L’ORLANDINA – Prestigious 1800’s villa halfway Bologna and Ferrara, own park.

Located in the pretty town of Galliera – halfway Bologna and Ferrara with excellent connections to both cities – L’Orlandina is one of the most beautiful, typical 1800’s country villas in the whereabouts of Bologna, the gourmet and night life capital of Italy. The home of a very well reputed local family, this great mansion surrounded by its own park has been recently refurbished to accommodate large groups and families at the top of comfort, quiet and prestige in three different units, Pastello, Galletto and Mansarda, all served by an annex for... additional occupation. Deep-in-the-green and absolutely unique, extremely light-and-bright with large, comfortable rooms, convenient to the Bologna Fiera District as well as the other spots in town and the gorgeous city of Ferrara, L’Orlandina is air conditioned and features private parking, traditional craft, antique furniture and furnishing along with all the most modern appliances, all kitchen tools and an extra-large dining room with seating for 24 (on request). A wifi internet connection is provided at no extra charge. A resident caretaker is available for any possible needs.

The villa can accommodate 22 guests as a whole in the following layout:

- PASTELLO (up to 6 guests, 12 with the annex). Ground floor – Sitting-Dining room, with a fireplace. Livingroom, with a fireplace and two double sofabeds. Bedroom with en-suite half-bathroom and 2 single beds that can be pushed together to make a double. Kitchen. Bathroom (shower and tub). Additional extra-large dining room for 24 on request. Crib or similar available on request (no extra charge).

- GALLETTO (up to 6 guests, 12 with the annex). First floor – Livingroom. Bedroom #1: 1 double sofa bed, en-suite bathroom. Bedroom #2: 1 double sofa bed. Bedroom #3: 2 single beds that can be pushed together to make a double. Small bathroom (shower). Small kitchen. Additional extra-large dining room for 24 on request. Crib or similar available on request (no extra charge).

- MANSARDA (up to 4 guests, 10 with the annex). Second floor – Bedroom #1: 1 queen-size bed. Bedroom #2: 1 queen-size bed. Full bathroom. Extra-large, open space kitchen, dining room-lounge. Additional extra-large dining room for 24 on request. Crib or similar available on request (no extra charge).

- ANNEX (up to 6 guests): Three 2-single bedrooms with an en-suite bathroom each. Annex rooms cannot be rented separately from one or more of the abovementioned units.

The park is large, shady with a wide variety of trees and plants, furnished with outdoor furniture, ideal for al-fresco dining and relaxing. Overlooking the open fields and a small, quiet backstreet, the house is gifted with a charming home atmosphere where each thing has its own history. Stores, shops, restaurants, bars etc. are walking distance, and so are the bus stop and the train station. Rates vary according to season and occupation.

Additional Location Information

L'ORLANDINA is located in the pretty town of San Venanzio di Galliera, the countryside of Bologna, some 22 kms to the city center and about the same to Ferrara, with excellent liaisons to both (and more: Venice, Florence, Mantua etc. are all reachable in a short time by train - Bologna: 30 minutes). The villa is located near the main piazza and is surrounded by its own private park with a view over the open fields. The local life is quiet and cozy, locals are very friendly and always willing to help, especially with foreigners. Monday open-air market in San Vincenzo (walking distance), a colorful, all-Italian opportunity for shopping. There are a few pubs in town and a couple of very good family restaurants and pizzerias, but for "real" night life (i. e. theatres, pubs, world-renowned gourmet restaurants, music...) your target would be Bologna. Free, safe parking is provided within the boundaries of the villa. The train station is less than 10 minutes walk.

Rates displayed are weekly, for 2 guests. Each additional guest + 100 €/week (children under age 12 50% off, infants no charge). Linen and final cleaning fee: + 80 Euro. Shorter-than-a-week & long-stay rates available – please inquire. No fixed changeover day, booking accepted any day.
