      Very nice place, excellent location

Left on 05/20/2013 for a stay in May 2013

Still, it is quite surprising not to have any breakfast in a BandB !
More annoying, lot of shelves in the bathroom were wobbly, and the undersheet wasn't so clean.
Beyond that, the stay was really pleasant.

Thank you for letting us know about the bathroom shelves – We will get those tightened. We were also concerned about your comment regarding the sheets. We will ask our cleaning service to check all the linens for any stains. Regarding breakfast … This is a vacation rental, not a b&b. It is clearly stated in all guest confirmations that “this is a private apartment without a host” and “there is no breakfast and no room service.” We’re glad you enjoyed your stay overall and hope we can welcome you again the next time you visit Boston.

      Great Management but Mediocre apartment

Left on 05/02/2013 for a stay in April 2013

The company that manages Back Bay apartment 2 was great, very helpful and accommodating. The apartment however was mediocre. As it is a basement apartment we found it quite noisy with people staying in the apartment above. It is also located next to the boiler which was running at the time we stayed. The bathroom is tiny and requires an extractor fan. Other than that a good location and warm.

      A few upgrades needed

Left on 10/27/2012 for a stay in October 2012

Nice location but as we arrived late at nite, the entry vestibule where we were supposed to access the key with a code was impossible to see due to no lighting and it's location closer to the floor. The numbers simply could not be seen. Fortunately we were able to use the light from a cell phone otherwise we simply could not have seen the numbers on the key pad. Bed linens could definitely use some replacing as they seemed very worn and tired. Extra blankets in the closet were stained and very unappealing to use. The heavy duvet on the bed would give great warmth for the winter, but we had to scramble around to change the cover as it was just too hot for the time we were there (October). Perhaps the bedding used should be adjusted seasonally. Carpet in bedroom had stains and could also use a shampoo or replacement.

Thank you for your feedback. We're so sorry you had trouble seeing the lock box. The light bulb in the entryway has been replaced. The linens are checked and replaced on a regular basis but we will double-check to make sure we don't mistakenly leave older linens in the apartment. We will also check the bedroom carpet for stains. Thank you for bringing these things to our attention!

What a phenomenal location and what a great apartment!

Left on 06/28/2012 for a stay in June 2012

All the previous reviews were pretty close to spot on. The staircase leading down to the apartment is very tight and steep, but we used the rear exit every day we were there and it was perfect! The location is absolutely awesome with a block to the back bay, and only about 5 short blocks to the "T". We were there for a week and did not even need a rental car which was amazing to us. We were able to go in any direction on the "T" from this perfect location. Fenway was only about a 10 minute walk, which was important to us. Our only complaint was if you go in the warmer months, the bedroom doesn't cool off too well do to no a/C in the room. We used the small window fan in the unit to try and move the cold air from the a/C in the living room back to the bedroom. Other than that, I would gladly stay here again and we had 2 adults and 2 kids and it was extremely comfortable. My last concern would be to put a door or a curtain at the bedroom to give separation if there is anyone sleeping on the pull-out couch bed. But again, this unit was a great value and so close to everything!! My hat is off to the owners...you do a great job keeping it clean and inviting! Thank you!

      Great accommodations in outstanding location

Left on 06/20/2012 for a stay in June 2012

Central location great for walking the city. It was our first time to Boston and we loved being so close to everything to explore the city. Would definitely go back. The only downside for us was that while the bedroom provided pretty good privacy it didn't have a door, and this only impacted us because we have children who were harder to keep in one place for bedtime/naptime.

Lovely accomodations in a great location!

Left on 04/04/2012 for a stay in March 2012

I stayed here with my mother and niece for 3 nights while visiting my son at Boston University. The location was convenient to everything - the local 'T' stop is only a few blocks away, and it is within walking distance to many good restaurants and shops. The neighborhood is charming and safe, and the room is just as it appears in the photos - cute, clean & comfortable. I would definitely recommend staying here, unless you have challenges with stairs, as there is a very steep, winding staircase leading to the garden condo. Overall, we loved it and will stay here again upon another visit to Boston.

