NottinghamAmazing stay - would recommend to all
Left on 01/20/2012 for a stay in October 2011
My husband and I stayed at Werndoffn for our first anniversary in October and we are so pleased we did! The cottage has literally everything you could need and is just idyllic. There is plenty to see and do around the area (you will need a car), and we will definitely be returning for another visit. Thank you for being such amazing hosts!

BeddauJust what we needed - absolutely perfect
Left on 10/31/2011 for a stay in October 2011
I can only reiterate all the previous reviews - this is such a lovely, cosy and comfortable cottage and it really is fully equiped. We stayed for a weekend and we really couldn't find fault. Anne and Dave have thought of everything to make any stay at The Stable an easy and enjoyable one. The table laid for cream tea, Anne's baking plus the milk, butter, tea, coffee etc made our day when we arrived.
It's the perfect place to relax, walk and enjoy West Wales and we're returning again next year. Thank you anne and Dave.Response from Anne Nelson - 11/02/2011

Left on 05/20/2011 for a stay in October 2010
We had a wonderful welcome from anne and Tony including a cream tea. First cottage I have ever stayed in where everything had been thought of, it became a challenge between my husband and I to find something that was missing. Good location to visit Pembrokeshire. We do not often go back to the same place but in this case have no we know that we will return. Great value for money.

Colchester, EssexStunning views, beautiful stable conversion and peaceful
Left on 03/18/2011 for a stay in March 2011
The location is beautiful with lovely views across the hills and ideal for walkers or those with dogs. The Stable has been converted to a very high standard, has all the amenities (including a beautiful log burner stove) that you could ask for and more with the little additional touches added by the owners anne & Tony. The place was spotless and the welcome hamper even had dog biscuits for our boys. There was really nothing more that we could have asked for, they appear to have thought about everything.
For dog lovers or those with children the Stable garden was safe and secure and there was literally acres of space to exercise our dogs around the cottage.
The location is excellent with the marvellous, expansive and very clean Newport beach close by. Alternatively there are plenty of woods, hills, tracks and historical sites - all in easy reach with a car.
Mobile phone signals are weak so the owners have even included a mobile phone for use (just pay for what you use) and for those that still need to use their computer - WiFi access was available as well.
We've been on many cottage holidays over the years but this one really was the best equiped and well thought out. There is no doubt that we will return time and time again to explore more of Pembrokeshire and spend time with our hosts anne & Tony.

The stay was very comfortable, accomodation was an excellent standard with everything you could think of needing which is handy if you dont want to bring everything! Welcome was fab with hamper! CirencesterExcellent accomodation - Hard to find fault.
Left on 02/21/2011 for a stay in February 2011
An excellent cottage in a perfect location, it is difficult to mark it down on anything.
The value is excellent, spotlessly clean with a welcome pack including a cream tea awaiting on arrival - now thats a first!
The incredibly efficient log burner creates a toasty warmth not experienced with central heating.
The location is ideal, with nearby Cardigan offering all you need in the way of groceries and takeaways.
It feels like the owners have thought of everything you could possibly need, then added their own personal touch to polish off the stay
We plan to and will return sometime soon. -

Oxford, EnglandThe warmest welcome with excellent accommodation!
Left on 05/24/2010 for a stay in May 2010
Our very enjoyable stay at the cottage started before we arrived, with the arrival of a really useful welcome pack showing the local attractions which got us into our holiday mood!
We arrived at the cottage to find homemade bread, jams and a cream tea waiting for us, which is perfect after a long journey. We enjoyed these whilst looking out over amazing views across the valley and watching swallows swooping in and out of the barns.
The cottage was exactly as shown in the photos, so there were no surprises at all. The accommodation was fitted out to a high standard, with super comfy beds. There was even a full set of toiletries available in case we had forgotten anything.
The fireplace was all set up and ready to be lit, so we enjoyed a lovely log fire with one strike of a match.
When we left Anne kindly gave us a homemade cake, which we've enjoyed with some of the homemade jams we bought (which were cheaper than at the local farmers' market!).
Overall it was a fantastic stay, with a really warm welcome and many small touches which we haven't seen anywhere else.

