Our group of 7 stayed at the Tanawin Resort in august 2012 and could not have asked for a better experience. The building has an amazing view of the beach and rest of the island. Because it's not next to the beach, the area is very quiet at night. They provide free transportation to and from D Mall every hour which we used every day.
We stayed in Unit 11, which was large enough for 7 people comfortably. The unit was clean and amenities were very nice. The balcony was very large and had great views. Plus the rooftop areas was just one floor up and a nice place to relax and take in the view. It was nice to have a large refrigerator as well as stove, oven, microwave, plus dishes and silverware. There was also free wi-fi included throughout the property. When planning the trip, we could stay here for the same price as getting 3 hotel rooms and we wouldn't have gotten all of the extras.
The staff was very helpful and friendly. They provided an extra key since we were a group of 7 (originally we were only given 1). Since there are only 12 units, they immediately recognized us and we felt very safe in their hands. The housekeeping staff was very nice and did a great job, especially with all the sand!
Communication with the owner was very quick and efficient. He helped set up the rental, as well as set up transportation from Caticlan airport to the villa. I would highly recommend a stay at the Tanawin.Response from Todd Nation - 09/28/2012
