This beautiful 360 square meter (3875 square foot) private mansion is located in the historic Saint-Seurin neighborhood, in the heart of Bordeaux, a short walk (under 10 minutes) from the city center.

This traditional XIX century hotel particulier (private mansion) is an impressive building with four bedrooms, three bathrooms, three living-rooms and a wonderfully spacious fully furnished kitchen opening onto a very nice dining room. The house also has a large terrace with an outdoor salon and a table that can accommodate dining for 6 to 8 people.

This exceptional apartment, generously arranged over three floors benefits from a g...round floor with high molded ceilings and luxurious proportions, two further floors, including a basement recently renovated in a modern style, and offers overall, calm and comfort in a typical restful Bordeaux neighborhood. This apartment is ideally located to observe Bordeaux, "la belle endormie" ("sleeping beauty") and discover why the city has been classified a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Ideal for families, couples or friends travelling together, the apartment can comfortably sleep eight people in 4 king-size beds, and up to four more beds can be added in two living-rooms, in order to accommodate up to twelve. Two cot beds for children under 3 years old are also available.

The gracious open plan living and the layout of the floors creates a welcoming space perfect for accommodating seminars, large groups, artist companies, weddings, receptions or professional and cultural events of all kinds. In a typical Bordeaux style, with its buildings and stalls from the end of the XVIII and beginning of the XIX centuries, the Saint-Seurin neighbourhood has the precious advantage of being beautiful, quiet and residential, yet offering at the same time all the desirable amenities and conveniences.
Less than 100 meters from your door you will find bakeries, grocery stores, pharmacies, banks and more, and another 200 meters will bring you to the "Place des Martyrs de la Resistance" which offers all the services and stores you could dream of. The "Place" is lined with gourmet fine food stores, restaurants, cafés and antique dealers. One of the oldest cultural buildings in Bordeaux is located here; the VI century "Basilique Saint Seurin" houses a paleochretienne necropolis that is now a fascinating underground museum. The "Basilique" is surrounded by a leafy park perfect for walks in the shade, but also for family games in the park's playground.

The house is close to the many shops and stores at the Bordeaux Meriadeck shopping center (a 5 minute walk away), and also to public transport (bus 100 meters, tramway 10 minutes walk, taxis). There is also plenty of street parking should you choose to have a car. In the Saint-Seurin neighbourhood itself you will find a sports center and gym with Olympic swimming-pool, and tennis players will be glad that the popular Villa Primerose club is very close to the apartment. Take public transport to the beautiful "Parc Bordelais", perfect for a family outing, within 10 minutes (or walk there in 20 minutes), as well as to the Aquitaine museum and the CAPC (Modern Art Museum).

Ideally located towards the west of the city, the apartment is only 15 minutes from Bordeaux's "Parc des Expositions" and "Palais des Congrès", and very close to Bordeaux-Mérignac International Airport (from 15 to 30 minutes depending on the traffic). From this exceptional and convenient location you are free to explore the celebrated Bordeaux region, and lovely Atlantic coast. The first vineyards (Pessac-Léognan) are only 20 minutes from the house, in France's most famous wine region, and the fine sand dunes and beaches of the Atlantic Ocean just a short 60 kilometer drive away.

  We were three couples spending 3 nights in Bordeaux. This is an absolutely lovely multi story home. The owner was always responsive to my e mails and questions. The contact person met us as planned at the home and explained everything to us. The neighborhood is safe and quiet. We walked everywhere from this location just outside of old town. We did not need to use public transport, but is is cheap and available nearby. The home is very bright and spacious and historic. The lower level has a wonderful entertainment room with a charming patio. The weather was great, and we enjoyed sitting on the private patio for wine and cheese in the evening. The kitchen is well equipped and is part of the great room on the main floor. There are supermarkets and small bakeries nearby, no problem bringing in food. All of the beds were very comfortable with nice linens and good pillows. Bathrooms were modern, spacious and clean. WiFi and cable TV worked great. Local and international phone calls were included in the rental cost. During the day, you will hear children playing as there is a school around the corner, that begins around 8:30 and ends by 5:30 or so. There are many stairs in the home, so be prepared to walk up and down to the bedrooms which are on the 2nd (master), 3rd and 4th floors. Our local contact arranged taxis for us on our departure day, which arrived right as scheduled. This is a lovely property, I only wish we could have stayed longer.
