Gokpinar is a old,nomadic little village with a population of 100.

Located on the Aegean Coast of Turkey, we enjoy a location away from areas with heavy tourist traffic.We are only 15 minutes drive from a lovely beach.

Our land sits at the edge of the village, on a scenic hilltop with views of all the landscape for miles around the village.Our comfortable, airy guest rooms have great views of the countryside.We decorated in Turkish style, with kilims created locally covering our floors and walls.       Natural beauty and country comfort

      Gokpinar is a lovely house set atop a hillside; I couldn't get enough of the gorgeous views. There is an airport within easy driving distance (Bodrum/Milas), and we were met by an English-speaking guide and transferred to the house.

      The home itself is relaxed and simple. It has a natural beauty that fits the landscape. It's a combination of modern comfort and the best of classic Turkish lifestyle. Native stone and wood is in several locations, there is an option to cook in a centrally-located kitchen or outside on the terrace in fine weather. We enjoyed the colors of locally-woven rugs in the rooms.

      The house overlooks a very small village, so there's no fully-stocked market within walking distance. A few kilometers away, there's a local market (also a weekly street market that's fantastic) that sells everything you need.

      The hosts of the house were available to give us cooking lessons, so we practiced with local cuisine. The house is wi-fi, has a very nice television, and music was always playing. Good bath/toilet facilities, several comfortable bedrooms, very nice living area and outside areas.

      We took trips to the beaches (15-30 minute drives), ate at great local restaurants (cheap!), found live music when we got closer to the larger city (Bodrum, 30-40 km away). We had chances to shop, go to musuems, and take outstanding photographs. I felt I didn't just have a get-away from my daily life, I got to relax and live a Turkish life for two weeks.
