      Loved Casa Bueno!

Left on 03/23/2013 for a stay in March 2013

After months of researching villas on this forum (researching = obsession), we booked Casa Bueno for our first family trip to St. John. I went down with my husband, parents (father who is partially handicapped) and two small children (ages 2 & 3). When traveling with two small children and quasi-handicapped parent, booking a villa with safety (and a/c) was important to me.

The road to the villa was paved and easy to drive-- no worries at all. The driveway was steep, but not difficult and we expected that in St. John!! For the villa, three of the four bedrooms were in the main house (two on main level and master up) with interior access (with two small children this is important). In addition, each of the king bedrooms had it's own bathroom. The dining, living rooms and kitchen were centralized with the 3 bedrooms off of it. There was a fourth bedroom / bath on the lower level, but we did not use it. Top/bottom washer and dryer were located within general living area behind inconspicous door.

As many other reviewers have mentioned, the view is amazing! No matter the weather or type of day. The villa was stocked with top of the line furniture, table/bed linens and decor. All linens (kitchen, bath and beach towels) were clean and plentiful. Indoor furniture was high-end and no detail was left unthought of (ceiling / outdoor lighting, art work, etc). Kitchen was stocked with every imaginable pot, pan, glass type, plate size, utensil, toaster, regular coffee maker, etc.

For the outdoor areas, there was ample seating and living spaces. The outdoor furniture was weathered, but again expected as it is outside. The pool area was just off the main living area and the safety gates that are supplied in the house, took care of my concerns with the kids trying to get to the pool---which my two did constantly! The pool was always warm (in the mid-80's).

We did not encounter any bugs (no-see-ums) at the villa and the breezes were wonderful in the evenings. There were plenty of beach chairs, snorkel gear, cooler and floatation devices for the pool in the lower storage unit available for us to use. No beach umbrellas, but you do not need them at the beaches if you sit under the trees-- there is plenty of shade (and this was another concern of mine prior to arriving on St. John).

The Property Manager, Marc, was wonderful and very attentive! Any little quirk that came up (which will come up in any house) such as batteries for remotes, propane for grill, switching over cistern, etc, he came right out and assisted us immediately! Even after we left the house, we realized we left my daughters "favorite" stuffed animal in the bed and Marc responded to us both via telephone and email when he found it and mailed it back to us.

Very blessed the owners open this home up to share! Overall, I would not hesitate to recommend this villa to anyone and would return.

      Our Favorite so far

Left on 06/30/2011 for a stay in June 2011

This was our 5th stay in a Villa on the island and the house was our favorite. The best feature was the wrap around porch and lovely heated pool. It was so nice to take an early morning dip after our coffee. The view was gorgeous and the breezes were just right to make sitting outside comfortable. We will be coming back to stay again!!

      Affordable luxury and great location

Left on 02/28/2011 for a stay in January 2011

We have been visiting St. John for the past twenty years and feel that Casa Bueno is one of the best values we have encountered. Our vacation style includes morning visits to the beaches with lunch stops in Coral Bay and afternoon swims at Maho or Francis Bay. For us, the location was ideal. We particularly enjoyed evening cocktails on the porch overlooking Coral Bay.
We look forward to our vacation to Casa Bueno next January!

Casa Bueno is an amazing place

Left on 01/16/2011 for a stay in January 2011

There a lot of intangibles that made Casa Bueno a special place to stay. We enjoyed spending time on the deck with the outstanding views, we hung out by the pool and played cards inside at night around the coffee table. The kitchen was very functional and it was nice to have a washer/dry to use. The bedrooms were large and the beds were very comfortable. If there was a downside it was that my wife returned home completely unhappy with her own decorating. Note to self guys: Never stay someplace nicer than your own home because it will cost you. We have been back home less than a week and my wife already has made purchases to match the decorating at Casa Bueno. I like the location up on Bordeaux Mountain. It was a little cooler than at sea level and it was a short drive to Maho Bay and other north shore beaches. After only a week, Casa Bueno felt like home to us and we didn't want to leave.

      Top Notch Tranquility

Left on 12/06/2010 for a stay in November 2010

My 13 year old daughter and I recently stayed at the beautiful Casa Bueno and it was amazing. The view of the BVI takes your breath away as the tree frogs serenade you in the evenings under the magical stars.
We had everything we could possibly ask for at Casa Bueno and I cannot wait to go back with my husband and other loved ones!

Casa Bueno is convenient, comfortable and very classy.

Left on 10/13/2010 for a stay in November 2009

Perched high near the center of St John with the easiest of access yet the ultimate in privacy is the villa Casa Bueno. A private and paved road leads from Centerline Road to Casa Bueno’s driveway. The views are from the deck side of the house and are amazing… looking down to Coral Bay, past Hurricane Hole and on through the BVI to Virgin Gorda. The entire house is spacious, comfortable, well ventilated as well as completely air conditioned, and filled with natural light from windows on all sides. The furnishings are very attractive and comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped; the laundry was full sized. We would return to this villa without hesitation; Casa Bueno is convenient, comfortable, and very classy.

      Luxury in Paradise

Left on 08/19/2010 for a stay in April 2010

This place is even better than it looks. It is gorgeous!!! The property manager met us in town and led the way- which made finding it anxiety free. There was a bouquet of fresh island flowers on the counter and every amenity we wished for was either included or available nearby. If you even think you might want to stay here, act quickly, and do not lose out on this place. It is amazing!

      Beyond Expectations

Left on 08/13/2010 for a stay in April 2010

This house high on the side of Bordeaux Mt. on St. John is one of the better locations we have stayed at on the island.

Having been coming to the island since 1977 we have stayed at many. This location was clearly in the top 5 for all the right reasons, location, quality of residence, ease of use, views that never stopped, these just being a few of the reasons we would return there without hesitation.

If you are looking for a residence that is private & quite this may be for you.

A vehicle is a must if you stay here.

      Make Casa Bueno Your Escape!

Left on 08/12/2010 for a stay in February 2010

We stayed at Casa Bueno from 2/13/10-2/20/10. The home is a wonderful escape; truly feels like a home away from home with its cozy yet luxurious atmosphere and fantastic mid-island location. There is nothing like grilling dinner next to the pool or enjoying your morning coffee along with watching the haze burn off over Tortola in the distance. You are minutes away from Maho Bay's relaxing beach and the trail to Waterlemon Cay with its fantastic snorkeling. A quick drive brings you to the town of Coral Bay; Skinny's for a great blue cheese bacon burger and cold beer or Sweet Plantains for a dining experience that you will not soon forget, don't pass up their short ribs! Marc could not have been more helpful during our stay and ali at Villa Food had the kitchen stocked with food and drinks on our arrival. For a vacation that you will not forget enjoy the wonderful Casa Bueno on your next trip to beautiful St. John.
