Cottages at Clydey - Ivy Cottage

A wonderfully romantic little stone Cottage, attached to the main Farmhouse, with wooden beams throughout and magnificent views over the far reaching countryside, hills and woodland.

There is a very comfortable open plan sitting/dining room featuring a large inglenook fireplace with a wood burning stove - perfect for those romantic nights snuggling up in front of a real log fire. Ivy Cottage has flat screen LCD TV's with Freeview Channels both downstairs and upstairs in the bedroom, a DVD Player and iPod docking station.

There is an open plan fitted kitchen, fully equipped and including an el...ectric oven with ceramic hob, full size fridge freezer, microwave oven and dishwasher.

From the sitting room, the stairs lead directly into the spacious open plan bedroom with a superking bed adorned with luxurious linens and fabrics. The view from the large bedroom window is over the front lawns, leading to the meadow and woodland beyond. Leading from the bedroom is the bathroom which has been newly refurbished (March 2011) with separate power shower and new, very luxurious slipper bath.

Outside on the terrace, there is a bistro table for two where you can sit alfressco and enjoy the fantastic view.

(Note for Parents: as the stairs lead directly into the bedroom upstairs, there is no door into the bedroom so any noise may travel between the bedroom and downstairs and vice versa. Soaking up the warm sunshine and breathing in the fresh Welsh air are all you need to realise you are on holiday in one of the most beautiful places in the British Isles.

A leisurely (or sometimes taxing!) walk along the famous Pembrokeshire and Ceredigion coastal paths, will allow you to take in some breathtaking views and scenery and you may even be lucky enough to see the Cardigan Bay Bottlenose Dolphins which are resident in the area.

To get 'up close and personal' with the dolphins, seals and occasional whale, take a guided sightseeing boat trip around the coast or a sea fishing trip to catch your supper!

For those of you who would rather keep your feet on dry land, there are heritage sites and castles to visit. Cilgerran Castle, a beautiful ruin, is just 2 miles away from the Cottages at Fron Fawr and sits high above the Teifi river with views across the surrounding valley.

To walk along the Teifi gorge, visit the nearby West Wales Wildlife Centre at Cilgerran where there's a new visitor centre and organic café. The whole family can enjoy a gentle trip down the river in a canoe or the more adventurous can opt for a kayak.

National Trust properties and Cadw sites are plentiful and you can visit historic houses and gardens; try your hand at panning for gold in the Dolacothi Gold Mines; or take part in an archaeological dig at Castell Henllys, a reconstructed Iron Age Fort.

The beaches in West Wales are simply stunning - wide and open with rock pools and sand dunes or sheltered and sandy for lazy summer days.
