Great accomodations..beds comfortable..deck is fabulous..views of the harbor from every window. Water pressure and hot water are excellent!
Some updates needed to make this a great vacation rental. The stove is barely operational so don't plan to actually cook dinner. Some baseboards are missing and the master shower needs to be replaced. Read more
Thanks so much for the review! Glad to see you enjoyed your stay!
We appreciate the comments about the updates. We had no idea about the stove and will have maintenance address this immediately. The boat owner plans on making some renovations to the boat this winter and we will make sure she puts these items on her list.
Great time for our family coming for wedding!
Left on 10/30/2013 for a stay in September 2013 | KRM
We had such a hard time finding a place to stay when we came to Boston for a relatives wedding. There were 14 of us who wanted to stay together and this just didn't seem possible until we found the Sleepafloat boats. We rented this boat the White Elephant and another boat the Orion. There were 10 of us on the Elephant and 4 on Orion. It was perfect, not only were the boats spacious and accommodating but the location was perfect! The boats are centrally located in downtown and super close to two subway stations (Haymarket and aquarium). Everyone we met that weekend who came in for the wedding were extremely jealous of our digs. As they went home to their boring hotel rooms were we actually excited to go back to the boats and relax on the roof decks listening to the sounds of the harbor and city.
My only complaint was that we ran out of coffee the second morning. The staff was helpful though and replenished the stock by the afternoon. In their defense we are heavy coffee drinkers.
We must say this rental made our weekend in Boston even more memorable. We'd definitely recommend this to anyone! Read more
So glad to hear you all enjoyed your time with us! Thanks for the review! Please come back anytime!
Very nice for friends

We found it just great. It was me and four other friends. It is near to the center, causy and just nice. If you want to go there, go with friends. If people with you are not close to you, you may be disturbed because one hears people in bath and because the bath is between two rooms. Another, small disadvantage is the hot water that is enough for bathing 2-3 persons only.
The big plus is that it is just interesting to be on a boat. Another big plus is the very nice and big living room with the kitchen. We could not enjoy the terrase because it was a bit cold, but I think this would be very nice in summer.
Go there! You save money and you are just besided many places to have fun in the city. Read more
Thanks for the review! Glad to hear you enjoyed your stay! I wish you had told us about the hot water, we would've tried to fix this for you. Happy to see you enjoyed your time on the boat regardless. You're welcome back any time!
It was fun.

The boat was fine. Had good space. Deck was very nice. The only thing I didn't like was that the deck was unavailable if people were still sleeping in their bedrooms as you had to walk thru the two bedrooms to get to the deck.

Three teens and three adults stayed comfortably on The White Elephant and were extremely comfortable. The boat is situated conveniently for any able bodied person, and is within walking distance to both trolley and water taxi stops. The only thing that wasn't completely satisfactory was the wifi service. It was spotty and disappointing since it was listed in the amenities, but overall we had a great stay. Oh, and the guy in the neighboring boat was cranky and unfriendly, but that's not Sahr's fault. The teenagers continue to describe our stay as "brilliant!"

My guts told me a lack of reviews wasn't good. My guts were right
This boat is a dump. Floors were sticky, cabinets broken, light fixtures broken, oven filthy. Deck furniture was broken. Light bulbs were out. Toilet pulled off of wall. Linens beat up. Carpet in bathroom disgusting.
View out of living window was a wrecked and rotting boat.
Other neighboring boat had very bright lights on all night that made sleeping impossible. We were told nothing could be done.
Reply from owner was "why didn't you call?" Why? It would take a major remodel to make this place anywhere near the asking price.
We did not let it ruin our trip, but it could have.

We are a family of four. The White elephant wasn't quite what we expected. The master bathroom was smelly from the septic tank. The floor in the bathroom is covered by a carpet which changes its colour from brown to speckled green the nearer you come to the toilet bowl. Everything is greasy, the couch the kitchen table, the oven but not the dishwasher. There isn't one.
Maybe there was some renovation in progress because my youngest son who slept on the second floor got headache from paint smell. He slept with his head out of the window.
We thought staying on a houseboat must be fun when we looked around the other houseboats at the pier. But the white elephant was a bit much especially when you think oft the good price you pay.
Well to tell something nice, it is not far from the Tavern on the Water, a nice bar and restaurant. Also the property manager JJ was helpful.
The managment also helped us to receive an important letter during our stay. Read more
We were sorry to read this review and apologize for the disappointment you experienced. Since your stay last summer we have made some very much needed renovations to the boat. If you're ever interested in giving us a second chance we'd love to show you how much better a SleepAfloat experience can be.

Unique way to see Boston and a great family rooming option
Left on 03/28/2013 for a stay in July 2012 | The Guarino Family
Fun, unique, out of the ordinary. I like to try different things with the family and this certainly was different. Plenty of room for all of us. The upper deck with the grill was great. Well located just 2 piers away from the Constitution and you can walk to town and the sites easily. It was a little odd when we got there since you really don't have a "check in" per se. but other then that it was a very cool way to spend our time in Boston. Great family memories. Thank you! So glad to hear you enjoyed your experience! The boat has since been moved to downtown Boston, even closer to all the sites! Please come back again soon!

New Year's Eve on the water
Left on 03/28/2013 for a stay in December 2012 | Susan
We are 3 couples who celebrate New Year's Eve together! This year we chose the White Elephant. The high point was watching the fireworks over the bay from our windows. Minor issues with the boat were resolved by the caretaker and owner. We ate breakfast and lunch on the water. We walked to local First Night activities during the day and evening. It's a great location. We'd love to stay here in during the summer or fall. If you don't require the amenities of a hotel and are able to "walk the plank" this is the place for your next stay in Boston. Read more
