We rented the cabin for a weekend in February with a bunch of friends - everyone loved the amenities and the overall feel of the house. It was nice to have a jacuzzi right outside the porch and a grill. Due to the location of the cabin there is no cell signal there so it was nice to be disconnected from the world for a weekend. It was refreshing. Except for the part when our friends lost connection in the middle of the night while driving up to the cabin the first night. Make sure you have directions printed when you are coming to the cabin. You lose reception about 20 mins away from the cabin.

The house was beautiful & had nice amenities. The living area was open to the dining area which was open to the kitchen - excellent. The living area had a lovely pine cathedral ceiling. Living area had beautiful big windows. Nice kitchen appliances. This particular home had good use of space & had 3 queen beds, 2 twin beds in a loft, bunk beds built into a part of the playroom. Liked the ping pong table. (needed new paddles badly) TVs & dish network nice (took us half the time there to figure out how to operate it though). Living area TV needed upgrade (flat screen) and TV in MB would've been super. Fine jetted tub in MB. Awesome hot tub on deck - yeah! Water pressure was awful in showers (label on light switch "low water pressure" told us they knew of this, but that still didn't fix the problem. The home was beautiful and clean. Sheets for each bed were folded neatly and a ribbon tied around them? (wouldve been nicer if they had been put on the bed) We thoroughly enjoyed our trail ride. Started on trail ride with Hugh one day and it was rained out as soon as we started. Took trail ride the next day with Lizzy. Absolutely loved the horses. Nice scenery on ride too! Wish Lizzy would have stopped and straightened my daughter's saddle. The saddle was slightly right of center and riding behind her, it didn't look comfortable to ride that way for two hours. I mentioned this. Lizzy said my daughter was sitting crooked & not the saddle but riding behind her, I could clearly see the center of the saddle was not in the center of the horse. Oh well. The ride was beautiful and enjoyable. Trails did have some areas of wash out/wear away needing repair. Pool on property was not near house, but was OK. A very small pool, but was clean. Staff in restaurant and store were very, very nice and helpful! A restaruant, or restaurants to eat at (any & all meals) in close proximity would be good. (restaurant travel min 30 mins)Loved going to Boone & Blowing Rock.

MerleFest, the other time for just "getting away".
The folks at Leatherwood are fantastic and are a credit to

Had a great time...house was comfortable and spacious and clean. Views are spectacular. Easy access. Good hiking trails. Staff was very helpful and friendly. One of our most enjoyable times ever in the mts. as a family.
One suggestion: cost is too pricey for off-season - should be closer to $ 160-170 per day. I see where you have the price at the top of this page as $ 199 and up. We would like to have had the $ 199 price.
