Black Pearl Luxury Luxury Over water Bungalow
Bora Bora, Society Islands, French Polynesia
Additional Location Information
James Michener called Bora Bora 'The most beautiful island in the world. And it is, it really is.
Bora Bora is one of the Society Islands in the South Pacific, Tahiti being the largest. It is only a seven and a half hour flight from Los Angeles and only three hours earlier PST. The same time zone as Hawaii. Only two hours when daylight savings time ends. To get there, you take a direct flight to Tahiti and then a 45 minute island hopper to Bora Bora. You are now officially in paradise. Use your state of the art kitchen to prepare a meal, or dine out at the many fine restaurants on the island. The activities are endless if you wish to keep busy, or just lie down on the veranda, listen to the water and finish that 1000 page book you can't seem to finish. Life takes on new meaning when you are surrounded by the serenity and the beauty of Bora Bora. Come and see for yourself!

What Past Guests Are Saying
Richard: We expected paradise and found Nirvana staying in your perfect home and setting in Bora Bora! We wanted privacy and luxury and got it in spades! Everything was perfect! Nir was exceptional and made our stay even more pleasurable and seamless. Thanks so much for making this vacation the most memorable one we've ever taken. We hope to return some day and stay even longer!
this was a very exciting trip!
I loved the room espeacially at night when the water reflected on the ceiling of the bunglow and your own private dock. I loved the way the fish would come right up to you and eat right out of your hand. We swam with the dolphins which was amazing. Would love to go again soon.

If you are searching for the perfect combination of luxury, relaxation, privacy, and mind-blowing beauty, the Black Pearl is it. In our entire lives, we have never been so relaxed. The Black Pearl offers the opportunity to escape from life and to revel in such rare pleasures. The bungalow is gorgeous. There is a large, fully stocked kitchen with all the utensils and appliances that allow you to cook at home and relax. The living room has comfortable couches, a flat screen television, and all the space you could need. The bedroom is large, comfortable, and clean. The bathroom is beautiful and offers a large shower and a tub. In short, the Black Pearl does not feel like a hotel or a vacation rental; it truly feels like home. We were so comfortable and so blown away that we never wanted to leave.
We started each morning with coffee on the back porch. The porch overlooks the water. Depending on the tides, the time of day, and the angle of the sun, the water literally had 100 different colors of blue and green. When we finished our coffee, we took out the kayaks and paddled along the shore or, on other days, we snorkeled in the water right outside the bungalow. We were surprised that this water was filled with blue, yellow, and striped fish! We sat on the back porch and soaked in the sun while reading books. We did rent a car and we took the 15 minute ride to the beaches of Matira and the restaurants. We cooked dinner several nights of our stay because the Black Pearl was so incredible that we wanted nothing more than to continue relaxing in such opulence.
As if the bungalow itself was not heaven enough, Nir, the manager of the Black Pearl, made the entire stay even more unbelievable. He went so far out of his way to make sure that we had everything that we needed at all times. He made wonderful recommendations for activities and restaurants. And he was always a cheerful voice on the other end of the phone (which he provides you with when at the Black Pearl so that you can always reach him!!). Although we felt like we had our own island and our own home while at the Black Pearl, Nir was our connection to the rest of the island at all times.
When researching Bora Bora, the typical image that appears is the over the water bungalows of one of the luxury hotels, i.e. Ritz Carlton, Intercontinental, etc. The Black Pearl blows these bungalows away. Each of those hotels is on a separate island. The bungalows of the other hotels are not private and, to the contrary, appear to be basically on top of one another. You will have little seclusion and you share the water around your bungalow with the other guests. You also rely upon the often unpredictable and nonresponsive (from what we heard from guests at those hotels) water taxis to get to the main island where the Black Pearl is located. But, not at the Black Pearl!! The Black Pearl offers all of the luxury and accomodations as these luxury hotel bungalows, but, you get the privacy, seclusion, convenience, and comforts of home as well. If you are deciding between the Black Pearl and one of those other hotels, the Black Pearl is not only the cost efficient choice, but, the best choice for activities, beauty, and privacy!! It will blow you away. We would recommend the Black Pearl a million other times over. It is home and luxury and exquisite opulence all in one. You will not be sorry!!!
If you have extra time, combine your stay at the Black Pearl with a few nights at Rohotu Fare Lodge for the perfect over the water bungalow - mountainside stay combination!! It is true paradise every minute of the day.
Heaven...Bliss...the perfect vacation!
What a wonderful place to spend a honeymoon! The bungalow was perfect...it had a great kitchen, a beautiful bathroom and shower, great views from every window and the most beautiful deck over crystal clear water! The caretaker helped with dinner reservations, scuba diving, adventure excursions etc...we cannot say enough about the beauty that awaits you in Bora! We cannot wait to go back! We look forward to staying at the Black Pearl! Thank you for everything!
Privacy and beauty
This is a beautiful full house over the water with kayaks under the house and all the space and necessities for a nice stay. Negatives were: the BBQ never worked the whole time there no matter how many times I called; Safe wouldn't let us in once so we did not use it anymore; There are a few fish around the house but not many for snorkeling; (maybe we were stupid) but could never get a movie to show up on the TV screen - (could hear it but never see it): The house is far enough out you really do need a car.
There is a nice little beach next to the house and beauty and privacy were wonderful. Matira Beach on the southern end of the island is where you want to spend most of the days for a good beach, good snorkeling, good food. It is 32 KM around the island (great road) and this house is equal distance from Matira Beach whichever way you go.
The place was very clean and most everything else worked great. Newly marrieds and people who want quiet this is the place.
Do go the Lagoonaquarium Cruise. It is the best. Not a lot of action on the island itself. Most on the motus around the island. This is one of the most beautiful places on earth.
Response from Richard Holland - 10/16/2011
We have replaced the barbecue with a new one and the safe is working fine now. The television does work and there is a button on the remote that must be changed. Instructions are provided. There are plenty of fish along the bungalows, especially if you bring bread. There are beautiful eagle rays that show up at sunset and turtles as well. Matira is beautiful and a great place to go. We always tell our clients that a car is a necessity. We do our very best to keep things in tip-top shape, but sometimes it is difficult as Bora Bora is so isolated. I apologize for any inconvenience you might have experienced while there.
Michelle and I spent two amazing weeks at the Black Pearl. The home is beautiful, clean and most relaxing. Of all the beach destination we have been to, this is by far the best.
We enjoyed how quiet the home and the area is. Every day, we would snorkel right off the dock. We easily drove to restaurants and shopping (rented car).
You will have the vacation of a life time if you stay here.
