Location is what is best about this place. You are steps away from Hanover St. which includes the most amazing italian restaurants, Mike's pastry, etc. We walked everywhere! It's nothing fancy, no frills, and an older apartment, but it's clean enough.

Left on 09/02/2012 for a stay in August 2012
Our apartment was in the north part of the North End, a very lively Italian neighborhood with history around every bend. It's an older apartment, so don't expect every thing to be spotless or work perfectly, but it's comfortable. Tiny bathroom is fine for average sized people. We were happy to be able to explore Boston without needing a car.

We received great service from Zoe rental:Dror and Gail were our main contacts.Their warm and hospitality were much appreciated. We liked it so much as it was cozy and comfortable. We had 4 people in the 2 Br apt very comfortably:even sharing the bath was "fun".The location in Little Italy couldnt be better:we were steps away from Hanover street where I lost count of great restaurants.I even found a great salad bar at the Golden Goose Market.Shops,safety,music...etc
We liked best access to shops, restaurants and beautiful churches. -

Left on 08/16/2012 for a stay in June 2012
My granddaughter and I stayed in apt.3 at 12 Foster St., Boston, in the heart of Little Italy for a week in June, 2012. It worked very well for us! I especially appreciated it being on the first floor of the building. The location is great - we walked all over the North End and were able to get around to everywhere else on the subway. Dror is very organized and made the whole process of renting and staying at his Foster St. apartment very easy and enjoyable. I am a very detailed person and felt comfortable that all the information I needed was provided by Dror and his manager, Gail. You will find a booklet with all the information you need about the apartment, the neighborhood, public transportation and phone numbers to reach him, Gail, emergency numbers, etc. The kitchen is very well supplied and we had everything we needed to cook with, etc. The real estate office that Dror works through was also every helpful, even printed our boarding passes for us. If you are looking for a comfortable, affordable place in Boston and don't need the frills and services of a hotel, get in touch with Dror.

Left on 08/14/2012 for a stay in August 2012
The accommodation at 435 Hanover Street is wonderfully located in the North End of Boston, right in the Italian Quarter with it's regular festivals. The clean, well designed studio apartment meets every requirement for a most enjoyable stay for a couple.
The staff gave exceptional service and came through with commitment and dedication when faced with the loss of a valuable piece of jewellery.
I cannot speak more highly of their service, which is greatly appreciated. -

The location is wonderful close to everything. The apartment was clean and we had no problems. The 2 bed rooms were just enough for my husband, myself and our 17 yr old granddaughter. I would recommend this apt and would stay there again if I get back to Boston in the near future.

We stayed at 435 Hanover, 2a. It was a bachelor aptartment. For my husband and I this was a perfect fit for us, for we were out all day. Apartment was clean and well kept. It was in a great location in Little Italy. We were able to walk to many places and the Haymarket station is just a short walk away. Close to so many restaurants, pastry shops and the Freedom Trail. It was great to come "home" between outings and/or after a long day walking. My complaints are small: no toaster (we used the oven), no broom and more storage in the bathroom is needed. I, also, liked the fact there was a place on Battery St. where we could store our luggage, for we arrived way early on the check in day and our flight home was late. Thus, saving us from lugging our stuff around. I highly recommend Zoe rentals, to me it was way better than paying $200 plus a night plus all your meals out.

We rented this apartment for 5 nights in July 2012. Being a family of 6, we appreciated the space: 2 bedrooms, one for parents and one for kids with very comfortable beds. Large living room. Plenty of clean linen. 2 tables, one that folds out so plenty of space for our family. Good kitchen with everything needed to do a bit of cooking. So close to everything, we could walk to Quincy Market in 10 minutes. Loved the neighbourhood feel, the quiet. Bathroom needs a bit of updating but that is the only flaw I could find. Would definitely go back again.

The north end was great and the apartment was close walking distance to everything, but hte aparment left a bit to be desired. The "two bedrooms" closed off with curtains, not doors, and it all needed a good deep cleaning.
Arrived at the office to pick up keys and they were not there...had to wait 20 minutes for them to be brought. No linens for the second bed even though we'd reserved for 3 people.
The bathroom was very, very small and the shower was roughly 2'6"x3', very tight once you factor in the shower curtain. You had to almost leave the door open while on the toilet because the door would hit your knees.
Stair in and out are very steep and short treads. one night there was a party on the back patio right outside our bedroom window, less than ideal sleeping conditions.
good place to stay but it's rough and not luxurious by any means. read the website closely as well as the agreement.Response from dror ashuah - 07/27/2012

This apt is in our least expensive category and not the one advertized on flipkey.
It is however important to note that my apartments are
by no mean luxurious. Although we try to do the best to accommodate guests it is surely not the service of a hotel. The greatest benefit is price and being immerse in one of the most happening and vital neighborhoods in Boston. If you are not sure call me

I stayed here for a week as an alternative to a much more expensive hotel stay for a conference that I was attending in Copley Square. The commute was so easy, and I had so much fun visiting the local cafes and restaurants in the North End. The apartment was very clean, cozy, and comfortable. Thank you Mr ashuah, I will certainly come again!!!

