Enjoy this exquisitely peaceful and sunny private retreat property on the outer Mesa near Agate Beach in Bolinas!

Newly renovated, this rustic classic of a Bolinas Craftsman home is a sweet getaway that features three or four bedrooms with comfortable beds, natural finishes and furnishings, two bathrooms with tubs, a sparkling new kitchen with Viking gas range, beautiful farm sink, marble countertops and a charming gas fireplace in the dining room. Incredibly beautiful wildlife outdoors, tide pools full of amazing marine biology, and enchanting decor make this a magical and wonderful home.

One of the highlights of this unique and... breathtaking property is the nature walk to Agate Beach beach, where you can walk for hours along the wild coast along diverse shores without seeing anyone. The garden features a waterlily pond surrounded by a seasonal Monarch butterfly forest on all sides, giving total privacy from neighbors. A huge red-shouldered hawk hunts all day in the meadow out front, a family of deer hang out on the front lawn, hummingbirds fly around the rose bushes that climb up the house, butterflies dance around the garden, and foxes spy on you from the trees. It is a truly wonderful place!

Monarch Haven is a wonderful retreat for meditation and small workshops. A separate meditation and healing room in the garden overlooks our beautiful wild meadow. There is a small Healing Room in the garden with cedar walls, new wall to wall wool carpet, heater, meditation and healing books and massage tools. There is room for one person to sleep on if there is overflow in the house for an additional fee of $45 per night.

Two stories: 3 Bedrooms downstairs with one bathroom in the Master Bedroom. Large Living Room, Den (or Guest Bedroom), Full Bath, Full Kitchen, Dining Room and Deck upstairs.

High Speed Wireless Internet and Landline. 55" Flat Screen HDTV with Apple TV, Netflix, and DVD player. Washer and Dryer. Art supplies, games, DVD's and toys for kids and adults.

Monarch Haven is a low EMF zone...ATT cell service works most of the time, but calls can sometimes be dropped, so there is a landline to make up for the spotty cell phone coverage.

Additional Location Information

The house is located in a peaceful and private meadow on a hill near the sea. Although the trees have grown up to obscure our once-grand ocean view, you can hear the sound of the waves as you sleep. It is a few minutes walk down to a beautiful beach and wild ocean landscape, where you can walk along the beaches for miles in either direction. Our property is on the Big Mesa of Bolinas, at the end of a dirt road...an extremely quiet and peaceful neighborhood.

The property feels very private, as you cannot see any other houses in the view. We are protected by wild groves of Eucalyptus and Pine trees on either side, providing a true sanctuary for wildlife and a tranquil, sunny, meditative atmosphere.

While the house feels surrounded by wild nature, we are only a 5 minute drive to downtown Bolinas, where there are surf breaks, restaurant, grocery stores, entertainment events, and art galleries.

Transportation from the airport can be arranged by request. There is sufficient parking for 3 cars on site.

  Monarch Haven is a tranquil retreat from the bustle of life. The house is very light and comfortable with beautiful views of the sea and the valley. My husband and I stayed with our daughter and there was ample room for all of us. Next time I would like to go back with just my husband as it would be such a lovely place for a romantic getaway. The decor is tasteful and the house comes with all amenities.
  We had such a lovely stay, and I hope to return to Monarch Haven very very soon.
