      Well Worth It

Left on 04/21/2013 for a stay in April 2013

this was a great trip for me. from the time i started booking to the end. Tini replied to my emails and inquiries in a timely manner and even gave me heads up about the road construction. directions provided were straight forward - just print a copy in case.

      Area:
i was looking for something quiet, either with a view or beach side but close enough to walk to the bars and the action. its about 15 - 20 minute walk to the main beach area (using army & navy burgers or astoria as reference) but bare in mind that the house is on a steep hill - so might not be suitable for some but finding a bike or tric is relatively easy. area is definitely safe even if you're stumbling around at 3am. i made the trek twice a day and made some friends along the way but for obvious reasons cant remember their names.

      House:
exactly as advertised - i stayed in unit 3 but would prefer unit 1 for my next stay. 2 floor units with lots of room. not much around as far as food options go so be ready to head out or get some supplies to cook. the view is amazing - can't really say more about it. there is no ac but the fan and airy layout of the place will keep you cool.

Tips: bring a beach bag, a flask and whatever else you need for your day trips - worked for me - and speakers for good vibes in the late evenings/early mornings. treat this place as a rental rather than hotel so don't expect room service. wake up at 530 to catch the million dollar sunrise.

i'll definitely come back to this place and will recommend it to friends looking for a similar experience.

      Very stylish with awesome view!

Left on 12/27/2012 for a stay in November 2012

The stylish design of this place is great. The view is truly amazing. The caretakers where amazing. I did like this place, but I had a few issues during my stay and is why I gave it 3 stars.

First was no airCon. I knew this going in, so I can only blame myself. I thought I would be able to handle no airCon, but after a few days I decided otherwise and ended up moving to another property.

Second, was the road along Bulabog beach was completely under construction. It was really a nightmare walking along that stretch and a trike ride was pretty rough. I was no aware of this.

Third, was the hill going up to the apartment was too steep for me and my fiance. It was no fun walking up it and then going into an apartment with no airCon. We are young so we didn't have any real problem with it, but it was not enjoyable for vacation in my view.

Fourth, was the wifi didn't work for me. The caretakers tried their best to getting it working and it did work for short periods of time, but it wasn't really usable. That was disappointing to me since I was planning to use Skype to keep in touch with family in the States.

Last, it was too far from White Beach and D'Mall in my opinion. It was very walkable. We walked it several times. But, I would have liked to have been closer. I guess I'm lazy.

The unit was really great. The people were great. So, if you don't mind no airCon and a steep hill to walk up then you will really enjoy this place! I just tried to write an honest review from my perspective.

Amazing view, stylish interior, lots of room, great people

Left on 07/30/2012 for a stay in January 2012

We stayed at Bahay Boracay after having researched on - I think - 80 % of the hotels and vacation rentals on Boracay. When we travel, we primarily book 4 and 5 star-hotels, and we were not disappointed about this place. I also write this after having looked at other hotels and vacation rentals on Boracay (from the outside), while we were there. I don't think you will get similiar value for money anywhere else on Boracay. The finishing touch must be the owners - really, really nice people that you instantly like because of, among other things, their hospitality.

The apartment is even more spacious than it looks like at the pictures and the view from the first floor is simply stunning and almost healing if you have a stressfull everyday. All the interior seems carefully chosen to match the surrounding area / nature and in Europe one would probably have named this a 'boutique hotel' : ) The place is build on a cliff and you must walk up a steep hill to get there, so it's not a place for disabled people.

The kitchen is equipped with the most basic things - enough to cover our needs (breakfast, coffee and sometimes lunch). There are no bath towels to bring to the beach, so remember to bring some.

One final thing related to location: The beach in front of the apartment is a bit disappointing (compared with the other gems on the island such as Diniwit and White beach), if you are not a kite surfer. The beach is windy, which is nice, but it's a bit dirty and overcrowded with kite surfers. However, it only takes 10-15 minutes to get to the other side of the island - 20-25 minutes if you are walking - and I'm sure there are no places on that side of the island with the view that we had on Bulabog beach.

      great view on bulabog beach

Left on 03/03/2012 for a stay in February 2012