This is a great place to stay!
Left on 06/18/2012 for a stay in May 2012
Dror ashuah, owner of Zoe Rentals, was upfront and honest about his property. He cautions potential customers if one wants a fine, fancy hotel room, this isn't the place for them. He advertises the upstairs apartment is not fancy, but it is clean, comfortable and affordable. We found this to be true. He said The arbus apartment is located in a century-old building on Hanover Street in Boston's Little Italy and we'd literally be steps away from the Freedom Trail, the Old North Church, a number of fine restaurants, and well within walking distance to the whole of Boston. Again, we found this to be true. The Haymarket Station is a nice walk down Hanover Street, so taking transit to Harvard, Back Bay and further destinations is easy. My husband and I visited Boston, May 9 - 13, 2012, with our 12 year old granddaughter. We loved being able to "go home" after a day of sight-seeing. And we enjoyed having so many choices of good places to eat so close to "home," with no parking hassles, and no waiting for the bus. Regarding our reservation experience, there were no problems. Mr. Ashuah responded to me immediately, via email, confirming our reservation, with further instructions regarding our payment. The whole process was easy, and there were no hidden costs. Key pick-up was a cinch! It was right downstairs.

Left on 05/04/2012 for a stay in April 2012
Your rental property was a lifesaver! We were visiting Boston for the Marathon, and wanted a place where our family (5 people) could stay together. Hotel rooms were too expensive, and all of the rental properties we saw on other websites were already booked. We happened upon your website after a making request about another property, and were ecstatic to see you had availability!
We appreciated the convenience of making our own meals in the furnished kitchen, even there were so many wonderful restaurants and pastry shops within walking distance. The location was ideal - the Freedom Trail, waterfront, and public transit stops were all within easy walking distance. The space was cozy as most urban apartments tend to be, but we never felt like we were having to climb over each other to get around.
Thanks for offereing a cost effective option that was integrated into the fabric of this historic neighborhood. We felt more like locals than tourists at the end of our stay, and a big reason for that was having a "house” to come back to every night instead of just a room.

The apartment was centrally located within walking distance of most historical sites. The place was clean, good bed and warm heat. The fire alarm battery went out and the management came quickly and changed the battery. We had trouble with the wireless, but that was ok. For the price the apartment was nice, but could use some closer insepction of painting job and perhaps a kitchen redo. Service was good, easy to work with. We enjoyed our stay.

There was good & accurate communication between Dror & us, online & over the phone, before we traveled. If I had to leave a message the reply came quickly. Because this is a different experience from hotel stays, the information that came to us online had to be accurate & extremely helpful as to how to check in, phone #s to call if we needed help, etc.
The apartment was small, cozy, neat & clean. The neighborhood was awesome! We didn't want to have to drive anywhere & we didn't, so perfectly located is this to the Freedom Trail, right smack in the middle of Little Italy, warm & wonderful restaurants, easy walk to the T.
We can't wait for our next visit. 4 days just wasn't long enough.
I guess the least liked part of our stay was the weather. Everything else was wonderful!

The restaurants, the bakeries surrounding us we abundant and the people very welcoming. Thank you for a wonderfull stay.

My wife and I spent time here on our honeymoon. There truly isn't a better location to stay at in the North End! We love nearly everything about the stay. While the place isn't very large, it is perfect size for a couple. The only suggestions we would have to make it better is for the owner to track down the missing DVD player controller. It was hard to watch movies while relaxing when you cannot fast forward or get to the DVD menu manually. Otherwise, others have mentioned that the front entry door is right outside the apartment door, and that this can cause a bit of noise throughout the day/night, but this wasn't a concern for us. We did not find it to be much of an issue. Overall, we would highly recommend this apartment!

The apartment was as described with great location in Little Italy and the Freedom Trail. The check in and out were very easy; even with our after hours arrival. The historic nature of the building complimented the historic theme of the Boston culture. The two double beds in second bedroom with second TV were great for the teenage boys. This allowed the family the needed separation after a day of togetherness. The only bathroom was small, but adequate for our needs. Would stay again.

Left on 08/02/2011 for a stay in July 2011
First thing you need to understand is that the owner has several apts.that are all in close proximity to one anohter. So the one I stayed in is not the actual one that is shown in this listing. I stayed in the 4 Bennet Ct. Unit 5 apt (called the Joyce apt on his website) which is a 2 bdrm on the 3rd floor of a walk up bldg.
The apt was clean and comfortable and very affordable. It's not a luxury apt. as some vacation rentals are (and the owner is quite clear about this on his website), but it was certainly reasonably furnished, clean and comfortable for our stay. Location is fantastic - the Old North Church and a laundry service around one corner, and popular Hanover St. with a small grocery store on the other end of the street. It was quiet at night. The small window aC managed to keep the master bdrm comfy at night. We closed off the other bdrm so don't know if the aC would cool it well.
Only detractors are the small shower stall and that the entry to bldg is thru an enclosed courtyard and no on street parking, so made finding it and unloading the car a real challenge. I stayed with car (standing in fire zone) while hubby lugged bags across street and up 3 flights of stairs. Then parked the car 4 blocks away at public lot. It was a lot of effort. But even so, the price was great and I'd stay there again. We loved being in the heart of the North End and could walk to anything we wanted or to public transit and we wouldn't want to stay anywhere else in Boston. My final advice - while you're there take the North End Market Tour (Michele Topor's Boston Food Tours) to learn about real Italian food. -

