OttawaGreat Location / So-So Customer Service
Left on 08/07/2012 for a stay in July 2012
I rented a 2 bedroom suite in their Back Bay location.
My experience with the customer service from "Inn Boston Reservations" was so-so. When you call, more often than not they'll answer, but on 2 occasions prior to the trip, I attempted to call, and there was no response. Be mindful of what "mcormi3" said in their review about the layout. What you see online may not be what you get. One of the reasons I called customer service was to see what the layout would be like. She had no answer, and no pictures. I e-mailed them requesting pictures and more information about the unit after paying for the rental, and they still didn't get back to me. The booking on the other hand, was quick and easy. The times I spoke to them, they were always polite.
The unit itself was charming. Since I had no idea what I was getting, I was skeptical, but all four of us were plesantly surprised by the room. It was clean and well furnished with nice accent pieces. There is a small elevator, it looks like a regular door, so you will probably miss it on your first way up. The location is excellent, pretty much in the center of it all. Parking on the street in front of the apartment is free after 6pm, and all weekend until Monday at 8am (I don't think there is a max time you are allowed to park on the street, so we might have been lucky. It would be good to check first, Boston parking can be confusing after all). If you prefer, boston Common's garage is a 5 min walk away.
Overall, if you're looking for something outside of a hotel experience (which I'm guessing you are, otherwise, you'd be looking at expedia), I would sugest looking into this unit. -

Nazareth, PennsylvaniaNot what was advertised
Left on 08/03/2012 for a stay in July 2012
The location of the building was in a great spot. Very nice part of town and conveniently located within walking distance to a lot of the attractions. However, the penthouse unit we stayed in was not what was pictured and advertised on the site. At first glance it looked great, but the longer we stayed the more disappointed we were. The stove and refrigerator were moved every time you opened the door, the kitchen table wobbled so badly we couldn't eat at it, and there were cracked mirrors and tiles throughout. It was in need of major repairs and better craftsmanship.

Port Orange, FloridaDon't believe the negative reviews!

My family, friends, and I all traveled to Boston over Labor Day weekend for my wedding. I originally found these units on their website and booked them immediately. After doing some additional research, to my horror, I came across all the negative reviews on Tripadvisor. I was so concerned I planned on canceling the reservation (we had 3 units reserved, with 14 people planning on staying), and incessantly called the property manager with questions. He reassured me time and again that the reviews were unfounded, and hesitantly I agreed to keep my reservations.
I was very pleased when I arrived at the property - particularly with the 3 bedroom unit. The units are not dirty, nor are they run down. Quite opposite, the three bedroom unit is rather modern with a large screen tv and an electric flat stove top. I think people do not understand that these are Boston brownstones - they're old, historical buildings, they're not "run down." That being said, they aren't the Ritz or the Taj either. This particular unit's bedrooms are loft style, meaning the two upstairs bedrooms open to the living room below, but can be closed off with shutters, and the bottom floor bedroom has an open ceiling. The unit is roomy enough for 6 people to be comfortable, and the kitchen is equipped for cooking full meals if so desired.
The bottom line is this - the unit is old but has modern amenities. The bedrooms are a little on the smaller side, but the unit itself is very comfortable. It is in an amazing location: two blocks from the T, walking distance to the common and Gardens, as well as almost anywhere else in Boston. If you want a 5 star hotel, stay at the Taj down the street. If you want a vacation rental apartment with historical character, stay here. -

I recently stayed in what I thought was this unit this past weekend with my college girlfriends. Upon arrival we noticed the unit we were given "the penthouse suite" was not the same as the pictures provided on this website, nor did it look at all the same. It did not spoil our weekend and the location was great! I did notify the management office when I got home that it was not the same unit and I was told that they have 2 different 3 bedroom units and I did not request the one that was pictured on line. Why would I think I was not renting the one that I was looking at on line? Terrible management and customer service. I was not looking for anything in return from them when I called, my intentions was to let them know that it looks misrepresented online, I was told that I was wrong. There are many places to rent in Boston, I highly recommend looking into somewhere other than this place.

BerkshiresA fantastic stay on an otherwise dreary long weekend.
Left on 04/26/2010 for a stay in March 2010
I stayed in this suite over a very dreary 4 day weekend with my Fiancé and another couple.
It was quite cold out, but luckily our suite was a mere 10 minute walk to many of the locations I had planned to visit. Newbury St, the Boston Public Library, and the Prudential center were all within walking distance, not to mention the Commons, and Park St.
The suite itself aside from location was very comfortable. Both Couples never felt cramped, and there was plenty of room for all of us in the common areas. Security features on the front door were easy to understand and never got in our way, yet were considerably up to date and seemingly effective.
I will say that navigation upstairs in our suite as a 6'2" Man required a bit of agility (especially in the facilities) but overall it was merely a mild annoyance. The kitchen was also a bit small; however we did not do any cooking so I cannot comment on its functionality.
The Suite was beautifully furnished, and very inviting. The accommodations were above expectation and easily accessible. Extra towels and sheets were available without request, 1 and ½ bath, full color HD TV with cable and even a full selection of fantastic vintage books.
Overall we were very pleased with our suite and I would recommend it to anyone looking for something more comfortable than a standard hotel room, with a great location.
