, ocean views, well appointed kitchen (though we always bring a box of our own pans, knives, cutting boards, and cooking utinsils), clean, comfortable beds, and a family room/TV room that accommodates at least 6 comfortably. -

WoodlandHummingbird Hideout Offers Many Benefits
Left on 08/09/2010 for a stay in July 2010
This pet-friendly property is a great value with its quiet neighborhood location, updated and very well-stocked kitchen. The small, enclosed yard was ideal since we traveled with our family dog. The floor plan is ideal for those who want to sleep while others may be active in the living space as the bedrooms are down a long hallway from the main area. The furnishings and property are in excellent condition and the house is open and well lit with all the windows. There are two charcoal bbqs that could use a little updating but are adequate. The 2-car garage is a plus as well. The Master Bdr and bath are very large. Walking to the beach is another benefit.

Just love this place and will rent it again. It's so great to have a little fenced area where we can let the dog out to do her business. The remodeled kitchen was wonderful to cook in as we could also enjoy the view. It's also just the right distance to the beach for a good walk. We also appreciated the firm bed in the master bedroom and the spaciousness. The living area is so nice and sunny---a great place to sit and read. We've rented this place before and are glad to see the beds improved and the kitchen remodeled.