We stayed in the 435 Hanover location. The unit was a nice size and we loved staying in the heart of the North End, however, the unit is very worn with exposed cables, holes in the partially painted walls, etc. While Zoe Rentals states they are not high end - they could at least give the units a new coat of paint.
Be careful of the windows - only two work with screens. The others are so old they don't stay up and almost slammed down on my hands. The sofa sinks in the middle, the floor is sloped and the place needs a real cleaning. Finally, these units are located in buildings with long-term tenants who are obnoxiously loud. They would come home after 2:30 am stomping and stumbling and dropping shoes on the bare floor above us. The owners are not local and the "contact" person nor the office below can help. There is no question - the rates are very reasonable. That said - you get what you pay for.Response from dror ashuah - 07/12/2011

Response from Owner of Zoe Rentals
You may have had a loud weekend but most of our guests love the feeling of staying in a real unit like the local residence and love the ambiance , not caring so much if the floor is sloping and there are holes in the walls. You came for a few days to enjoy a different experience and you do not come to buy the place. Overall, we have 24 hour hot line and both myself the owner and the super are available all the time. I checked and this guest did not leave us any messages. Little Italy is one of the best places to stay in Boston but it is a city and some noise especially on weekends is to be expected.
Please understand that you are renting a unit in 100 year old building and not a hotel. Thank you -

I stayed in this apartment for 10 days with some friends during the Winter. It was a very pleasant stay. The place was very clean, warm (sometimes too warm) and quiet and it has a fully equipped kitchen.
Just across the street there is a laundry house. It's situated right in the middle of the North End, so Italian restaurants, groceries and coffee houses are aplenty. There are also a few convenience stores.
Also, if you like typical Boston architecture you will love the neighborhood.
The reception guys are very friendly and helpful should you need anything. -

Champaign, IllinoisAn authentic Boston experience!
Left on 03/31/2011 for a stay in July 2010
If you want to feel like you've truly visited Boston, this is the place to stay! My husband and I traveled to Boston this past summer to visit our son and daughter-in-law who were interning there in a couple of churches, and were recommended to stay in these apartments by our son's in-laws (who stayed there a couple of weeks previous to our visit).
The location was our favorite part of our stay - walking out of the building directly onto the Freedom Trail was an absolute thrill, and being in the North End with all the wonderful sights and smells really made us feel as if we'd truly experienced Boston!! We loved being able to walk to Paul Revere's house or the Old North Church, and access to the subway was very convenient. We were thankful we didn't drive, as parking would have been a challenge. This is 'dangerously' close to Mike's Pastry, so forget about your diet while you're staying there because it's worth it!! :-) We thoroughly enjoyed the wonderful Italian restaurants and other pastry shops in the area, too.
The prices are reasonable and the apartments are neat and clean. We didn't call for reservations until about 10 days before our trip, and although there were no apartments available for the entire week of our stay, the owner graciously allowed us to start off in one unit and move to another on the same floor in order to accommodate us. The efficiency apt. was fairly small but newly remodeled and nice. Our favorite apt. was 2B, which was spacious and overlooked Hanover St. The separate bedroom and dining area is nice if you plan to entertain. Check-in was easy and convenient, and management even offered to move our luggage for us when we switched apartments. We felt completely safe walking around in this area at any time of day or night, and enjoyed the friendly local people.
We highly recommend anyone who wants to experience the Italian North End of Boston to stay here! -

If you're wanting a "Hotel" experience, this is not the place for you. But, if you're wanting someplace quiet, clean, cozy and comfortable, this is the place to stay. Hand's down, I would much rather stay here than a hotel. Not only was the above-mentioned important, the neighborhood was inviting, and all the sights, sounds, and flavors of Boston were within a short walking distance. Two thumbs-up!

We would give this rental experience overall a 4.5 We have stayed in several such rentals in many cities, and this ranks among the top.
We liked most of all the location - terrific neighborhood, easy being out at any hour, close to great food, the waterfront, very walkable distance to the T, etc. Having a local telephone, and being able to store our bags until a later flight were very convenient.
The price was excellent, especially that any cleaning fee was included; this was quite important to us being on a minimal conference allowance from our university.
We were also impressed with the speed and responsiveness by both the supervisor and the owner when we had a serious issue arise outside the apartment.
We would definitely come back here on our next trip to Boston; we have already recommended Zoë Rentals to others. -
