Nous Hôtes is a charming cottage in Bonlez, in the centre of Belgium, 10 minutes from the University town of Louvain-la-Neuve, halfway between Brussels and Namur.

Beautiful countryside location with panoramic view over the surrounding fields and woods. Well-established garden with heated outdoor swimming pool. Two bedrooms accommodate 4.

Open since 2011. Short breaks, medium and long term lets.

Golf, cycling, walking, horse riding. French language classes. Appreciated by expats as well as leisure travelers.

A charming cottage annexed to the main house dating back to the early 20th century.

This comfortable tw...o-storied cottage with a very cosy and homely feel is fully equipped and roomy (90 sqm) and was completely renovated to high standards. It has central heating, quality furnishings, fabrics and original artwork.

Two bedrooms accommodate 4. One of the bedrooms has an alcove containing an extra bed (1.6 m) convenient for a child. Baby cot also available.

Off road parking. Free wifi internet access.

Also convenient for long term lets, e.g. for expats with an assignment for several weeks or months.

French language and culture classes can be combined with your stay. The owner, who is a French teacher, gives the classes. For information and arrangement, contact us.

The owners of the cottage are living on site in the main house and will grant you a personalized welcome. They will provide you with all useful information and will be glad to help whenever needed. But don't worry, they are not intrusive. The cottage is yours for the duration of your stay and your privacy will be respected. Be aware however that you will share the swimming pool with them.

Located at the outskirts of the village of Bonlez, part of the Chaumont-Gistoux entity, the cottage is surrounded by fields and wood. Yet, you will find a lot of things to do in the immediate vicinity., be it cultural, historical, gastronomic or sports-related: 3 golf courses (Bercuit, Bawette and LLN), Walibi amusement park, Adventure Park in Wavre, horse riding, cycling, walking, tennis, restaurants, theatre, cinema, cultural activities, etc.

Moreover, as the cottage is ideally located in the centre of Belgium, all major tourist sites are within easy reach. (Read more in the "location description" section below)

Indoors

The two-storied cottage is well equipped and roomy (90 sqm) with a very cosy and homely feel. A large French window gives access to the terrace and the garden. The open plan kitchen is separated from the dining room by a breakfast bar with three high stools. The kitchen has high quality built-in equipment: fan oven with grill and microwave oven, 4 plate ceramic hob, extractor hood, large fridge/freezer, dishwasher. The kitchen has all the usual cooking appliances, including toaster, kettle, coffee maker. Table cloths, dishtowels and dishcloths are also provided.

There is a separate toilet on the ground floor, and a toilet in the bathroom on the first floor.

Two bedrooms accommodate 4 adults. The master bedroom on the first floor features a comfortable double bed (160 cm x 200 cm) and has an alcove dressing room containing an extra bed (80 cm x 160 cm) convenient for a child. The bedroom on the ground floor has a comfortable double sofa bed. On request, this bedroom can be equipped with two single beds if needed. Ample wardrobe space is provided. The bathroom has a large modern walk in shower (160 cm x 90 cm), a wash basin and a toilet, as well as a washing machine. A hairdryer is provided. You will find a folding drying rack, an ironing board and iron, a vacuum cleaner and cleaning equipment stored in the cupboard adjacent to the bathroom.

The cottage is strictly no smoking. No pets allowed.

Cable TV, DVD player, CD player, books, tourist information and maps are available, as well as a high chair and some toys for small children.

Outdoors

Relaxing in the swimming pool, in the well-established garden or from the terrace, you will be overwhelmed by the beauty of the surrounding scenery, overlooking the village church of Bonlez down the hill and benefiting from a gorgeous panoramic view over the fields and woods.

?The heated swimming pool (11 m x 4.5 m) is open from spring to autumn, 5 months a year. Deckchairs and parasol are provided. Most of the 1,600-sqm large garden is accessible. On the terrace and in the garden, you can use the table and chairs for outdoor dining and barbecue, weather permitting.

The cottage has direct access to walking trails and cycle tracks. Amongst other activities, a lot of horseback riding, tennis and golf opportunities are available in the immediate vicinity of the cottage.

There is an off road parking area for your car.

Less then 1 mile out of the cottage you will find two welcoming restaurants. In Gistoux, 2 miles away, several restaurants, shops and middle-size supermarkets are available, even on sundays.Read more

At the outskirts of the village of Bonlez, part of the Chaumont-Gistoux entity, the cottage is surrounded by fields and wood. Yet, you will find a lot of things to do in the immediate vicinity. Moreover, as the cottage is ideally located in the centre of Belgium, all major tourist sites are within easy reach and you can visit all historical and tourist sites of Belgium in just one day. Louvain-la-Neuve, Waterloo, Louvain (Leuven), Namur and Brussels are less than 20 miles away.

In the immediate vicinity, you are sure to find something of interest be it cultural, historical, gastronomic or sports-related: 3 golf courses (Bercuit, Bawette and LLN), Walibi amusement park, Adventure Park in Wavre, horse riding, cycling, walking, tennis, restaurants, theatre, cinema, cultural activities, etc.
Visit the local museums (Longueville's clock museum, Chaumont's war museum) and discover by the beautiful countryside. Don't miss the Hergé museum in Louvain-la-Neuve (Hergé is the guy you know who created Tintin).
The historical cities of Waterloo, Louvain, Namur, Brussels, Nivelles, and the ruins of the Villers-la-Ville Abbey are all within a short drive, as are the Folon Foundation and the Solvay Castle at La Hulpe. You can also visit all other historical and tourist sites of Belgium in just one day coming back to the cottage in Bonlez for a good night sleep.