      Good all rounder

Left on 10/23/2011 for a stay in October 2011

My wife and I stayed at this apartment for 6 days during the first week of October. All in all the property was in a fantastic location, close to the youthful and vibrant Newbury Street, Back Bay and around 20mins on foot to Boston centre. The whole area felt very safe and it was also easy to catch the local tube at Hyannis Stop (10 min away) to the centre quickly.

The apartment itself was well presented, looking just like the website photos and clean, with all the bedding you would require. On arrival we were pleased to find that toilet and kitchen roll, sugar, tea and some other basics were in the cupboards. This saved us buying products which we simply would have had to waste due to the length of our shortish stay. I'm not sure if this was left over products or from the owner but it did make a difference! The whole apartment is a great size- big bedroom, separate lounge plus modern essentials including wi fi and a communal $1 washer and dryer makes it a great all round package. I honestly find it hard to criticise, however my only gripe was with the noisy oil burner in the nearby basement which caused the pipes to creek and crack quite loudly at intervals during the early night. Also, although we knew the bathroom was quite small, it was rather hard to get in and out of the shower. I don't think that there is anything which the owner can do about these 2 points but without them it would be perfect!

Indeed Boston is a fantastic city which I am sure we will visit again and this apartment may very well feature in any future plans.

Left on 10/14/2011 for a stay in September 2011

A cozy apartment, just right for the two of us. Clean and well stocked with all the necessities. The best feature for us was the close proximity to alot of venues. Newberry Street, Prudential Center, MFa, Boston Common..we walked everywhere. Our only complaint would be the lack of good air circulation. Even with the aC unit and ceiling fan, it was so uncomfortably hot in the bedroom that we ended up sleeping in the living room with the aC unit on all night.Perhaps a portable aC unit or extra fans would help. The steep and narrow stairs were OK for us, but definately should be mentioned somewhere in the apartment description to alert people with health issues or diabilities.

Left on 07/29/2010 for a stay in July 2010

This apartment was amazing. We stayed for a Red Sox series and had a great weekend. The apartment is a 10-minute walk to Fenway, Trader Joe's was a five-minute walk, several corner groceries, and the many restaurants of Newberry St. were a block away. So a fantastic location.

The apartment itself had all the amenities we needed (except a plunger, which it has now). The ac and ceiling fans cooled the apartment, the small kitchen met our needs, and we were very comfortable in our temporary home. And the rate was fair given all that we had.

Thanks for letting us use the space for a memorable weekend.

      Go Sox.

The quality of the apartment was good but the a/c only affected the living room and therefore the bedroom was hot overnight, only slightly alleviated by the ceiling fan. The step down from the bath to the floor would be a problem for people other than fully fit.

What a great place this B&B; is! I was only in Boston 3 days but felt like I was a resident. Everything I could have wanted was in this homey apartment...kitchen fully equipped with every possible utensil and cleaning item...bedroom and bath with every possible linen need. Desk equipped with everything needed (and way beyond!). Near the end of my stay I opened a closet I hadn't noticed and even found an umbrella (it was raining!). Cozy, clean, nicely decorated, and then you get to walk outside onto Beacon Street through the streets to Back Bay. I loved my stay at this B&B;!

I loved my stay at at this condo. I loved that I could cook my own food, walk
to many restaurants and sites, conduct the business I needed to attend to
without once getting in a car! This is a great way to see Boston...I felt like I
had my own digs. The bed was comfortable and the kitchen had all I needed
to prepare some meals. With this condo though, the smoke alarm was very
sensitive. I heated some toast on the small oven (due to no toaster) and there
was no smoke...but the alarm signaled. A wave of the pillow from the bed
silenced the alarm. I ate my toast while watching the morning news on the
awesome tv in the living room. It was a cute place and a great way to run
around the city. Thank you for accommodating me, even at the last minute.

The apartment was perfect for our needs. A couple nights were cold and heaters were provided. We were only a couple blocks from the Hynes Convention Center and marathon so was what we needed. Loved having the kitchen. We were in the basement level so I could see it being noisy above us but the couple that stayed above were very considerate and quiet. Even though it did rain a few days we still enjoyed being back in Boston after being there last year. Love the transit system. It makes it so easy to get around and everyone we asked help from were very friendly. I don't know if we will be back next year but hope to bring my sister and her husband out sometime.
