This penthouse level unit is located on the top floor of the building, 3 flights up from the entrance of the building. The kitchen is fully-equipped with appliances, including oven, refrigerator, and microwave, as well as quality pots, pans and cooking utensils for those who wish to prepare meals in. If dining out is your pleasure, the Back Bay will not disappoint with a wide variety of cuisine for all tastes and budgets. Each of the two bedrooms features a queen mattress set, ceiling fan, nightstand, reading lamp and alarm clock. There is a flat screen TV with local channels located in the living room, along with a dining table that expands... to seat 4 people. There is an additional dining table and outdoor furniture on the terrace should you decide to enjoy a meal outdoors. The sectional sofa in the living room pulls out to a full sized bed to increase the sleeping capacity of this unit to as many as five or six people. The private, walk-out terrace offers incredible views from above tree-lined Marlborough Street and offers its guests the perfect place to relax outdoors or entertain.
All rental units are equipped with wireless internet, irons, ironing boards, hair dryers, coffee makers, tea kettles, toasters, microwaves, linens and towels, as well as a guest book with instructions and recommendations.
All building and unit doors are on secure, code-activated locks so coordinating key pick-up and drop-off is not necessary. The building has a common laundry room that has two sets of washer/dryers which are free of charge to our guests and are available between the hours of 4pm and 11am. There is parking directly behind the building for an additional charge (subject to availability). Parking alternatives are on-street metered spaces or garage parking at 800 Boylston Street.
The Boston Common and Public Garden are a 20 minute walk, Fenway Park is 15 minutes, public transit is 7 minutes and grocery, dining and shopping are all within a few minutes walk of the property. You can pick up the Freedom Trail very near the Boston Common. MGH, Boston University, and many other hospitals and schools are within 30 minutes walk or a short ride on public transit.

We found check-in really easy, the location was great and the flat was lovely. It was nice and cosy and the bedrooms were spacious. We had a fair bit of snow and the flat remained toasty and warm throughout. It's close to the subway which we found helpful especially when it was very cold, and the street was lovely and quiet.

This condo felt like home, with all the comforts! Beds were super comfortable, with warm and cozy duvet covers. Two private bedrooms and a living room with closed door can be a 3rd.
We walked down the street every night to a neighborhood bar. The subway, restaurants & bars are 3 blocks away.
It was one of the best vacations I've ever had and I can't wait to go again.

Easy booking and check-in. Brent was a joy to work with. Marlborough Street and this apartment are quintessential Boston. The apartment is perfectly located, a short walk to the Boston Commons and Public Gardens and all of Back Bay. Check out the unusual storage places in this unit; for instance, pull out drawers in the steps to the living room. We sat on the roof deck on a warm fall day with nice views of Back Bay. There are stairs; unique old Boston buildings such as this don't have elevators. My husband and I (ages 69 and 64 respectively) did not find the stairs a problem as we always travel light. We loved our stay here and would book again if in the Boston area.

First of all, the management company on this property were most helpful in steering us towards it after our first two choices proved to be unavailable, thanks for that. Should you have a similar pbm, know that they service several properties in the same area.
The flat itself is lovely - and excellent setting right in the heart of the Back Bay area - though the access (3 flights of rather dark, steep stairs, the last of which felt like it might collapse unless we went one by one) was a bit off-putting.
Once in the flat though, it was lovely and bright. Cleanliness was a little less evident - and when you see that even for the shortest stay, about 150USD is charged for cleaning, that's a bit rich - there were huge dust balls on the parquet floors and even on the ceiling fans.
The roof terrace also slopes rather dramatically, but what a lovely place to sit for an evening drink after a long day or late breakfast in the sun.
All in all, everything was as promised, but if I may make a suggestion, as well as rechecking the rigour of the cleaning person, a couple more towels (we were a party of 4 and had just 2 regular and & 2 small hand towels for 3 days) would have been nice, maybe a bar of soap thrown in, and a clean bath mat (the piece of orange carpet was a bit 'ugh!' - better to go for something machine washable and fresh-looking)
A sponge or cloth for the washing-up would have been good too.
But yes, for a 3day minimum stay (otherwise the inexplicable proportion of the cleaning charge would no doubt make it uneconomical) we'd definately come again. Read more
I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed the unit and most aspects of our property. I'm disappointed that the cleaning wasn't up to snuff as we strive to deliver clean units upon arrival. I will speak to the staff about this. Ah, yes, the stairs! Part of the "charm" of Boston is our historic row-houses, which weren't designed to accommodate an elevator. I'm always happy to see the stairs mentioned in reviews so that guests don't arrive expecting an elevator. It does sound like you managed the stairs fine and the unit made them a rewarding climb! One quick clarification for the folks reading this review, our cleaning charge is $125USD.

We spent a week in this rental while we toured around Boston and thought it was perfect! We comfortably slept 4 adults and a baby in the apartment and everyone felt they had their privacy and space. Unit was clean, cool (which was important since the weather was crazy hot while we were there), and the owners have made it very easy to access and use the space. Location was perfect, we walked all over the place from it and at most had to walk 30 mins to reach the harbour. Centrally located, close to shopping, restaurants and attractions. Thanks! Hope to have the chance to stay here again.

Our apt we rented was in a perfect location. Having traveled to Boston several times I knew the Back Bay was the place we needed to stay for convenience to walking to different attractions. Marlborough Street was a very quiet neighborhood and we had a market about a block away.
Our unit 7 was perfect for two couples. We had plenty of room and utilized the terrace top balcony every night. What a great way to end a busy day with cocktails and friends on our roof top terrace. We loved that terrace!!!
The kitchen was well equipped and although we didn't cook in everything we would have needed was there. Having a living room area was nice to relax and catch the news or use the wifi available. The bedrooms both had queen sized beds that were very comfortable with nice closet space.
Being that we walked up 55 steps to the apt each time I would not recommend this apt for the faint of heart. It is not handicapped accessible in that respect. But everything else was to our liking. We would definitely use this apt or other available apts in the building again.
We secured a parking spot behind the building per the owners recommendation and never moved the car during our stay. Thanks to their help all our questions were answered very promptly via email. The agency was very helpful answering any questions we had.
Definitely would recommend this rental to my friends or use the agency to find another rental. I won't be staying in a hotel in Boston again not after finding this place.
I did recommend that a window air conditioner be installed in the living room for those extremely hot days and we had several during our stay. That would be nice to have in the apt.
Stayed last week of May for 6 nights. We were very happy with the apt. Location was fantastic. Access to shopping and restaurants was easy. The only downside was the 55 steps to get to the room. We were there during a 4 day 90 degree heat wave. The apt does not have air, but the outdoor patio was worth the heat. Overall, we were very pleased and would stay again. Read more
We're glad you enjoyed your stay. One of the difficult things about a historic rowhouses in Boston is that they were not built when elevators were around (or at least prevalent) , so we're unfortunately left to walk up to our upper level units in these buildings. We wish we had room for an elevator! Also, my apologies that we had not yet installed the window AC units in time for your stay. Best, Brent

This is a top notch place to stay in a quiet neighborhood but still within walking distance of Hynes Convention Center and everything on Boylston. It was clean and well equipped. The rental confirmation and check-in process was easy. I'd highly recommend this to anyone coming to Boston.