Less then 1 mile out of the cottage you will find two welcoming restaurants. In Gistoux, 2 miles away, several restaurants, shops and middle-size supermarkets are available, even on sundays. And for larger supermarkets, you only have to drive less than 5 miles to Wavre. All kind of shops are to be found in Gistoux, Wavre and Louvain-la-Neuve.

Arrival at any day.
We charge a minimum rate of 250 € per stay (300 € in July and August). This minimum rate includes up to 3 nights stay.
Third week discount and long stay discount available: please contact the owner.
Bookings will be confirmed upon receipt of a deposit of 30% of the total rent.
Security deposit requested.
Option: Supplement for cleaning upon departure: 50 euro

  J'ai loué ce logement pendant la durée d'un chantier professionnel (grosso modo une petite vingtaine de jours) dans le but de trouver un hébergement plus pratique et plus convivial qu'à l'hotêl, étant donné que ma femme et notre bébé m'ont accompagné.
  Le séjour a été parfait, les hôtes ont été aux petits soins et ont été très réactifs quant aux petites demandes qu'on a pu avoir.
  L'aménagement du gite a été tres bien pensé, il ne manque vraiment rien.
  En vrac et pèle-mêle: dans la cuisine (qui est tres bien fournie): lave vaisselle, machine à café, grille pains, combi four/micro-ondes, bouilloire, 2 machines à café, plaque vitrocéramique, hotte, batteur de cuisine, tres bien équipée en vaisselle en tout genre; dans la salle de bains : douche à l'italienne (la classe!), sèche cheveux, lave linge, séchoir à linge, baignoire en plastique pour bébé, dans le salon : une belle grande table + 4chaises, 1 ensemble télé+lecteur DVD, 4 fauteuils, une bibliothèque bien fournie, des jeux pour enfants, des jeux de société, dans la chambre principale : 1 ensemble télé+lecteur DVD, un grand lit (160cm?) avec une literie de qualité, un lit bébé...Enfin bref, j'en oublie certainement (la grande piscine extérieure dont je n'ai malheureusement pas pu profiter...on était en mars...), mais on se sent vraiment à l'aise dans ce gite. Les proprios ont compilé un petit "book" avec les randos à proximité, la liste des supermarchés, les restos...ça répond à pas mal de questions qu'on pourrait se poser. Un grand coup de chapeau !!!

  Outstanding service from first enquiry to our unwilling departure at the end of our holiday. Francoise and Paul were perfect hosts, available if needed but never intrusive.
  The house is very well appointed and every need has been thought about. If you come with babies or small children or older kids like we did, you'll not be disappointed.
  We loved the rural location and the peace and quiet this holiday home offered yet delighted in the fact that motorways were only 5 mins away and Brussels only 30 mins. We found plenty to do for 1 week and probably could have filled 2.
  We loved the fact that it felt like our own private house, garden and pool yet the hosts were only a doorbell way if needed.Our boys (11 & 14) loved the pool and WiFi and i loved the views, the deer and the beautiful garden. My only small wish was that there was a boulangerie in walking distance as well as the fantastic restaurant, Auberge Lappin, try the steak!

  Top Class accommodation at a Budget Price

  We liked this property so much this is our second family holiday here. We were initially attracted by the facilities displayed on the website and were not disappointed. The property is furnished to a high standard with well appointed Kitchen with dishwasher, bathroom with large walk-in shower and washing machine, and comfortable bedrooms. The cottage has a large garden overlooking rolling farmland with Garden table/chairs which is ideal for al fresco dining. The icing on the cake is the heated swimming pool which was ideal for entertaining the children and made the holiday complete. The local village has a variety of supermarkets, restaurants and cafe's for your basic needs. Brussels, Leuven, Gent and Namur are all within easy reach by car and well worth visiting. Leuven is great for a night out and is a vibrant cosmopolitan City with striking architecture. The owners of the property, Francoise and Paul live in the neighbouring house and made us feel very welcome, were on hand to answer any questions we had but were not imposing and respected our privacy. We will definitely choose the cottage for a return visit and would recommend it for both families or a couple.

  We received a very warm welcome by the wonderful hosts who gave us useful advice on what to see and do in the surroundings and help when needed.
  The cottage is situated in the quiet contryside with a stunning view over a valley with fields and woods.
  Still it is just a short drive to several nearby cities and 30 minuttes from Brussels.
  We found the cottage, very well equipped, clean and decorated in good taste. Our children especially loved the swimmingpool. All in all we really enjoyed our stay.

  Parmi les plus, des hôtes accueillants, prévenants et présents; le cadre de la maison est situé en zone verte: panorama et tranquilité sont au rendez-vous: et si le temps le permet, le séjour peut être agrémenté d'une baignade dans la piscine donnant vue sur les champs et la vallée!