LondonAbsolutely amazing little cottage - will be back before too long
Left on 05/04/2010 for a stay in April 2010
Everything about this place is astoundingly
amazing. That sounds a little OTT, but coming from
someone with reasonably high standards on what to
expect from a weekend away, I'm really quite
surprised as just how amazed we all were this gem
of a little cottage :-)
Firstly, Anne and Tony really have thought of
everything. We arrived to find a fresh cream tea
on the table with homemade jam, and fresh coffee,
milk and butter in the fridge and a newly baked
loaf out of the oven. All of this was the icing on
the cake considering how impeccably clean the
cottage was and the fact the heating was on :-)
Next up, the cottage is beautifully turned out and
all the furniture is really clean and comfortable.
The sheets on the bed had a lovely clean, freshly
laundered scent to them, and both the kitchen and
bathroom has absolutely everything you could
possibly need. For example, there were even new
spare toothbrushes in case you had forgotten your
own, and the kitchen had lots of eco friendly
cleaning products, herbs, etc.
We had absolutely no issues with our stay and we
are all still in awe of how much thought and
consideration has gone into every little aspect of
the guests' stay and experience by Anne and Tony.
We all agreed that even some 5* hotels we have said
in do not compare with our stay here :-) We had
complete peace of mind and we cherished every
moment of our stay. We all have plans to come back
and will be recommending this as a UK holiday
option for friends. We're even thinking of coming
back for our honeymoon!

Lyon, Francea quiet and peaceful place in a luxury cottage
Left on 08/02/2009 for a stay in July 2009
The cottage is in a quiet place, and it is easy to reach nice spots of the Pembrokeshire. Our hosts make us feeling very comfortable, thanks to their warm wellcome and the high standard quality of the cottage. The two bedrooms are very comfortable, as well as the bathroom. The kitchen is very functional and well-equiped. We really spend a great time during this week in the Stable at Wenrnddofn, hope to come back soon.

Left on 08/01/2009 for a stay in July 2009
The cottage is fantastic, confortable, cosy and warm. Placed on the top of the hill, you'll enjoy of amazing views of countryside and you'll have a peaceful and quiet holiday. The cottage offers you all the ammenities you need to feel it like your own home. A lot of information about the surrounding area (walks, local amenities,..)is available.
The owners, Anne and Tonny are de perfect host and they'll give you a warm welcome.
In short, the best cottage in Pembroshire if you want a peaceful holiday far from the hustle and bustle of the city. I'll go back in short although I live on Canary Islands!! -

OxfordshireWonderful weekend in Boncath
Left on 07/09/2009 for a stay in June 2009
Myself, my husband, and our two children had a truly fantastic weekend in this beautiful part of Wales and much of that was due to the high standard of accommodation and hospitality given by Anne and Tony Nelson.
The cottage is beautifully furnished, well equipped and set in wonderful tranquil surroundings with breath-taking views from the large garden.
Attention to detail given by the Nelsons is second to none from the welcome pack on your arrival to the home made cake for your departure.
Would recommend to anyone and have already booked to go back.

Wallsend, EnglandA perfect retreat!
Left on 05/22/2009 for a stay in May 2009
This beautiful cottage is indeed 'A little bit of heaven on earth'! The location is perfect, a peaceful haven surrounded by beautiful countryside, but within easy reach of places to visit from glorious gardens to fabulous beaches, and lots of attractions for the younger generation! Having stayed in several cottages over the years, we discovered that The Stable at Wernddofn was the best equipped cottage we have ever rented! The owners Tony & Anne have thought of everything you could require for a fabulous holiday, they were friendly, available whenever needed, and extremely thoughtful! The cottage is warm and cosy, with comfortable beds, sofa & chairs. A beautiful welcome basket containing some delicious homemade goodies (i.e freshly baked bread, cake, homemade jams & marmalade)& an amazing array of toiletries and kitchen products are awaiting your arrival. Visitors are also greeted with the table set for a cup of tea and a slice of Annes delicious homemade Bara Brith (traditional Welsh teabread ... after trying three other brands, Annes was voted the best we'd tasted!). The owners also provide a selection of games/puzzels & books, cd's & dvd's, something for all the family to enjoy! My family thoroughly enjoyed our week, and were very sad when the holiday came to an end! Thank you Anne & Tony, we will return!
